The. Best. Polymer tutorials on UA-cam. Easy to follow, clearly explained, specific, and most of all, nice pieces that are not childlike, silly, or tacky. I'm sitting with my pasta machine, tools, and clay in front of me - making and following along like a cooking show! Thank you!
This lady is amazing... I'm just on UA-cam trying to learn the best way to stick glitter on a clay cone I made, lol. I didn't even know this level of complicity was possible with something flat. Crazy good.
Tremendous teacher. So good at showing every step. Making no assumptions about what the audience knows. I'm an experienced clay user and I always learn something new. Thank you!
Just watched this from 3 years ago, so perfect. The cane looked pretty simple to make after putting it all together, it looks really intricate and such perfection. I saw the reply below, someone else who is so impressed with your voice, it is so calm and soothing. You are so talented, but I am sure everything takes time and practice, you have the patience, not sure I would, I don't need to I will just watch you. 🤩
Wow! Absolutely amazing! Your attention to detail and spending that extra time perfecting is what sets your tutorials and creations above all others. Your voice is so calm and soothing I could watch and listen all day! Thank you❤
Wow, you are talented! Never thought I'd be sitting on the edge of my seat over a polymer clay tutorial 👏👍 When you shaved off bits towards the end, all I could think about was the mental meltdown I'd have if I messed it up that far in 😅 Thank you for putting in so much time & effort to explain your process. Absolutely stunning!

Shibumi translates to “effortless perfection”. Of course your pieces are sheer perfection, but you make it look so easy too! I am in awe of your creativity and talent. You truly are in a league of your own.
Oh Fiona!! It's just fabulous. I don't even know how you keep out doing yourself over and over and over!! Beautiful and thank you so much for sharing!!!👏
I LOVE the longer, more challenging tutorials you offer. I am amazed you don't sell them! You could easily charge for what you produce, and have a line of waiting customers - not that I WANT you to, you understand, but still... I've been "doing clay" for 30+ years, and most tutorials seem to be aimed at the very beginner, or at most the advanced beginner level clayer. While this makes sense from the point of view of having the largest potential audience, it seems like a shame that there are so few things to lead people into more advanced or challenging projects. Your videos do this, while still being straightforward, very well-explained, and easy to follow. THANK YOU!
Thanks so much Gillian :) I do of course have some tutorials that I sell in my Etsy shop, and I have about 30 more ideas that I need to do as paid tutorials, so I am trying to get a good balance between doing these free ones, and doing ones that I get paid for too. That's the plan anyway ;)
I agree. I'm an advanced beginner but still feel like I learn so much, and I can watch and practice and set goals from her tutorials. She's just fabulous!
I just bought my first package of premo yesterday to see if I like working with clay. My first cane did NOT look like a flower, but I think I made all the parts too small. Now that I’ve seen this video, I think this will be my second attempt. LMAO!!!

Oh my gracious!!!! I love it! I'm a collector of small boxes from around the globe - in tin, rough-hewn semi-precious stones, in carved olive wood and carved soapstone. It would be excellent to have one I created myself in clay!!! One of these days....

I am on my third box from this tutorial. I designed my own canes. But the construction of the box is great. If I post a picture anywhere, I make sure to include in description that the inspiration came from this tutorial. And that the cane design is my own. I love your tutorials, they are so easy to follow.
In Mexico, there's handpainted tiles, bowls, cups and more that look like these designs. I loved going to the markets as a little girl and watching the ladies paint 🥰 this is probably my favorite tutorial of any I've watched! The direction and meticulousness of your tutorial is incredible, and the nostalgia it brings makes my heart so happy. I may try this and see how it goes, I love all hand crafts and you're an inspiration!
Thank you so much Zhana, and sorry I have only just seen your comment, I have found a lot to day that I obviously missed :( Even so, you have made my day, and thank you so much for your lovely comment :)
You've outdone yourself, Fiona! Again! Just beautiful, and with your tips, tricks and wisdom, as near to perfect as one can get! Thank you very much for all the time that you invested in this tutorial, it's much appreciated!
Thankyou so much for the inspo. I really appreciate the clear explaination of what you are doing and why. I am gaining confidence to attempt some miniature display plates and vases for my doll house. Your work is so beautiful, thank you again
Wow...you are not only an amazingly creative and beautiful artist but such and elegant and lovely soul as well...so sweet, kind, enthusiastic and loving...an absolute delight to listen to your voice and feel your energy...Thank You so much for being you...❤
I love the delft colours so much :) I have done many kaleidoscopes with them in the past in my own work, but realised I hadn't yet done a tutorial using them, so now I have :) Thank you :)
Hello Fiona, my dear you are truly a beautiful lady. I have just in the last 10 minutes found you here on your channel. The fact that you have taken your precious time and shared so much with us. I thought I was just going to be able to condition older clay, but WOW. I am 70, and just starting to play with clay. I was thinking as I was watching you condition your clay, OMGosh, you have had a lot of fun working with clay. I even had a pasta maker at the ready, so tomorrow, woo hoo. You art is fantastic, and I thank you again, and I am so appreciative, as so are many of your other fans. Hugs to you and I do hope you are all safe in your family. PS. I am going to play your video tonight, as I go to bed, your voice is so soothing. Nighty night. Sherie Rodrigues from Australia 🥰🤗🧡
What an absolute treat to wake up this morning to your wonderful tutorial! This is about as far over my head as the ocean, but as always I learn things by watching you. Thank you for the mountains of work that went into this video! It's simply awesome.
thank you so much Wendy :) (and I'm sure it's not really that far over your head, you are probably selling yourself way too short, as we all have a tendency to do ;) ) :)
I love the Delft tile aesthetic. There's just something about them. I love the colors, patterns, it's like a grown up kaleidescope of sorts, but you know... as tiles. lol Your project is gorgeous! I usually stream your videos to the tv and it's just wonderful to watch you work. Thank you for sharing!
Fiona- I apologize in advance- I know that I always write about a novel sized comment each time I leave 1, so I'm sorry. However, I'd 1st like to say thank you so very much for sharing this w/ us, your work is, as always, incredibly beautiful. And I really love that this is such a functional piece as well as a gorgeous one. You have left me in complete awe once again- besides how stunning this box is, the amount of time & work you clearly put into creating these amazing pieces & extremely helpful videos for us is just out of this world. You designed & created your own custom cane, you came up w/ a perfect way to create not just a beautiful box but a multi tiered one at that, you go through all the necessary supplies, you walk us through every single step so perfectly & patiently, you explain the reasons why certain things should be done in certain ways, you take the time to type out your own captions, you come up w/ what I think are such ingenious tips & tricks in order to do something (such as the string around box lid to give you the perfect amount of overlap & to help cut it out exactly right.. brilliant!), you even take the time to figure out, explain & show us exactly how much clay we'll need while considering to include a little extra so that we can be fully prepared ahead of time w/ enough clay while also ensuring we will have enough to not run out, and probably about a hundred more amazingly helpful things you say, do & show us which I am forgetting about at the moment. You know- I can not afford to spend any extra money each month by subscribing to different people on Patreon & I have to assume that I'm not the only one who can't do that. Yet it seems like almost everyone who once strictly showed tutorials on UA-cam have now all migrated over to Patreon. I more than understand wanting to get compensated for the time, effort, supplies & aggravation that are put into creating tutorials, but it just kind of sucks for people like myself who just can't possibly pay them each month for great videos. Of course if you opened up a Patreon account we'd all understand & I know that many people would happily contribute money to watch your tutorials, but for those of us in my position, I'm extremely grateful that you are still here on UA-cam. I know you have a whole slew of dedicated followers, subscribers, worshippers, etc. & by scrolling through the comments it seems like that group is full of many kind people who reach out to show their appreciation, and I'm so happy to see that. But I'd have to imagine that doing what you do must, at least at times, feel like such a thankless job- and yet, despite all the time, frustration, etc. it takes to do all of this, you still continue to do it. You are an amazingly talented polymer clay artist, and your tutorials are absolutely beyond exceptional. We are so lucky to have you share your incredible abilities with us and I hope you really do know just how loved & appreciated you are. Thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing your extreme kindness, patience & the other million amazing qualities you posses with the rest of us. We are incredibly fortunate to have you as a teacher & role model. Ok, I believe I'm finally about done. I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time w/ this ridiculously long comment, I just wanted to say all of that to you. Thank you again. You are appreciated, adored & admired more than you'll ever know💗 -Jasmine
Oh, and of course I pray that you & your loved ones are remaining healthy & safe. I'm currently stuck at home, quarantined alone in my apartment, while sick with the coronavirus. I can not even have my 2 kids home w/ me or anywhere near me for awhile and it has become quite lonely. I've been really scared lately, as we all have been, and I'm sad without having my boys here. I've been extremely bored & that of course causes me to fixate on all the stress, fear & anxiety I have for my boys, myself, and the rest of the world. I just lost my uncle to this damn virus that I'm currently fighting off, and that has only intensified the sadness & very negative feelings. Seeing your video, especially since it was a nice & long one, has really helped to not only take my mind off of all my troubles for awhile, but it has even uplifted my spirits quite a bit. And, of course, attempting to make your beautiful project has now given me something to do for awhile which will also be incredibly helpful. I believe that the world always needs to see examples of good people, but your kindness is needed & appreciated right now more than ever before. So again, thank you very very much, and please stay safe💗
Jasmine, I love reading your comments, I can almost hear you saying them to me, and I appreciate so much the time you take to write them. It is because of people like you that I do these tutorials, I just love working with polymer clay and sharing any of these sort of ideas I come up with. I then read your second comment, oh my goodness. I am so sorry you have the virus and that you lost your uncle to it. I can only imagine how scared and isolated you feel through it all, my heart goes out to you. Like you, I am stuck at home, although I have been very lucky so far and haven't got it. Stay strong, fight your way through it, and feel the big virtual hug I am sending you right now. :)
Beautiful. That is a lot of work but it is certainly worth the time. Still cannot figure out how you know how to get the effect you want. Guess it comes with time. I have made some ink pens and enjoy working with clays. Thank you for a great video. Well done. Like the US Navy says, Bravo Zulu.
Lol I started out with the bright idea to use a large unicorn cookie cutter and am watching and eyeing my cutter while seriously rethinking my life choices. Going to go for an oval first, lol. Thanks for.your amazing explanations!
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals I went for it and I realized that all those curves and bumps on the cutter are really tricky to teaae the clay off of after baking! I didn't use thick enough clay so it was pretty fragile, but I learned a lot by reinforcing it! If you'd like to see my haphazard first go: lol ibb.co/Cs96fb4 ibb.co/9gh1DXK
These trinket boxes are amazing! I love both patterns. This was a long video but thanks for making it all in one and not in parts. Again, beautiful work!!! ❤️
Hi Emily I have never done any clay before but I would love to have a go...... I sat and watched you in total oar of your work you are TERRIFIC I dont think I could ever dop anything like you have done that bpx is BEAUTIFUL thanks for sharing your talent with us and I shall just watch and leave it all up to the professionals like you. many thanks Debbie xxxxx🤤🤤 this is me watching you xxxxx💗💗💗
I was glued to the screen through the whole tutorial! Very fascinating watching you create with polymer clay! I'm constantly learning something new every time I watch your videos! Now to actually put what I have learned into practice! Thank you so much for sharing!
Tyvm for the tutorial. I took inspiration from your hexagon box and cane ideas from this one to create boxes to hold Christmas presents i decorated with clay. I was going to include photos of my project
Absolutely beautiful! I haven't done any poly clay work for a while - thankfully I do have all my supplies on hand. This could take the mind off the pandemic and be a very long satisfying project. Your timing is great and as always your tutorials are so complete and easy to follow - even when they are as detailed as this. Thank you for sharing your talents!
I am so glad you liked it, and yes, a long project was I thought quite appropriate when so many of us are in lockdown ;) thanks so much for your lovely comment :)
That made me smile :) You probably would be able to do it, but as long as drifitng off to sleep is okay with you, then I don't mind ;) Thanks Catherine :)
Beautiful and very antique work with this pattern l am impressed if I had not seen you doing it l would think it’s hand painted or a tile sticker but l have to admit it’s an amazing piece of art. 👍👏
Thanks for such a detailed tutorial. Your work is just amazing. My husband came in from the yard while I was watching and said you are the Bob Ross of polymer clay, because your voice is so gentle. TFS Mary
Yes, that's a perfect description, definite Bob Ross vibe. She just has to work in the expression, 'happy little accident', which would sometimes actually fît quite well.
So sorry to have only just seen this, I so hope it went well, and you are now making canes like crazy :) I wish you lots of luck even if it is a bit late ;)
I have always loved watching your tutorials as you have such a calming voice 😊 and as always a stunning out come 😍 I always love to sand my works as it always give a crisper finish to the designs thank you for sharing 😊😊😊
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals 😹😹I know what you mean Fiona but there is that satisfying feel of a piece once it’s been sanded to that perfect mirror finish as smooth as satin to the touch of the finger tips I love that feel and the satisfaction to see the perfect results that’s just under that very thin layer of clay where the lines of clay colours sit next to each other with that nice crisp look that is just not there on a fresh baked item 😹😹😹
Thanks so much :) I didn't actually make them to sell, so hadn't thought of a price as such :) There is a lot of work in one though - so it wouldn't be cheap ;) :)
I'm so glad you and your friends are enjoying the tutorial. I think I do mention at the end that I sand and polish the box. But if you want alternative finishes, you could varnish it, or add UV resin, or renaissance wax - there are so many different options that it is worth checking out The Blue Bottle Tree Articles - thebluebottletree.com/articles/ - as Ginger has lots of useful tips on which finishes to use. I hope that helps, and you continue to have fun with your boxes. 🙂
That was really impressive! I would never have the patience to do all of that. The box was absolutely exquisite! Such a beautiful design. I think it works very well in either colour. Can I ask, what do you do with the items you make? Do you give them as gifts or sell them online because you really are extremely gifted at making some beautiful things!
Fiona, after several personally troubled years and ignoring the clay passion, I stumbled upon your tutorials. You have single-handedly gotten me back into the craft. I want to thank you and tell you how much I enjoy your talent, your sweet, calm voice, and your teaching style! Just two projects in, I have learned a ton, and my life feels happier! Do you have any of the tutorials in print, or do you sell the instructions?
Oh wow, how wonderful, you have made my day Jody, I love hearing how someone has got back into polymer clay :) If you scroll down the video description above, (clicking on 'show more') it gives links to some of the paid tutorials I have, but I don't do hard copies of these free UA-cam ones. Thank you so much for your lovely comment :)
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals I wrote a few technical user guides years ago. Let me know if you would ever want any for your youtube videos! Thanks again. I love your tutorials-especially now during the home isolation! Stay healthy.
Thanks so much Rhonda :) In this one I am using FIMO Soft, but I also use FIMO Professional, Sculpey PREMO, Kato Polyclay and Cernit. I like all of them, they all have slightly different properties, so I use them according to the project I have on. I use FIMO Soft a lot on my UA-cam videos simply because I have a lot of it ;) it is the one I learnt with, and I think it is a l good all rounder for people starting out. It is also the most widely available in the UK, but in other countries PREMO id easier to find, and that is also good if you're starting out. I normally say in each of my videos which clay I am using for that project. I hope that helps ?
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial! I’m gathering supplies for this project. I was wondering if you could leave measurements for the products you are using so I can find similar products at my local craft store and hardware store. In particular, the measurements of the oval cookie cutter and the size of eye pin screws you use. Thank you!
thank you Jessica :) The link to the eye screws are in the details below the video, (follow the link and it gives the size ;) ) as is the link to where the oval cutter came from :) I purposely didn't mention the size of the cutter as I didn't want anyone to get hung up on that. I have already seen photos of wonderful ones made using square and round cutters, so you can chose what size/shape you want. If you still needed to know, then the oval cutter was 8cm, 3.25 inches long. I hope that helps :)
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals thank you for your quick reply! I tried the link for the eye pin screws before I wrote the comment and it doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know if it is just because I’m in the US and the link is for Amazon UK. But I did end up buying a variety set on amazon for a few dollars so I will be covered for the project! Also, I should take your advice on the size of the cutter! I’m so particular when it comes to these types of projects but I should learn to just use what I have and go with the flow a little more. So that’s what I’ll do! Starting the project now! Hope it turns out okay. Thank you so much! ☺️
I don’t know if anyone pointed out that out 24 minutes approx you said accidentally - I know it was accidental as you previously said to bake tented with foil - to tent with clay. I don’t know if you can put in a red alert or something for the sillies who might think you actually meant clay when you really meant foil. By the way, you are awesome. Found you via Turtle Bead Soup. New subbie here. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶 (who loves watching you tube with me)!!!!🤗
Oh my goodness I hadn't spotted that! I can't change the actual video now, but I can mention that in the notes above, thanks so much for pointing that out !! So glad you found me, I hope you carry on enjoying my videos as well as Turtle soup beads, who is of course, awesome :) Thank you Rosie :)
Are you able to insert a notice? Some people do put lettering across the relevant section. I don’t know anything about editing but can you do that? I love the blues that you’ve done... I love delft tiles and willow ware. The kaleidoscope tiles you made are just stunning... and I hope to fashion some “tiles” using this method. As for the tenting issue; good luck to anyone who tents with clay!!!! That’s just too funny if they do (sorry, I have a non-pc and irreverent sense of humour). Commonsense ain’t common anymore. 😄
@@ThorneyRose I have not found a way to add a notice after the video has been made public, I have just checked again the editing options, and can find nothing that allows you to change an element of the original video ! never mind these things happen. :)
Wow! Really cool to see how everything comes together. Quick question: doesn’t the sticky tape on the paper or PVA glue melt in the oven? I’m pretty nervous about what to put in the oven besides foil/parchment paper
Thanks so much :) No, both were fine, but if in any doubt, and I always do this before I try something on a new piece, give it a trial run in the oven first, at the setting you would use, stand by and watch/smell, to make sure it/they are okay to bake. Any sign of burning, remove whatever it is quickly and safely, and don't use that make/brand of tape/glue - or whatever else you are testing. So, always check first, then you know it is safe to use. I hope that helps? :)
This is the 4th video of yours I've watched now. You have a very soothing voice. Like soft spoken ASMR. I have a question though. I see when you are reducing that the center kind of sucks in. Like the cane is stretching around the middle. Is there a way to stretch the cane without it doing that?
Thank you Anya, canes naturally do that when you reduce them. You can buy the cane caps, cane savers which are small acrylic blocks that can sit on the end and 'hold' the clay in place. I mention them in this and other videos, and the details of where to get them are the video details above. They are relatively small sizes though, and usually not big enough for the big canes I often construct. I hope that helps :)
I have a technical question. I understand conditioning the clay and how it is like waking up the polymers. For baking the clay, does it matter if the polymers are awake? Will it matter if a piece sits for an extended time before baking?
Hi Kathy, sorry not to have seen this sooner - It is better if possible to bake straight away, but a few hours/even days should be fine. If you leave it to sit for months, cracks will appear and then those cracks would be in the final piece too. So you do have some time to leave it before baking, but don't leave it too long. I hope that helps? :)

Wow...you are not only an amazingly creative and beautiful artist but such and elegant and lovely soul as well...so sweet, kind, enthusiastic and loving...an absolute delight to listen to your voice and feel your energy...Thank You so much for being you...❤
oh wow, what a lovely comment, thank you so much Karen :)
I love to see the Delft’s colors like this. It’s from my country 🇳🇱 so I am a teensyweensy proud you picked these colors 💙🤍💙🤍💙
Thank you for such a wonderful comment Sherrie, I am so happy you are going to start playing with again, have fun and you stay safe too :)
I love how you simplify being precise. If I did canes/slices like this, I would 100% HAVE to line it up perfectly as possible! Lol
Lining it up perfectly is wonderful, definitely go for it :)
This was very time consuming but the details and finished box is so very beautiful. Thank you for this video and your time to do it.
thanks so much Dawn :)
You have an amazing talent! I really enjoyed watching you make this gorgeous trinket box.
Thank you very much :)
This is absolutely beautiful! THank you for taking the time to share the hints and how-tos of this project and so many others!
Thank you Donna :)
I have learned more from you and this video then anywhere else thankyou
I am so glad it was helpful, thank you :)
Love it, I now have a wonderful image of you curled up in front of the TV :) thanks so much Andrea :)
Fantastic work. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you very much Louisa :)
Thank you very much Edwin, and yes, I guess it really is all down to the amount of time you have worked with the clay to know :)
This is so beautiful and so enjoyable to watch. My husband is in awe of your skills
Oh wow, thanks so much, and thanks to your husband :)
Beautiful work, I love watching, might have a go with just one layer as I'm not that good yet, thank you, you are so patient 💐
Just have fun with it, thanks so much :)
Lol I started out with the bright idea to use a large unicorn cookie cutter and am watching and eyeing my cutter while seriously rethinking my life choices. Going to go for an oval first, lol. Thanks for.your amazing explanations!
Actually, I'm trying the unicorn cutter. Go big or go home, lol. Your calm voice gives me confidence! x
@@andie2439 Definitely go for it, I am sure it will be amazing :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals I went for it and I realized that all those curves and bumps on the cutter are really tricky to teaae the clay off of after baking! I didn't use thick enough clay so it was pretty fragile, but I learned a lot by reinforcing it!
If you'd like to see my haphazard first go: lol

These trinket boxes are amazing! I love both patterns.
This was a long video but thanks for making it all in one and not in parts.
Again, beautiful work!!! ❤️
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much Darla :)
I like your video and your soothing voice
Thank you very much Della :)
Absolutely beautiful I’m definitely going to try this when I get an oval cookie cutter xx 😘

Beautiful pattern as I like it very much. Thank you for sharing us. 👍
Thank you Helen :)
Such detailed work, incredible and beautiful piece.
Thank you very much :)
I was glued to the screen through the whole tutorial! Very fascinating watching you create with polymer clay! I'm constantly learning something new every time I watch your videos! Now to actually put what I have learned into practice! Thank you so much for sharing!
You are very welcome, thank you Kaycy :)
Tyvm for the tutorial. I took inspiration from your hexagon box and cane ideas from this one to create boxes to hold Christmas presents i decorated with clay.
I was going to include photos of my project
That is awesome! You can try and tag me on a social media site - links in the video description, to get me photos. Sounds like you had loads of fun :)
It's beautiful, but I would never be able to do it, all tho when I lay down to watch, your voice is so soft, I fall asleep, lol
That made me smile :) You probably would be able to do it, but as long as drifitng off to sleep is okay with you, then I don't mind ;) Thanks Catherine :)
Você é muito caprichosa!!!! Amo seu trabalho!
Muito obrigado :)
Beautiful and very antique work with this pattern l am impressed if I had not seen you doing it l would think it’s hand painted or a tile sticker but l have to admit it’s an amazing piece of art. 👍👏
Thank you very much :)
You are always so thorough. I love your videos. TFS
Thanks for such a detailed tutorial. Your work is just amazing. My husband came in from the yard while I was watching and said you are the Bob Ross of polymer clay, because your voice is so gentle. TFS Mary
Oh wow, I love that, I love Bob Ross !! What a compliment, thanks so much :)
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals your very welcome 🙂
Yes, that's a perfect description, definite Bob Ross vibe. She just has to work in the expression, 'happy little accident', which would sometimes actually fît quite well.
You make it look so easy I am building the courage to make my first cane ! Wish me luck lol
So sorry to have only just seen this, I so hope it went well, and you are now making canes like crazy :) I wish you lots of luck even if it is a bit late ;)
That is amazing! Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much! :)
Absolutely love this project! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much :)
I have always loved watching your tutorials as you have such a calming voice 😊 and as always a stunning out come 😍 I always love to sand my works as it always give a crisper finish to the designs thank you for sharing 😊😊😊
I am glad I am not the only one who likes the sanded finish, even if it is hard work ! thank you Angela :)
Thank you Fiona, for sharing this amazing tutorial is totally marvelous. Regards from Venezuela!!!
Thank you Maria, regards form the UK, stay safe :)
I really love your work!! Beautiful ❤

Amazing!!
Thank you so much :)
Oh boy! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this cane tutorial since I saw it on Instagram. It’s so beautiful!😍😍😍
thanks so much Beckie :)
What a great piece. May I ask what this box would be sold for?
Thanks so much :) I didn't actually make them to sell, so hadn't thought of a price as such :) There is a lot of work in one though - so it wouldn't be cheap ;) :)
Stunning like always!!😍😍
thanks so much Paulina :)
Thankyou for your tutorial, I and a friend have done three elements in the cane so far....a few more on Sunday. What do you use to polish the clay?
I'm so glad you and your friends are enjoying the tutorial. I think I do mention at the end that I sand and polish the box. But if you want alternative finishes, you could varnish it, or add UV resin, or renaissance wax - there are so many different options that it is worth checking out The Blue Bottle Tree Articles - thebluebottletree.com/articles/ - as Ginger has lots of useful tips on which finishes to use. I hope that helps, and you continue to have fun with your boxes. 🙂
Thankyou for your reply:)
@@ruthyj5020 You're welcome 🙂
I am going to make this now!
Fantastic, thanks Ruth :)
Stunning and beautiful work!!! quick question, do you use a regular stove oven or is it convection or toaster? I´m a newbie
Thank you :) I use a little table top convection oven for smaller pieces, and my regular kitchen oven for bigger pieces :)
Wow, wow, wow!
thank you so much Jan :)
amazinng!!!
Thank you so much Sena :)
AWESOME!!!!!!
Thanks so much Alesia :)
Perfection.
Thanks so much Lee :)
Thakns so much Carly :) A mixture of the above ;) some I keep, some do go as gifts, but other pieces are for sale if people want them :)
Fiona Abel-Smith PolyOriginals
I wrote a few technical user guides years ago. Let me know if you would ever want any for your youtube videos! Thanks again. I love your tutorials-especially now during the home isolation! Stay healthy.
Your amazing. I just stumbled Upon your channel today. Wow. Can I ask what kind of clay you use?
Thank you Fiona for responding. I truly appreciate it. I’m excited to give this a try in the near future
It's beautiful😍
A beautiful box Fiona :)
Thanks so much Rosie :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals great point. That does help, thank you!
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals I heard you mention the cane caps/savers, but didn't quite get how they worked. Thanks for the info.
