Good luck in every thing you do. You have a very pleasant voice as well, you were made for teaching this to the rest of us. I watched this over again, it hardly ever do that. Brilliant! I simply could not stop watching regardless of what was going on around me, it was mesmerizing, so relaxing and I really wanted to go make one of your boxes. OH MY GOODNESS, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CANE that turned out to be!

Hi Fiona- I know you may not see this since it isn't a new video, but I wanted to leave it anyway just in case. This is the 2nd time I'm watching this tutorial & I can not wait to give it a try. When I 1st saw it I felt very intimidated & thought that I probably couldn't do it, no matter how badly I wanted to. But you just explain & teach everything so clearly & perfectly & you break everything down in such a way that it makes us feel like we can actually do it, and trust me, most people do not have that ability while teaching/explaining. This box is absolutely beautiful, i can't even get over it. You amaze me so much. There are a few polymer clayers out there on youtube who are absolutely incredible & I'd be so lucky & thankful to have even the tiniest fraction of their ability, but you really are on a whole other level. You're a true artist. You come up with AMAZING projects & pieces & canes and I just don't understand how you do it but it's so incredible to see. Your creativity & talent is truly out of this world. And it is so so so very kind and generous of you to actually share all that with us. Your projects are always like works of art and you spend all that time and effort & I'm sure much aggravation & so much clay & planning just so you can share it with us. And like I said before, you are the BEST most patient & clearest teacher ever. I still feel intimidated to attempt making this box but it's so incredible that I just have to try. And you have made me feel like I can actually do it! I am incapable of designing a cane or anything like that, I'm just not creative or talented enough. I could never even choose color combinations on my own because I always think they'll look bad together. And I'd never in a million years think to use the colors you have used for this box together as you did, I would never be brave or bold enough to. But you did and they are GORGEOUS together. Alright, I'll stop rambling now. Every time I leave you a comment it ends up being more like an essay, sorry. I just think you are so amazing & I wanted to tell you how very much you are appreciated. So thank you again, so much
Well, that has just made my day, thank you so much for such amazing comments, and absolutely you can do this. Just take it slow, don't expect too much for your first one, we all learn so much from making mistakes on our first pieces, and be happy with what you make. I cant wait to see what you do, and know that you'll have fun doing it. Thanks again :) xx

I have made several of these trinket boxes and I am getting commissions to do more. I love all of your tutorials. You are truly an artist to the highest degree. Thank you so very much!❤❤❤😊
This is a lovely tutorial, informative and well-produced. I've been researching a bit for my disabled daughter who's just developed an interest in polymer clay and your work is not only beautiful but your instruction is clear and straightforward. It also makes me feel a bit wistful as well... I ran a pottery studio from the late 70's to the early '90's and so many of the building techniques are the same, watching you makes me realize how much I miss those days.
Thank you so much Bob. Maybe it is something you and your daughter can do together? Your skills will pass effortlessly into working with polymer clay, and would also be a fantastic addition to the polymer community :)
I absolutely love this, and can't wait to do one myself! I was actually thinking about taking it one step further, and putting the triangle separators in, to create dividers, and use it as a small jewellery box, or for other tiny trinkets. Truly very inspiring video. The way you make your canes completely blew my mind open! I was watching at double speed because I couldn't afford the hour and a half to watch it and even then, your voice was southing and peaceful! LOL
Not only are your tutorials amazing and so much appreciated. Wow Fiona! I need to make at least two of these boxes! What a glorious design. Thank you for such a clear, calm tutorial, I'll be claying all day tomorrow! ❤
Having never used clay before, I came across this video and thought I would have a go. I went to a nearby hobby store and bought what I needed and using this video, I had a go at my first project. Thank you for the easy to understand directions as it’s ensured a complete newbie like me have been able to a box and I’m very pleased with it. Thank you

Absolutely beautiful. I love just watching how you put the designs together and as hard as it was for me to see the finished design its like you just knew. Really enjoying watching your videos. Your voice is very relaxing and it helps me to calm down while also getting to enjoy your pieces.
This is impressive work. The attention to detail amazed me as I had no idea this much could be accomplished using polymer clay. Thanks for doing this detailed video so we can see how this is done the right way. Blessings to you for continuing success in this skilled craft and your generous life.
Thank you so very much for this tutorial. You are extremely thorough and your attention to detail is wonderful. I've watched too many videos where they throw something together and it looks sloppy. Yours is extremely professional, perfect and lovely. Your voice is very soft and nice to listen to also.
I cannot wait to have the time to make this, its no. 1 on my list as soon as i do. Thank you so much Fiona, for giving of your time and skill so generously. Its fantastic.
Thank you for a great tutorial. Bc of them I have become more confident to explore all the different avenues of polymer clay! Please keep making these amazing and wonderful videos!!
I do not work with polymer clay. This video is a pure random mistake, but I could not help but watch it. Amazing! Such a gorgeous box! Love your slightly psychedelic colors! You are extremely talented. You are an artist. It is very pretty. I am totally in awe. Speechless. I even had to share it with my husband. Both of us are very impressed.
I had a rough day and this video showed up in my recommends. I’m so glad I clicked. Your voice is soothing and the box was delightful to watch come together.
The trinket box is just amazing!!! I have never heard of some of the things you used but now I will go looking!!! Oh, by the way, I think I need to be thanking you!!!!!!!
I have never worked with this material... If I have to make a box like that, there is no money enough in the whole world to pay me... what a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW! Stunning tutorial and stunning result. You are so brilliant to give us mere mortals the instructions to create the form to make the box. The cane you used is s gorgeous, looking simple yet complicated to make. I need to practice more on creating kaleidoscope canes that I am happy with. You are a true artist with polymer clay. TFS
Fiona, wow. Ive watched hundreds of tutorials. Im a novice and trying to come along in in poly clay. I have found ur tutorials to be the best. This has been the most informative video ive ever seen. Bless u for giving so much info on one video. I can follow ur creative process as u create this cane as well as the technical aspects. U are a awesome teacher. Im still having problems fiqureing out how to determinehow much clay to use. How big to make my cane etc. but i followed ur tutorial and my box is coming alone well. Now is the hard part finishing the cane and arranging on the box. Still having problems reducing without distorting. Sigh. Oh well. Ill Keep practicing. Ive watched ur reducing process closely. Just cant seem to get my cane not to distort. Thank you for ur generous sharing.
Thank you so much Karen, that is a wonderful compliment. I am so happy you are enjoying the tutorials :) Yes reducing is the one thing that really only comes with practice and patience. I actually don't press in that hard down each side, it is a gentle but even pressing in, while sort of pulling outwards, again very gently at the same time. It is the amount of repetitions of doing this, the same motion down one side, then turn repeat, turn repeat that is the key. The first few times it hardly moves at all, but then, as you get the inner bits of clay starting to reduce as well, it moves on more quickly. The good thing is, that it is like riding a bike, once it suddenly clicks, and your fingers get the right pressure and motion, you have it, and you are off and will never look back. The main thing always is to have fun and enjoy it :)
I’m just getting into polymer clay and watching your videos like crazy. My main hobby is bonsai trees so I’m trying to see if I can use polymer clay to make bonsai pots. Your videos are helping to think it is possible. Thanks so much, Tim
At first, I thought this was going to be way too busy, then wondered if that could be a thing...? I was amazed with the finished product. ❤️❤️❤️ It reminded me of this place in Pa (Phipps Conservatory) where they have flower and plant displays. The pattern made me think of the exotic flower displays they have. Gorgeous.
Your voice is so soothig. I used to do some with polymer clay but nothing like this in the least. I used to find canes and people who do them amazing. To think about the large cane you started with and how none of each matched and now - wow. Amazing. I needed to go to bed but had to finish watching! 😁

Brilliant tutorial. You’re so easy to listen to and everything was so well explained. This probably was a little adventurous for me to make as it’s only my second attempt at polymer clay crafting but I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. Thank you Fiona.
My mind is blown at all the stuff that can be done with polymer clay. Like if a person wanted they could then finish the inside with a faux mother of pearl inlay or some faux gemstone made with polymer clay. It's like it gives you access it a million different materials that you can all make with different techniques with the clay. I just wish the clay was a bit cheaper so larger projects were more practical like doing a nice overlay to make fancy pots for indoor houseplants or like a hanging mural of tiles for a wall I think would be a really cool idea.

Thank you very much, and I am so glad you enjoyed it, even though it was a random offering :)
I had a rough day and this video showed up in my recommends. I’m so glad I clicked. Your voice is soothing and the box was delightful to watch come together.

So peaceful watching the box being crafted. Lovely. Just Lovely.
Thank you :)
I have never worked with this material... If I have to make a box like that, there is no money enough in the whole world to pay me... what a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you ever fancy having a go you will find it is really enjoyable to work with, so payment is just the icing on the cake ;)
very beautiful!!
Thank you David :)
TFS
Thanks so much Marion :)

I can't even begin to imagine the time it takes to do a video like this but it is much appreciated. Doing a new teapot. Thanks sooooo much!
thank you Joyce :)
Right on my to-do list! What a beautiful box! And the colors, stunning!!❤️ Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks Cindylee :)

I’m just getting into polymer clay and watching your videos like crazy. My main hobby is bonsai trees so I’m trying to see if I can use polymer clay to make bonsai pots. Your videos are helping to think it is possible. Thanks so much, Tim
@@timothylewis1387 Oh yes, that should be perfect :) very exciting project :)

thanks so much Sheryl :)
Gorgeous.
Thank you so much Darla :)
Your voice is so soothig. I used to do some with polymer clay but nothing like this in the least. I used to find canes and people who do them amazing. To think about the large cane you started with and how none of each matched and now - wow. Amazing. I needed to go to bed but had to finish watching! 😁
Thanks so much for your lovely comment :)
