Thank you all for checking out this 4 part Bluefin Tuna series (part 4 will be released soon). You can check out the entire series here - ua-cam.com/play/PLsz2XMNXn3k-JN6wAmqJZ9VbzFvvT4MsJ.html
I just wanted to say this series of videos for Bluefin are among the best on line. Anthony does a great job at covering the bases not only covering the How but the Why's. I will suggest using the San Diego knot, I have been using it for over 30+ years and has never failed me. Those of you who have never been to Save On Tackle, well your missing out! Again great job young man!
Thank for such a kind and thoughtful comment and thank you for sharing your experience with the SD knot. I'm finally gaining confidence to tie it better and faster...fantastic knot for sure. And agreed, Sav On is terrific!!
i plan on coming down to san diego eaither this season or nexr for tuna and this was my very first queastion was hoiw to set up a rubberband sinker live bait is the truth! thanks benjie and save on tackle!
Oh man I hope you get down here and get into a bite. Lots of grinding but once the boat finds em it is so much fun. I recommend getting on a 1.5 day if possible.
been really waiting for this one! I saw that lately, people were using 100lb sinker rigs, at that point, would you even need flourocarbon since the line is so big?
What's up Victor! You're right, no practical need for fluoro when you're dropping down that deep and targeting big ones. At that point, the only reason to have it on there is for the abrasion resistance and to utilize the connection for stopping your sinker.
That's a good question and I'm honestly not sure, might be the size issue like you mention, or I wonder if there's any abrasion when attaching a rubber core. I'll ask Anthony next time I get the chance!
Not that I'm aware of. However, if you go into the shop and tell Anthony you're there cuz of this video, he might help you out a bit. No promises and nothing formal though!
Benji i noticed your boy alex mention that once the sinker is inline it wont helicopter….. in my experience thats what makes the bait and hook helicopter “unless” you let the bait out very slowly. Thats the MOST important part. Also using more than one sinker is not a good idea !! Ive seen people do two 6 oz weights and it just doesnt work as well. Good luck everyone

Perfect timing for this video to come out! Great job!
Awesome Joe, thank you so much!
Thanks for doing all these videos. I always learn something from them!
Greatly appreciate it Eugene, I hope you'll be able to make my charter in September. And happy anniversary again!
You guys are awesome. You both should have your own podcast and UA-cam shows. Loving the vids. Keep doing it🔥
Again. These videos are the best. I"m still chasing a yellow tail so i can use this rig too. Thanks Benjie
Thanks so much man, I haven't caught a yellowtail in awhile myself. Hopefully I'll be able to tug on a few this year and the same for you!
Are you doing mono to flouro in this example? If so, are you doing braid to mono to flouro?

Great series! Looking forward to that speed jig video!
Sav on tackle is one of my favorite shops ,great info seems like this technique can be used for other types of fish 🐟
Agreed re Sav On and this is certainly a technique that ought to be a part of one's arsenal when offshore!
Thanks Benjie, these are great videos!
Thanks so much Chaz, greatly appreciate it!
Seeing you still doing the charters for the people
What size rubber bangs are best?
How do you feel about the drop shot sinker rig? And witch way to set it up? Thank you
Awesome vid, thanks 👍🏼.
thanks so much for checking it out, I hope it can be helpful for some!
Great tutorial!
Appreciate it Kevin, thank you!
Hello! Are sinkers used more on the light set-up or on a medium set-up? New angler here.
In general it’s more of a medium set up in the 50 lb test range. Tight lines!
UNCLE BENJIE STILL MY HERO IN 2022
much love to you chance!! always, always appreciate your encouragement brotha!

What boat are you planning to charter in September? I have a limited load booked on the "Success" in SD.
I chartered the Vendetta 2 out of H&M for both this Sunday and September, both full days. Crossing my fingers for good conditions!
Why not use rubber core sinkers? Is it that they don't come in large enough sizes?
That's a good question and I'm honestly not sure, might be the size issue like you mention, or I wonder if there's any abrasion when attaching a rubber core. I'll ask Anthony next time I get the chance!
Any sales coming up in store?

What reel would you suggest for flyline fishing.
You could do a Shimano torium 16hg or a Okuma Tesoro 15 and for spinning you could do a Shimano Saragosa 14k or an Okuma cedros 8k
you guys dont use swivels?
Definitely need fluoro top shot just because tuna have really good eyes 👀👀
Is Anthony still with the company?
Yo Anthony 🤙
how to overcomplicate tying on a sinker then a leader..damn
Why don't we just Carolina rig this??
Yall talk to much. Just get straight to the point ffs
I used to love fishing for tuna but now it's only for the rich!! Good job California, your halfway to banning fishing in California!!!
