- It took me a long time to qualify and another long time to finally earn a bib for Boston. But this year, I finally did it. There isn't another race that's like this, and I now understand why people keep coming back, year after year.

Beautiful effort. Be proud. 35 years from now you're going to watch this video and remember the day like it was yesterday. Stand tall.
I like this
> you're going to watch this video
Probably not on UA-cam anymore, if the BAA and the SeriousRunner have anything to say about it :D
Well done, inspiring video!! I'm downloading this video...
great comment!
Agreed.
@@AndreiDamian Knowing Mike's background he probably already made arrangements and got approval. Hense donating all revenue to a charity from this video.
So glad you got us at 20.5K!!! Go Kofuzi Run Club!!!
Thanks so much for the support!!!
Thanks for being out there Michael.
@@kofuzi we got so much positive feedback on Monday. You built a good community.
Thanks for being there with the sign! It gave me a little boost when I was trying to figure out if it was going to be a good day or a bad day.😅
That was a fantastic finish, Ko. I was feeling it with you. Great video. Looking forward to the complete breakdown. You were really thinking through the hills. Congratulations.
Big props to TONY from the start and the end, what a guy! 👍
he gave me so much
Everyone, be like Tony!
Thanks! This is what the running community is all about!
This was so awesome to see unfold! 👟
Yeah that was lovely to see.
This is the closest I’ve seen to capturing the magic of running the Boston Marathon. Whether you qualify or raise money for charity to get in, the work is worth it.
yes yes yes
when you can’t run with your legs, run with your heart! Good job!🎉
indeed
Was there yesterday too, my first marathon at 54 yrs old. Life long Bostonian.10 yrs, Boston strong! So glad you got to participate in our spring celebration
thank you for the hospitality
That’s awesome! I’ll be doing my first marathon this year too at the age of 22.
This video gave me chills, tears, smiles, everything. You capture the emotion of every race so so so well. Those last 5 miles crushed me up and spit me out last year and I was feeling the same agony you were. You’re the best, Ko. What a fight to the finish. Congrats.
so good to see you and spend some time together this weekend!!
Good to finally meet you at the shakeout! Hope you had a great race weekend.
Ko from all the videos I have watched from your channel, I always come back and watch this one. So cinematic, the editing, the music, even the intro is fcking epic, it's like watching a movie. For example, 1:25 to 1:37 is magic.
Thank you!
YESSS!!! Kofuzi, the emotional rollercoaster in full effect, Braveheart vibes with those tunes, the struggles and high fives! Well done on digging deep to the finish. Another rock solid edit. 🦄🏃♂🔥🔥🔥🚀🥳
thanks so much Floris! I wouldn't be here if it were for what you and Coach Jimmy did for me in LA. I think about you guys every race
Watching this right away before the BAA takes it down
get it while you can
Lol
It would be espn
Man, how cool was that seeing the couple with the KOFUZI sign!! FANS SUPPORTING YOU, LETSSS GOOOOOO!! 3:00
really lifted my spirit
Congratulations Mike. 3:03 is still a fantastic time! Big shoutout to Tony for staying with you and giving you support when you needed the most. 👏
I couldn't have done it without him
8:16 My eyes are watery. You got the best mate in the race. Congrats to both of you!
Tony is a cool dude. Love seeing that teamwork. That Boston experience looks insane!
I’m exhausted from just watching. Good job. Great cinematography and the slow -mo shots were just awesome
thanks for watching!
That final 2k, while not the best, was absolutely inspiring. Proud of you Ko 🎖🏃♂️
thank you
@@kofuzi People keep talking about Heartbreak hill but the last 3k are actually the hardest with a succession of sneaky inclines.
I cried when you crossed, running is such a beautifully crafted dance. Your performance was exactly as it was supposed to be and you could tell you were living in the moment. If we remember to do one thing while running, if anything, it is to simply just be. In this way we really are able to achieve ultimate bliss.
I ran a very Boston Boston, and I wouldn't have it any other way
What an inspiration! I'm still trying to lower my times and struggling but videos like this keep me motivated to keep going for that next goal.
keep going
Tough race and no BS video.
Let's not forget this is less than two months after a PB in Tokyo.
I'm so tired
Chicago, NY, CIM, Tokyo, and now BOSTON - all within 6 months! Celebrate your AMAZING achievement in all of those marathons and enjoy some time to recover. Props to Tony for giving you that extra push that we all need in those final miles. Great to see Remy on the course but very disheartened by what happened to him and his crew after you saw them. Love what you’re doing to fundraise and bring attention to this injustice.
thanks so much Leona! it wasn't the same without seeing you this weekend after getting to see you at all these other races. hope to see you again soon!
What happened to someone named Remy and his crew at the Boston Marathon, per your comment here on Kofuzi's video?
Congratulations Michael! Shoutout to Tony for being the ultimate bro! 😂 loved the comradery!
I kept trying to let him go. he wouldn't leave
@@kofuzi We need more people like Tony in this world!
Ah, thanks bro! It was a great shared experience out on course.
Congrats Ko! 🎉 Amazing job and I’m always shocked by how good your footage is while running a marathon fast AF! I wish we could have met up while you were in town!
maybe this summer?
@@kofuzi 100%
Wow!!! I was crying during this video.. Congratulations my friend!!! You should be super proud of yourself!! And myself too, I am training to get qualify for Boston in 2026.. Hopefully see you there!! Awesome job!!!
Thanks man. I’m the guy at 5:41 in the orange tank top looking over towards you. I wasn’t aware of you before the run but as I was going through Newton I could see the crowd going nuts and reacting to who I thought they were shouting as “Foozee!” ??? Anyway, found you afterwards randomly for searching for Boston videos on UA-cam and am now a fan and follower. Your run was my run. Thank you for capturing it for me for me to keep with me for the rest of my days.
Great to run with you! Hope we can share some miles again soon
After the pros finished, I went on the website and began obsessively tracking the rest of your race. Congratulations on a great Boston Marathon!
thank you!
Nothing beats your content Mike especially race day vlog. The best. Very strong at 3:04. Congrats and salute! I'm always inspired!
I love that editor Ko put the Kofuzi Run Club sign at his finishing time 3:04, so that references to that time in the comments would link back to the Haneys holding the sign and cheering all the Kofuzians. Next level.
Love the self talk 💪🏼
Suffering is a mandatory part of life. It test your mind, body, and spirit. You suffered, you were tested, and you were not found to be lacking. Legend!
Kofuzi, your Boston victory ignites our running spirit; thank you for being our fearless guide that we proudly run alongside.Thank you for inspiring us to run free! Awesome victory!
This is an incredible video, Kofuzi! It captures so much of the emotion, challenge, and grit that takes place in a marathon.
Ran my first one last year and ended up blowing up early in the race. Had to mentally will myself through the last 13 miles and couldn't wait until it was over. The funny thing is, I'm already looking forward to doing another one!
This is commendable. I'm trying to break 3:20 and I don't even have a selfie stick!
Keep going!
I don’t think people realize how impressive Kofuzi is. He is filming himself running the Boston marathon while blowing pass people. Goddam.
to be fair, I wasn't exactly blowing past people at the end of this one
Emocionante , Felicitaciones Kofuzi¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Felicitaciones a todos los atletas¡¡¡¡¡
I'm so glad we can go along with you on these incredible achievements, I felt it when you hit that wall but found the strength to keep going. Running partners are so underrated. Looking forward to hearing your story - thankyou for making these.
we run farther when we run together
Inspiring! I'm working my ass off to get here or at least to get a qualifying time this year. The energy of the crowd looked incredible. Well deserved, great finish!
I happened to click on this while sitting in the parking lot and dreading a 4 hr swim/bike workout for half Ironman. Thanks for the motivation and reminder of why we do this stuff!
hope you have a great swim!
Congratulations! You did amazing and the perseverance at the end was very inspiring! The fact that you’re able to do back to back marathons with consistent performance is amazing!
Congrats on a great Boston finish!🎉
The rain got pretty brutal for a minute there, running in soaked clothes and shoes. 😆
I was the guy in revel hat at the puma group run. I’m autistic and i have a lot of anxiety in social situations, but it was still really cool to get a photo with you!
I ended up just breaking my 2:55:00 goal with a 2:53:51! Super fun course! keeps you on your toes with the constant grade changes
what an incredible finishing time! so great to meet you this weekend!
Nothing like Boston under the rain. Great video, man.
weather was perfect
wow the energy! Looking forward to running Bostong 2024!
energy is unmatched
I always find your marathon videos inspiring, and I have a lot of respect for the fact that you include the tough moments in the final edit too.
The tough moments are the best ones
I couldn’t look away the whole video. Your grit and determination is inspiring. I’m planning on running my first marathon for my 26th birthday this year and this really hyped me up. Thank you and way to go!
good luck with your training!
Awesome Job!! Love the video!!
Always get excited when I see a big race video from Kofuzi! Well done and congratulations!
Proud of you, Ko! Years of hard work pays off. Thank you for taking us with you along the journey. Best wishes from Malaysia.
thank you for coming along with me
Way to gut it out Ko! Looked like so much fun! I can only imagine how heavy that selfy stick felt as the race went on
it wasn't bad, but I was thinking a lot about your recent series of running through pain
Congratulations!!!🎉
I love that editor Ko put the Kofuzi Run Club sign at his finishing time 3:04, so that all comments referencing that time would link back to the Haneys holding the sign and cheering all the Kofuzians. Next level. Also appreciate the Bandit Running Co. hat and singlet given the rebellious filming and publishing of this video.
I will have to admit that it was unintentional, but I love that it worked out that way.
the universe works in mysterious ways
I think you are really doing the B.A.A. a favor putting out this video. Nothing like giving the Boston course the @Kofuzi touch. I hope the B.A.A. allow to keep this up. Congrats again so soon after another huge race and great seeing you!
I downloaded just in case. I'll be going back to this one. A Buddy and I just pledged to BQ again at age 59 for the age 60 standard. 5 years to prepare. Step one, lose those pandemic pounds.
I love it
The sheer positivity! Awesome accomplishment! Thanks for sharing and inspiring. One for the history. Hope to qualify in 2025 or 2026 and truly understand how you must have felt!
there was a lot that bubbled up for me in that last stretch that I forgot was there. it was wild
3:04 for ur first time in boston is nuts!!!! and you ran with A CAMERA all the way, we're proud of you!!!!
thank you for coming with me
Congrats! Very inspirational! 🙏
Wow!! I got teary-eyed! I just wanted to help carry you to the finish😂 congratulations Kofuzi!! At 6:45 "I'm here, I'm still here" 😄 I know that feeling!
oof. it was so hard!
Congratulations! This is an amazing accomplishment and something you should feel so proud of - you've come so far from your BQ at the Tunnel Marathon all those years ago!
it's been a long and hilly road
@@kofuzi What a Journey
Congratulations!!! So epic!
Congratulations! Very inspiring and amazing job as always!🤩
"...and I now understand why people keep coming back, year after year."
So, see you again next year?! So happy for you Ko to finally see you check this one off. It's been literally years in the making. Was excited to see you come through 16! You're amazing. Also, thank you for bringing awareness to the situation that happened at Mile 21 with Remy and our fellow run crew members and friends!!
I don't know if I'll be able to race it, but I'll definitely be around to be a part of the cheer squad
@@kofuzi pull up!!! 🎉🎉 There’s always 26.TRUE as well, if you want to run an unsanctioned marathon through the diverse neighborhoods of Boston!! Pioneers Run Crew would love to have you to either!
nobody, NOBODY has better race event footage than kofuzi! Absolutely epic filming and editing.
thank you
Amazing experience! Thanks for sharing!
Congrats buddy! I saw the agony, heard the cry to quit, but you did it. Be proud! It's a huge accomplishimnet. 👍
Thanks so much!
Great fundraising video! How could anyone request to take down a video for charity.
I always wondered how much faster Kofuzi would be able to run without having to hold a camera and a pole? Doing a marathon while filming and talking? 🤯
some things are more important than a race result
And needing to talk
@@kofuzi what matters is the process 👍
@@liiou4445 indeed! Watching the process, the struggles, and the camaraderie inspires me (and us all) to continue to get out there and work hard!!! 🙌🏻
Congrats! Huge accomplishment Ko
Congratulations man!!!! awesomeee
Awesome Ko!! congrats🙌🏼
Well done, congrats! I found myself at 4:47-4:50, I'm the guy on the right in my baby blue raincoat standing on a step-stool at 30k spotting for our club runners in the rain and turning around and shouting to everyone under the yellow Somerville Road Runners tent that someone was coming, lol. Well done, can't wait to hear your take on the race and the course.
thanks for being out there! we needed you!
Congratulations Ko! This is what running is about! Enjoying it, having fun, pushing yourself! Thanks for sharing your content! It’s helpful and motivating!
Congrats Ko. Thanks for showing the real ups and downs of marathon racing. Great video. This is inspiring for my marathon coming in a few weeks.
Beautiful work Kofuzi. A solid effort till the end 🔥
What a video!! Great job, Kofuzi!!

I caught your “say yes” mantra and loved it. Good to see when it helps…I copied you and used same one on Wednesday running the 606 in Bucktown at lunch. Cheers 🍻
