I'm a lifelong Bucs fan and they're definitely on the list... but no way they're the best. Steel Curtain had how many HOFers, like 8?
Just think when Simeon Rice gets inducted. And Hardy Nickerson (who wasn't on the 2002 team, but was on the 1999 team and is part of that defense in spirit).

Under both Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden for that matter, he’s been one of the great cover corners of all time
Met him working with a charity in high school, awesome guy! And one of the most versatile DBs of all time!
By far the most underrated DB ever. Arguably the best tackler and sacking db also. It’s such a shame no one talks about him he’s a top 10 Db ever imo
Overall usage? FUCK YES he is top 10 since he was used in many ways and was versatile

He started to come down pretty hard after that but he wasn't a nobody in 02, he still stuck around for several years before he found out he wouldn't have a starting job. Does a younger Rice get more than 9 yards in man vs Kelly? Probably, but the way Kelly was playing it still wouldn't have been a ton either
I went to my 1st Bucs game as a kid, in 1976. Native Floridian and Lifelong Bucs Fan. When Ronde picked off McNabb, in Vet Stadium in Philly, to win NFC Ship, I cried tears of joy! I still get chocked up today watching it. FIRE THE CANNONS!!!

Ronde is absurdly underrated as a tackler. He was undersized but was always in the tackle which is amazing for a corner.

To people who don't know, every time Barber was called for a blitz it looked like he'd been shot out of a cannon. He just found another gear when he was told to get the qb. I think he was either foaming at the mouth or drooling when those plays were called.
2 sacks away from being the only NFL defensive player with 40 interceptions and 30 sacks. Let that sink in

That is actually crazy as the eagles were heavily favored in almost all of their matchups they played against each other when mcnabb was with the team ofc. The 2002 nfc champ game was definitely heartbreaking for fans

In any other NFL stadium, someone doing that would get their ass beat by their own. A few people actually brought little coffins in the NFCCG as well as the 1st game of '03, and no one wearing green put a stop to it.

After all that waiting it's about damn time Ronde Barber is finally earned it to be a hall of famer but what a career he did had the heart and soul of Tampa Bay a super bowl champion in 2002 after he intercepted the ball vs Philadelphia in the NFC Championship game that lead them to there 1st super bowl in franchise history Thank You Ronda Barber for a wonderful phenomenal ride and awesome cool moments in nfl history
