  • I found out my 4 month-old R5C has a bad HDMI port after only a few uses in which it output video to my Osee T7 just fine. The other day I wanted to take video of myself and saw that the HDMI isn't outputting a signal any more. This video will be used when I contact Canon support in case they ask me to perform their troubleshooting steps. I'll update for those who care, what the end result was.

Chris, no offense but you gotta talk faster. Our attention spans are short.

Working on it but I tend to speak slower and have an issue articulating certain things. I appreciate the feedback.

Update: Shortly after shooting this video, I called Canon phone support and a rep. from the Cinema line answered immediately and walked me through a few quick steps. He seemed fully familiar with the product and had me try a few quick things to make sure it wasn't a setting. I wasn't on the phone more than 10 minutes and he determined that I needed to send it in for repair with low turnaround time. He estimated I'd be without the camera for no more than 2 weeks. Once I get it back, I'll do a quick update.

I haven't sent the camera in yet since I'm about to go on vacation and didn't want to be without it. I'll send it in after the fact. Still got time to do so.@@contentm3893

Same thing has happened to me. Less than 10 hours of filming and the mini HDMI not working, they can’t say it was from damage. It was never moved from a permanent studio tripod position on a teleprompter setup with cage and all to keep the wire from moving

turn the playback to 2X and stop complaining when you can solve the issue yourself super easily
