    Is it just me who think Wayne Goss looks like Vincent Van Gogh?? Both are amazing with brushes and colours. One created art on canvas, one uses face as canvas. You are so inspiring to millions of us. Thank you so much for your work.

    I tried this yesterday and it stayed on until I removed the makeup that evening. It was over 12 hours!!! I wear glasses and there was very minimal transfer on the glasses as well. Thank you so much for this trick. I’m a social worker and I’m in and out of my car all day. Currently we are in the high 90’s with a heat index of the 100’s. Much love Wayne.

    I can confirm that this works...most of the time. I find that it works best with Mac Fix+, Maybelline Master Fix, and even the Wet n Wild matte one. However, with hydrating setting sprays, like Kokie's Hydrating setting spray, it doesn't seem to work as well.
    My MUA for my wedding did my makeup like this since it was outside. Didn't move at all!

    • @Spookylips
      @Spookylips 6 років тому +8

      Panicked Antics i feel like it would have to be more of the matte style setting sprays instead of a hydrating one because the hydrating will keep your skin moist

      I’ve used a similar technique for yrs to keep my t-zone for getting oily through the day. Dampen my sponge as I normally would & blot slightly so it isn’t overly wet when I spray 1 side of my sponge (the part I’m using for the initial blend), no more than one or 2 short squirts. This technique works really well & doesn’t take nearly as much as what Wayne showed here. For the record, I’ve used this w/hydrating/dewy sprays & it does work but not all brands, some of the cheaper ones can get sticky effecting how products layer. If you’re going to use a dewy one, be sure it’s a well performing one. 😊

    First of all, disgusting is NOT a word I would ever use in the same sentence with Wayne Goss. NOT. POSSIBLE.
    Secondly, I am so excited about this technique. I live in the "deep South" in the US where the humidity stays close to 100% in the summer. I cannot wait to try this at the next outside wedding I attend. NOW, if you could figure out how to keep my thin, lifeless hair from sticking to my head after being outside in the heat.😉

      Apply some dry shampoo at night or before you leave the house! The lush one doesn't leave a white cast and the AG dry lift is a paste so you take a pea size warm it up in your fingers and scrunch your roots upwards! It adds texture and absorbs oil!

    USER UPDATE BELOW!!! Awesome! I'm going to try this tomorrow. We have a heat advisory this weekend so this came at a perfect time! I also have the same setting spray! I hope this works for my nasty oily skin!!!
    Update: I tried it this weekend...which was 36+ degress celcius feeling more like in the mid-40's. THIS SHIT WORKS. I used the exact same Skindinavia setting spray and set with the laura mercier powder. Of course I still got a tiny bit shiny, but the make up didn't move, it still looked amazing and even after I blot a little, it was still all there and looked AMAZING. Legit going to be a regular part of my routine as someone who has extremely oily skin! THANK YOU!

    I gave up on fundation long time ago... Im 44 and i dont go out without makeup anymore.. IT doesnt matter if im going to a party at night with a strong makeup or somewhere where requires really light makeup at day time, all I do is, I aplly is sun block, regylar cream and concealer on the dark spots and under eyes, and i have a lot of those.. When i am blending The concealer i just get the left over the brush to go over my face just to make it more uniform color without caking it.. At the areas where my skin is ok, i just have a little tiny layer of concealer just to color a bit, and there is no lines where is the concealer and no concealer.. Since i started doing that, i never had a problema of my make up following off... For The contourn i just use bronzer (matte for day time) and blush and blend it for no lines again.. I figured out that primer and foundation just add layers of makeup and make it heavy, so it just slip from my face (sorry for some English mistakes, its my second language, I am brazilian, living in a hot country and the instagrams tutorials just doesnt work at all.. I get complements on my make up all the time... Real life and behind cameras is two different realities.. Plus, i use to be able to buy expensive makeup, not anymore, and i still doing a great job with cheap makeup... Just found your channel, and its so good knowing that there are people out there with feet on the ground.. Definitly you are one of them!!! Congrats... We are real people.. We also need to look good..hehe.. Thanks a lot!!!

    Here is what I have been doing for about 6 months and it works great!!! Wash your face...start clean...i use face serum moisturizer and let it dry down. I apply primer and then foundation. After foundation I spritz face with setting spray amd let dry. I then apply my blush contour bronzer. When I am satisfied with the look I use face powder where needed. I then spritz face again with setting spray and while the spray is still damp I use my beauty blender to pounce everything into my skin. Thw look is fabulous when I'm done and it literally lasts for 16 hours !!! This works great!!!

    I used this trick today and my foundation still looks good 11 hours later! I only used one spritz of the Skindinavia setting spray and mixed it with my foundation with a little makeup spatula before applying with a foundation brush. Then I powdered and set. Normally by this time I've got a lot of oil in my t-zone, and I'm too lazy to do touch ups. Today I don't feel like I should touch-up at all! Thank you Wayne for this tip, you've changed my makeup life :D

    I discovered this recently when I had my setting spray and an ordinary spray bottle with water put close together. I usually spray my face and beauty blender with a bit of water before applying foundation. I accidentally sprayed my face and beauty blender with the setting spray. I realized my mistake when i couldn't drag the foundation on my face like usual. Although I felt that it was a little difficult dealing with the foundation patches, but your trick here of mixing the foundation and setting spray before application sorts it. Thanks Wayne!❤️

      trisha anne Lush has a setting powder called Emotional Brilliance that I love, love, love. It's made with Jojoba oil so it adapts to the skin really nicely and feels smooth without looking cakey or greasy either. If you can go to a local store and try it out :)

    Another method that I discovered by chance is Essence gym proof primer, which costs about £3.50, and L'oreal Infallible Matte applied with a damp brush. But I've just tried Wayne's method with an alternative to the spray that he recommended and the Urban Decay All Nighter and I'm pleased to bits! I was planning to just declutter that foundation but I'm definitely keeping it now as Wayne's method of application makes it look a lot less cakey and just beautiful.

    Omg I know this routine! I do this in my T-zone using a matte setting spray to keep oil away in the summer. I actually dampen my sponge with mostly setting spray (instead of mostly water) & then blend foundation. Yes. This does work- it prevents things from breaking down. 😊💚

      Same thought here. I use a thin later of MUFE makeup mist when my makeup is done and it lasts untill i want, even on hot days and having oily skin. I like he likes to think outside the box though.

    • @Allyson6C
      @Allyson6C 6 років тому +4

      Actually Elizabeth, I’ve used a similar technique for yrs to keep my t-zone for getting oily through the day. Dampen your sponge as you normally would & blot slightly so it isn’t overly wet when you spray 1 side of your sponge that is used for the initial blend - like one full pump or 2 short squirts is all you need. The setting spray works really well & doesn’t take nearly as much as what Wayne showed here.

    So I am testing this today because my go-to foundation has not been holding up to NC heat & humidity lately! Today it was 90 degrees by 11am! I purposefully walked from the farmers market to the coffee shop & have also been walking around a lot. Even did chores outside. Almost 8 hours later & my makeup still looks great! I use Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless foundation & Flower Beauty setting spray!

    Off topic, but I have this problem with my mascara or something under my eye. Whatever mascara, concealer or powder i use, my mascara always smudges there. I’ve seen others videos, but they just recommend to bake. it doesn’t help + makes my undereyes super cakey. I feel like your’re the only one that really knows lol.

    • @clarejones3523

      okurr do u use a waterproof mascara?

    • @titi4112
      @titi4112 6 років тому +4

      okurr try tipping your head backwards when doing the uppers and down for lowers. Then blink as little as possible or as lightly as you can why fanning to dry quickly. And if you do get transfers (only works for mascara) leave it alone. Let it fully dry. Do other stuff. And then scratch at it lightly. It will come right up.
      I have naturally long lashes and sometimes I blink or jerk and it will get transfer EVERY SINGLE TIME! So this trick is super handy.

    Thank you sooooo much for this video! I live in the deep south of America where you can practically swim in the humidity. The only thing I did different was the very beginning where you mixed the setting spray and foundation; I sprayed my setting spray first then added my foundation/concealer. But it worked! I went out this afternoon to run some errands and it stayed fresh!
