    Hi thank you for the helpful video! Quick question, do you have any tips on diffusing harsh window lighting making videos too overexposed?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  3 роки тому +2

      No problem! Yeah, it kind of depends, is the window going to show up in the shot, or is just providing light in the room? You can get very large reflectors that you could put in front of the window if it's no in the shot. geni.us/LargeReflector
      Or if the window will be in the shot, try to use light grey sheers (if it's your own place you can hang them permanently instead of curtains). That way you still get natural sunlight but the intensity is cut down.

    What's the best iso to use to get the graininess out your shots when shooting in daylight? Working with the Sony a6400 and the 18-135mm F3.5-5.6

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  4 роки тому +1

      kNERO Lapaé I try to keep my ISO as low as possible at all times to reduce grain. So ISO 100 or 200 depending on what PP you’re using. There’s no magic number really, just open up your aperture and try to expose the shadows as best as you can.

      @@chadwin What if it's too dark?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  4 роки тому +1

      @ if it's too dark during the broad daylight, I'd be concerned...Maybe it very overcast day? Open up as much as you can with your aperture and use ISO if your need to, I just wouldn't go over 1600-3200 ISO. Maybe getter a lens with a faster aperture like f1.8 or 2.8. F5.6 isn't letting in enough light all the time.

    • @chadwin

      You know me yikes! If the metal ring inside snapped, it probably can’t be fixed. You’ll likely need to replace it. Luckily they’re pretty affordable.

    Most of these aren't "hacks," they're literally the most basic things that reflectors are meant to do...
    Use the diffuser to diffuse! Use the reflector to reflect! Wow, groundbreaking.

  • @Techknowverse

    Hacks don't apply to using reflectors, Chad.. Hack is a writer that does shabby work. In this case, you are applying this to doing shabby work for yourself. Hack is to chop, or cut. Hacking also applies to unauthorized access to a computer through a way of force. You idiots on the web, always use Hack incorrectly.
