I think the Nitro Deck + is better if you map the 4 face buttons to the back paddles. Then you have a full grip with the thumbstick were your hands naturally go and still have access to the 4 buttons without having to reach down to them.
Yeah I was hyped for this and looking at it with you holding it, I’ll gladly stick to using my Satifye Grip for the extra space for my right hand. It dosnt look big boy friendly.
I haven't got mine yet but I would just use the back buttons and extra side buttons instead of the face buttons for shooters and I'd personally just stick with the D-pad for platformers.
I went on a limb and decided to buy one because it might work well fine with my smaller hands But a steam deck or just a better layout in general would be preferred. It really held me back till I tested the button placements by pretending with my joycons, but it's still not the most conducive layout, I just have small to average sized hands. I think for grip, at least the plus is consistent so I can grip from the same spot symmetrically, and also not hit the analog stick with the meaty part of my palm when playing Mario Wonder.😂
Never owned the original until recently . This was my first deck and at first wasn’t happy so I ordered the original on Amazon and sent it right back . This feels 100 times better than the old version . The rumble makes a huge difference as well.
I’ve had both Hori split pads - OG pro and compact and love them but the lack of gyro and rumble sucks. I passed on the first nitro deck and still on the fence about this one. I play mostly shooters so it could work but the vertical layout worries me some. Thanks for the honest review
I can't speak to how improved (if at all) the rumble is on the Plus, but the rumble on the original Nitro Deck is worse than no rumble at all. Just a warning.
@@shoyzdukes oooh okay that’s good to know! Amazon has the original nitro deck for $50 usd. You think it’s worth that price considering the new one out now?
@@bigslack_ As long as you keep your quality expectations in check and only compare it to third-party controllers (ie MadCatz) rather than name-brand, which is fair given it costs well less than Joycons, it's a decent $50 controller+grip combo, just with some quality nags. But given the choice, I'd lean towards the Plus for the symmetrical sticks, or perhaps the Mobapad M6 if you don't mind it not being one-piece (as the reviews for those seem stellar otherwise). But if you want the platformer control layout in a one-piece case design, it's decent. I am looking into the feasibility of modding new rumble motors for sure though.
I spent a few days to get used to this new deck. I was kind of let down initially. After a few days, I kind of like it. It’s definitely not perfect. I hope in the future, they can borrow more from the Steam Deck for button layout
Virtually made for fps. Just have to map the buttons to the back ones and you're good to go. With any level of competitiveness keeping your thimbs on the sticks is huge
They either need to go steamdeck or at least full wii u and made the buttons diagonally down. Thats why the Wii u tablet worked but if you make them vertical you have to crunch your thumb vs sliding them
My complaint about everyone’s critique on the joystick placement is as follows. This machine is not in my eyes meant to play high octane first person shooters or something like that where high use and precise use of the right joystick is required. The 99% of games I play I barely even touch the right joystick, so it’s not a big deal and I think I might the original better

Finally! A video where they show the gameplay and example of how it would look since I have large hands. Great review! Thanks you! 🎉
@@BananaFingrs thanks for the kind words and watching!
They should have just matched the steam deck button and thumbstick layout. Way more comfortable.

The Satisfye grip is good. And I use mine all the time. But the thumbsticks on the Nitro Deck + are fantastic!

Your a baller! That is not easy! At least for me. Lol
Listened and watched! Thanks for the video and the feedback dude 🤝
Awesome! Thanks for watching!

Great advice about the power cable; seen way too many bricked/damaged switches from third party chargers 😢

I 100% agree. It was alot more comfortable!
Doesn’t remind me much of a steam deck, but it really reminds me of the Wii U game pad. Like it looks like a updated Wii U.
I wish they would have actually made it like the Steam Deck

@@shoyzdukes I wasn’t aware of the mobapad controllers, those look sick. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I agree. The rumble is horrible on the og. The plus is way better!

Amazon link to buy this nitrodeck + ?
I have the CRKD link in there. Buy I will add in the Amazon link if its up
Did it fix the scratching the rear of OLED switch?
Not sure yet. Havent used it enough
@@officialnofriendoI’m curious as well
@@STyonk I haven't had any scratching on mine!
Does it have gyros ?
I dont think so.
Didnt like it, ive gone back to original nitro, right buttons are too way down to be comfortable to use with right shoulder buttons
I felt the same on the first day, but after a couple days. It feels about the same as the other one to be honest lol
No way it's way more comfortable to have the buttons on the bottom than the stick
That's what the back buttons and sides are for
I honestly wasn’t happy with it at first but actually got use to it pretty quick , the old one just isn’t as good as this.
gracias
Someone should make one with the layout just like the Steam deck. Money is being lost.

I don’t like it the buttons are to low makes my hand cramp I’ll stick with my satisfied
How is getting the oled out of it?
Much easier! It just pops up now!
