- Produced by Joe Bodolai. This amazing performance is from my Gemini award-winning series IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL! (which also starred Mike Myers) on CBC in Canada. We invited Stevie Ray to appear and then introduced him to Jeff. Stevie was blown away and offered to perform with him. It was Jeff's first TV appearance. These late guitar virtuosos are missed, but this performance lives forever. This is one of the greatest moments of my career.
Two of my all time favorite players. Both had so much talent. Both had devotion and HEART for their craft. Both are greatly missed.
A very special moment captured on film. Jeff & SRV were both excellent players. And they both had killer tones. It's a shame record companies didn't see the dollar potential in combining talents like these back in the day...what amazing blues we would have to listen to..imagine a whole album of SRV & Healey together
jeff healey massively underrated imo...guy was just pure music
Best guitarist lists always miss him. Clapton? Hendrix? Great guitarists, to be sure, but Jeff and SRV are in my top ten, along with Brian Setzer and Colin James, two more horrendously unappreciated players...
Jett Crash Whilst I agree with you completely, Brian Setzer is the king of rockabilly, at least to most hipsters and rockabilly fans :)
Two immortal, kick-ass guitar studs who personified what the REAL DEAL is all about. One of the greatest live performances ever captured on film! Why is this NOT available on DVD...it is priceless. Thank you Jeff and Stevie Ray for this masterpiece moment in music history...
Heaven must be one really rockin' place!
+Sylvia Brock How true!!
Amen!
+Sylvia Brock ya think? God I hope so, can you just imagine the sessions going on up there? would make Woodstock look like a club show
Albert king and now Chuck berry are jumping in
When I die
Don't weep for me.
I've gone to play
guitar with SRV!
(My epitaph)
How can 33 people not like this? Who are you and what grudge against everything amazing do you have? This is an example of two of the all time greatest guitar talents we will see. No they are not the first or the last, but the passion and intensity they put into the music they played was something to behold. So for the 33 people who don't like this I respect your opinion and hope you one day have a greater appreciation of music.
hobbes calvin Sound recording sucks balls. Like listening through a potato.
Jeff Healey - RIP - so underrated as a fine musician.
Right you are.... On both counts !
TEARS of joy... RIP Stevie and Jeff.
Legends of Electric Blues. :,(
I saw Jeff Healey in a dingy bar in my home town in Ontario in the 80's with only maybe 100 people there. It was packed and ho as hell and he rocked that place.
They locked the doors after close and he just kept going. Best show ever!!
He was like a man possessed. He'd jump out of his chair like on this video and he almost fell off the riser into the crowd. What a performer.
two more stars up in the heavens,
Two of the worlds all time greatest guitarist...gotta love them...miss them both so much.
Stevie Ray and Jeff -- two of my oldest son's favorite musicians. He loved music - owned several guitars and keyboards. He passed when he was just a young man also, in 2003. I like to think he's with these other two young men who died so young - jamming somewhere we will one day see ourselves.
These are TWO of THE BEST both can play all day , I miss them both !!!
well said
All I can say is....OMG! Thank you God for sharing these two amazing people with us. We are blessed. Always and Forever.
They could've gone an hour, I would've be glued here to the end. R.I.P. Master Gunslingers.
I feel so lucky that I got to see both of these guys in concert. Both shows had a huge impact on 16 year old me and I still cry when I think about them being gone.
I had the amazing luck to see both of these men perform. To see them perform together WOW!!! I was in tears at the end. Guitar heaven has 2 amazing players waiting for me to jam with.
Watched this a hundred times and it always makes me feel good. The first time I seen it jeff brought a tear to my eye when he jumped up and started jamming. The only person I ever saw give SRV a run for his money on stage. You could tell by stevies expressions he was really enjoying watching jeff play....This is how they jam in heaven epic stuff
once in a lifetime.
Two great and excellent guitar players. Imagine they must jam in heaven and having great time! R.I.P. Jeff and Stevie Ray. Thanks for the music.
(P.S. for those who click on dislikes, there is a serious problem!)
how could anyone in their right mind give this a thumbs down?
18 of the dumb asses gave it a thumbs down
Just watched it again! If this doent make your blood pump your effnn dead!
One of them was Lil Wayne
I agree. They must not have been in their right mind. lol
lil wayne fans
WOW.... is all I can say.... then I remembered, these two great musicians, were forever gone from us... yes... I had a tear .... RIP Jeff and Stevie....
Two guys with music in their blood and heart. So great to hear!!!
un blues a nivel súper Dios, que grandes los 2 legendarios, jamás me voy a cansar de ver este video... Genios...
39 People know nothing about the blues. I know audio quality is not great but these men are legends.
I spent night after night in my youth either watching or playing with bad ass guitar players, but when I stood about 25 ft from Jeff Healey & watched this miracle to music play it brought tears to my eyes. God bless you Jeff Healey! Only the good die young.
The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jeff Healey , Heroes of the Blues !
the moment Jeff Healey is getting off his chair, is so moving! -it gives me the chills and brings tears in my eyes...judging from the comments, lots and lots of people here, felling the same way too, and I'm really happy about that - there's hope for the world
Giants Synergy here - they won't be forgotten
Damn that brings back memories! I saw Jeff play about 7-8 x during the 80's. He played almost every haunt on Yonge ST. His show at the old Copa at Yonge and Bloor and the Masonic Temple were so memorable. Some nights you could wander down Yonge St and hear him playing just passing by and pay a cover charge to see him!! RIP to both ; (
I find it utterly amazing how good a guitarist Jeff Healey really was. How nice that Stevie Ray Vaughan, a very good guitarist, thought Jeff Healey was amazing! Yes, he was!
To bad they both passed!! Heaven holds a special place for them!!
it sure does. heaven does call all blues stringers back home, eventually.
LOVE how much Stevie appreciates young Jeff's playing - this is one of the video GREATS!!! Come back often to appreciate it myself - beyond wonderful!!!
MAN, it just doesn't get any better. Stevie is digging it at Jeffs standing up.
This performance brings tears to the eyes and heart. What an awesome duo. Heaven is a rockin' place with these two angels. :)
Absolutely f***ing wonderful! What energy! God bless them both! RIP Stevie and Jeff.
Jeff is truly missed....died of cancer at the age of 41 in 2008. His blindness definitely contributed to his AWESOME skills......and Stevie's skills speak for themselves. Two greats gone but never forgotten! RIP
i have to say i have goosebumps... Jeff is the guy who got me into music and at the age i didnt know he was blind, i learned it when i was a bit older and god ... this man was a true musician ... he made me start playing guitar at the age of 13 and i look back on years and its thanks to this guy i now love music ... all kinds of styles, its a passion like him i have for music... blind or not white or black wtver and wherever you are from .. Music always welcomes evryone and its awesome.. this is priceless seriously.. peace evryone
Rest in Peace Jeff Healey. It's so sad that once you finally got your own blues bar on Bathurst Street in Toronto where I saw you at your sunday blues jams you were unfortunatly taken by your maker shortly there after way too early to headline in God's own blues band in heaven. We Canadians lost an Icon and the world lost a blues legend R.I.P. and thanks for the music.
I am sorry I missed seeing SRV but I saw Jeff a few times and he was amazing.
where @?
Saw him in Lancaster, PA twice.

Sweet, Was It In 87?
Can't remember the first time :). It was at Franklin and Marshall College. Second time it was at a club downtown whose name I can't recall but that was in 1996?
He rocked the house, that's for sure.
You either get it or you don't. I pity those who don't. This clip reached down and touched my soul. Isn't this what music is suppose to do? A true piece of art.
I think this may be the greatest blues duet ever recorded on a live show. There are no other guitarists like either one. What a performance - I wouldn't mind if it was 8 bit either :) Thank you for posting this...
S.R.V and Albert King In Session is also pretty phenomenal
Glad I found this performance/my Stevie Ray moment....early August 1982...a little bar in Arlington, Texas/hardly anybody there, two guys playing pool(Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton)I sat at the bar. Sitting next to me a guy with a cool hat asks how's it's going/I said great I'm here to hear a guy that plays a lot of Hendrix and plays the blues like no one else. After a few minutes he tells the two guys let's go...It was Stevie Ray/awesome and what a surprise!!!
One of the most amazing performances I've ever seen! RIP Boys !
The finest guitarist who ever lived or played, hands down....Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The crowd roar when he sat back down. WOW. Proud to say I met Jeff one time and he was the kindest,, most humble person for a star of his stature you could ever dream of. I was star struck and he said "man I just play a guitar". He was amazing and so kind and descent.
+platecrumb I read once that Jeff had got the crowd so stoked once he got up, leaned over the front of the stage and, still playing like a mad dog, fell into the crowd. They caught him, lifted him up and passed him around for a little while he burned the place down with his playing. His producers and assistants were mortified but JH knew what he was doing.
You know when you watch something over and over and you don't get bored, that speaks volumes. That's when you know that you're on top of your game, different league!!
its magic! thanks God for both!!!
These two together were simply magic. i was 12 when Stevie died and never got to see him live but i had the honor of see jeff play on numerous occasions and to have been able to talk to him as well/ he was a great guy on top of being a great musician and student of his craft. Jeff forgot more about music then i will ever know.
When we lost them, we lost so very much.
+Fred Moore Amen to that, Fred...
my god, that is blues at its finest, played with nothing but passion! RIP to both of them................. :)
This is a piece of history !
So hard to believe both of them are gone... really 2 of the greats that were here too short!!! Amazing!!! Wow what talent and passion! Awesome!!
love it when Jeff goes apeshit crazy
Hell they are Jamming It Out Heaven has to be the Best Concert Around (RIP)Jeff+Stevie Ray ✌💙
Just amazing! No other words for it..... RIP to them both.
85 people have no soul.
Rest in peace both of you guitar gods :)
Only the "good " die young. Thanks for the legacy.
Unbelivible!!!!! So many Power,so many feeling,so many real Blues by playing guitar....RIP Guys, this is maybe one of the best Blues ever played on the Guitar...for my opinion...
2 amazing guys we lost way too early.
Yes, Jeff was very underrated as a guitarist. Unlike so many other famous blues guitarist, he didn't just keep rehashing the same licks. He was almost always on & always creative. But what really gets me here is Stevie's voice. He didnt even need to play guitar, that voice was pure gold and pure power. God truly blessed him. May he R.I.P.(rock in peace) 😉
I saw SRV in 1983 in Dallas he was the greatest guitarist I've ever seen. Then I saw Jeff Healey in maybe 1999 in Ft. worth he played the most beautiful version of "While my guitar gently weeps" (RIP Gents)
simply two of the finest blues guitarists ever to walk the face of this planet !!
Saw Jeff at the Roxy in Hollywood when he first came out. Never forget how he said he wasn't feeling too good that night then breaks into White Room. He did the whole solo one handed while drinking a cup of tea. It was ridiculous... Jeff was a true musical talent. Towards the end of his life he became much more involved with the trumpet and became quite good at that as well....
I saw Stevie Ray live in 1984 - loudest damn concert I was ever at, and I saw Jeff live in the same theatre in 1989. I count myself very lucky to have seen both of those masterful musicians.
I've always loved these two guys. Seeing them perform together is a real treat. Sa-MOKIN"!!!!
I was too young to truly appreciate these guys in the late 80's when I first saw them live. I was at the last SRV concert with Clapton. What a sad weekend that was : ( Miss these guys and the wonderful music they made. Nowadays I hold these guys music even more sacred than ever becuase I now realize how awesome it truly was and how much talent these guys had. They'll never be forgotten.
I say again.. SRV was awesome.. as always. But Jeff was ON FIRE!! Thanks for posting
Two of the greatest greatest greatest electric guitarists ever in one stage - how lucky these people were to witness that! Both taken away from this Earth WAY TOO SOON!
I don't know how many times I can revisit this site but I've got to admit that I am probably the number one fan.... plus I administer a SRV fan site that hears this constantly... join us : Stevie Ray Vaughan: Blues King... lets get the Healey fans united with the Vaughan fans... why not ?
theres no guarantees on how long we will all be here fo. make the best of what you have. for as long as you can, they both certainly did. thank you jeff and stevie for all you did. always remembered.
Fantastic! First time I saw Jeff stand up and play. And first time seeing these 2 playing together! RIP to a couple of the greatest this earth was ever gifted with!
A legend & a legend how cool is this, something we'll never see again. Is rock n roll dead, i hope not people.
😎🇦🇺
amazing!! gives me chills. it's great to see 2 musicians respect each others. and i'm not talking about talent and passion because who nowadays has so much talent and fire? i dont see many talk about blues inspiration guitar and feel: no one can top those guys gone too soon but their legacy is here to stay
Love it how, Stevie closes his eyes, maybe out of wonder and admiration for Jeff.
Truly two masters at their craft.
Two great guitar players on the same stage! It's a shame that both of them have passed away too soon...
Wow, this has been on here for five years and i never saw it. Better late than never. No words i write are worthy of either of these guys. Just glad i lived when they were playing. RIP Jeff and Stevie.
OMG did you see Healey get up ? That was priceless.
+DewkChronic That was epic. Wow.
+DewkChronic Without looking at the guitar, Jeff played it like a boss.
***** He can feel it. Can he?
michael dillon You don't need to look at the guitar to play it.
jasminne mcdonald You meant well. Thank you!
Stevie was a real legendary guitar player and a person. He was truly a champ giving Jeff a chance. What a legend. Both of them.
Wow - what a performance.
One of the great blues-rock performances ever caught on film! This is what American Idol should be instead of a cookie-cutter karaoke contest!
What a pair! Gone to soon.
I´ve cried when I saw this.
What a power on stage.
And this fabulous Mr. Healey....!!!
Why the good ones leave so soon?
One word - awesome.
OMG Thank you SoooooooooooooooooooooMuch for this Two Young Bluesmen Gone Way To Soon Rest in ☮️ Stevie Ray and Jeff 🖤💙
SRV and Jeff sound outstanding
Not again in this lifetime will we ever see the likes of this kind of performance performance... Can you feel the awesomeness...?
Holy Shit..Awesome Stuff...1st time I saw this video..I hope you youngsters appreciate these 2 and god bless Jeff Healey...That was sick....WOW
This is back when music had heart and soul, not like today. RIP fellas, you are both sorely missed!
This is almost too much awesome.
Got to see Jeff Beck , Jeff Healey and Stevie play a show together . Best concert I have ever seen . And that means alot I've been to over 100 big venues . Toronto is an awesome place for concerts .

And no jeff was blind not deaf
Thanks, First time i saw Jeff come out of his seat. And Stevie ran with it! Never saw this before. A very import jam in blues history......RIP Bluesmen aka Guitar heros!
I'll bet that had never happened to SRV before, he was usually mopping the floor with everybody!
downeybill he would of loved every second of it regardless !
i agree with both comments ! def not something we saw often, yet stevie got fueled by Jeff superb performance ! Love Stevie
At exactly 2:07 Stevie has a look like Whoa, I wonder what I can do for a job now?
Gone but NOT FORGOTTEN !!!! RIP Stevie and Jeff....Hope someone watches this video “ Fifty” years from now and appreciates both of their talents as GREAT GUITARIST 🎸.
That tune was never very special. then Mr. S.R.V. and Mr. J.H. set it on fire they owned it!!! What a compliment to each other. It saddens me it"s like a tease that there is only one song wow to have them touch my hands before they left this mortal coil youtube a testament to they're legend.I believe in euthanasia for the 43 dislikes the soulless ignorance of pop culture .SRVJH rest in peace
+Roger Fex Absolutely!
+Roger Fex Right on Roger.,, some of the silly little arguments on here just make me shake my head ...
Not True.
See the Copeland Duet.
And Stevie just plain had class - Giving Jeff Healey a hug and announcing his name again at the end. What an endorsement from such a great player. Obviously Jeff was no slouch either. God, what might have been and both not died too soon.
just realized jeff healey didn't have a guitar strap on, how the f did he do that standing up and playing like that, just an amazing, electrifying performance.
Dan Cannon plus he's blind lol
Thanks for posting this amazing performance. Jeff was unbelievably talented...hard to believe he could play that way blind...RIP Jeff and Stevie.
Jeff wins the solo contest :-)
Bullraemus no everybody wins
John Perry .. I agree with you but as a friend of Stevie's I know he'd say the contest was won by Jeff with kindness and humility. That was his nature. I was blessed to know Stevie and Austin, TX will never be the same without him. ♡
2 of my "heroes" ... I saw them both life. Jeff Healy I even met in person and stood at the bar next to him and got an autograph. What a great guy he was
