OMG! Really?! Dish soap? Who comes up with that? I'm speechless! I have watched hundreds of polymer clay videos over the last 10 years, but this by far is the most incredibly mind blowing and beautifully creative thing I have seen. I think it would be just as beautiful without the colors, just resin for a subtle, elegant effect. Thank you! If I could give you a thousand thumbs up I would!! Wow.
suzy nissen Thank you so much Suzy. So many variations can be done with this technique. Your idea sounds amazing! 💜 Thank you so much for this comment. Your words along with all the other comments warm my heart more than you know. Thank you 💜💜
I agree! I love the effect. Now she had black clay maybe some white (different shades) and then the resin. I am thinking it would give a look of elegance!
Hi again Alison- I know I already commented under this video but now that I have finally tried the technique out I feel like I should share a few things I noticed. First though let me say again that I absolutely LOVE this! I think your pieces look so cool & beautiful that this is 1 of my very favorite tutorials/projects right now, thank you so much for sharing! So a few things I wanted to mention- I was at 1st upset thinking that I couldn't yet try making these bc I don't have black UV gel polish, only clear. And I'm sure others in my position have already figured this out but just for the sake of mentioning it anyway, you can just use a sheet of black clay & use your clear gel instead of black. In all honesty, it took me a few days before coming to that conclusion.. duhh! And on my 1st attempts at this I was having some trouble- the bubbles would be great on like 85% of the piece but there wouldn't be any bubbles on the remaining 15. I would do as you said, add more gel polish, more bubbles, uv light, etc, but it was only helping a little bit in some areas while others just would not keep the bubble texture whatsoever. So after some more playing around, I realized that the bubble effect seemed to work great in the areas where I was pretty stingy w/ my gel polish. And the spaces that wouldn't hold the bubbles at all seemed to have a thicker layer of gel. So it may be different for everyone else, but that's what I noticed. Also, I realized that if you put a very thin layer of gel polish on you get a slightly different look. You of course need enough in your layer to completely cover your piece, but i made the layers as thin as possible without causing empty spots. And 1 good thing about doing that is that the bubble texture shows up on the entire piece without any gaps every time, for me anyway. But the bubble texture is finer, more subtle & subdued than if your gel polish wasnt so thin. I love how they come out when you do that, so pretty. And lastly, I think- for those of you who do not have the Lumiere Halo paints, I have a suggestion that costs less then $4 a bottle- FolkArt Color Shift paints, believe it or not! ESPECIALLY the newer colors, or at least I think they are new since I only recently saw them for the 1st time. The original colors are nice but I'm not such a huge fan. But pretty recently I saw a few new ones at Walmart of all places & they actually looked really cool. So I got them & just used them on this bubble project & holy crap, they look amazing! Just in case anyone out there has stuck with this insanely long comment till now & are in fact interested at all, I'll tell you which ones specifically I've fallen in love with. Blue Flash, Plum Flash, Emerald Flash (those 3 colors look incredible when used together), Blue Violet Flash, Raspberry Flash & Dragon Flash. The blue flash shifts so beautifully from blue to purple but all the other colors I just mentioned have such a gorgeous golden undertone. I have the Lumiere halo paints & I think they're really pretty but I'm so glad I decided to try out the new color shifts also. While the Halo paints are certainly beautiful, they are on the expensive side & are pretty difficult to find at craft stores, while the color shifts are under $4 a bottle, are available at every craft store I've been in- not to mention freakin Walmart!- and I'm telling you, they look even better than the Lumiere paints. Well, that's my opinion at least. I wrote this hoping to maybe help someone out there but have to assume that no one bothered reading this whole thing. Oh well, maybe someday, I'll leave it just in case😁
I'm so sorry, last thing just in case this matters to anyone- when you use a very thin layer of your gel polish & you end up (hopefully) getting a perfect & beautiful bubble texture across your whole piece, you will find that you barely have any of those scraggly little hair/fur like pieces on the top. I actually havent had any at all since I started using a really thin layer of gel and so once it's all cured the only cleanup I have to deal with is sanding/filling the edges, unless I did it before baking the clay. So no need to file the tops of the bubbles!
Спасибо вам, мне было очень интересно прочитать ваше мнение. Я начинающий мастер. не знаю, найду ли я здесь в Египте такие краски,постараюсь. Очень хочется попробовать эту технику.
I have worked with clay, I have a cleaning business and I design jewelry BUT it had never accorded to me to combine them. clay, with soap and paint, WOW! I have found heaven! I am getting off the computer and go to my shop and work and this technic! LOVING IT!
WOW! This is amazing! I am so glad you took your mother to her nail appointment and saw this! You were very clever to apply this technique to polymer clay. Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to try this!
Beautiful technique , just a tip, I store all my mica paints upsidedown so the pigments stay in the lid when you undo them! Saves all the shaking! TFS!
Love this effect. I'm a nail tech and just now getting into polymer clay. Never thought of using nail techniques this way. Thank you for the inspiration!
hello madam i look at your chain with attention and i can say that you have ideas really interesting and very well detailed what is not always the case elsewhere so go and keep us dreaming and we will be amazed because for me you are the first by far in front of some who do not always show everything unfortunately also contemplate to surpass them with your dream tutorials. Thank you France
I am awestruck. This creative idea is frankly genius. I didn't just learn a new technique from you, but to keep my eyes open for new potential ideas. Glad to be a new subscriber.
I saw someone using this method using UV gel in a silicone coaster mould and use chameleon mica powders and the outcome was stunning as is your pendant. Thank you.
Coincidentally I had watched a nail tutorial showing the exact look and will definitely try it on my nails, but really nice to see this crossover into polymer clay. So very pretty. Thank you.
Joanna Matthews Thank Joanna 😊 I saw this technique done at the nail salon I took my mother to last week. All I could think when I saw it was, I can’t wait to get back home and try it on polymer clay! And here we are 😊
I have ALWAYS been fascinated with bubbles! What a fantastic way that now I can 'preserve' them! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I will definitely be trying this in the future! Yay! BUBBLES!!
O. M. G. That has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen! Who would have thought that dish soap would interact with the UV nail polish like that. Definitely am going to give this a try for sure. Thanks for sharing - that was awesome!
I first saw this tutorial about a year ago when I was a newbie. Stumbled on it again about a week ago so decided to order the paints and nail polish. They just arrived so I am ready to get started. Wish me luck!!
Absolument magnifique l'effet obtenus. Je connaissais l'effet bulles avec la résine mais avec ces peintures jacquard et la base en polymères et finition résine uv c'est carrément géniale :)
Ummmmmmm... That is the coolest polymer clay texture technique I have ever seen!!!! And I have seen a LOT. Thanks to the nail world! I'm going to do this! Thank you for sharing this! And I love your videos!
This is amazing!! Who would of thought that this could be done with dish soap bubbles?!?! This is going to be next on my list! Thanks for sharing this cool technique 😊
OMG! Dear Alison, I watched this fabulous video about 2 weeks ago and immediately bought the Jacquard Lumiere paints so I could try this incredible technique as soon as possible. Then the paints arrived a few days ago and - of course - I couldn't remember your instructions!! So, I spent hours looking up every polymer clay channel I could think of, trying to find this video, and when I finally found it, I realized I'd already downloaded it the first time I saw it - dear me, I've always been absent minded, but this is ridiculous. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful technique, love from Amanda in Australia :-) ;-)
Oh yay! I was just watching a video of someone doing this technique on her nails (my simple pleasures), and the whole time I’m thinking to myself, “I bet I could do this to polymer clay!” Now I don’t have to do the testing because YOU did it for me! lol Thanks!
C'est magnifique, je ne me lasse pas de regarder vos vidéos, qu'elle imagination!... je reste bouche bée, merci pour le partage, il me tarde d'essayer :)
Great technique, love it. Thank you for sharing 🌸💕 I know this is an older video but if it’s ok, just a tip, if you take the raw clay off the tile and place it on a clean tile before baking it’ll remove a lot of the messy edges greatly reducing the amount of sanding after baking. The raw clay will still stick to the clean tile.
Another advantage of using he'll nail polish is that it is self leveling, so you won't get streaks/brush marks. And it won't "dry" until it's cured, so you can take your time to get it right. Beautiful effect!!! I actually was watching this it get the technique for my nails and not polymer clay! Hahaaaaa! Now I can do both!
Wow impressive and so beautiful, who would have thought that there would be a use for dish washing liquid to make something so beautiful. I have learned a lot from this one video. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely Stunning! I saw this years ago, but completely forgot all about it. I am definitely going to make some now. I didn’t have UV resin, a UV light or any UV polish before, but my daughter gave me some. 🤔

Top coat it with clear nail polish maybe in lieu of the resin. It's hard to get nail polish off these days. Lol
Suzy, you took so many words right out of my mouth!
Stephanie Hancock 💜💜
