Ridden this a few times and it just amazes me how a coaster which looks small on scale manages to keep such a high pace throughout you really go into the brake run with so much speed left. I love the final inversion it's so low to the ground and took my breath away when I first rode it
This RMC looks absolutely amazing. It is like my dream coaster, it's got airtime, pacing, inversions, wip, hangtime, pretty much everything you would want on a coaster besides posatives. It looks a lot like Twisted Timbers in a way, just airtime hill after another after another and you spend more time out of your seat than in your seat. Great review!

Great review for a great coaster! As you say the coaster is relentless and the mixture of the inversions and crazy airtime makes a trip to Walibi Holland certainly worth it. I just wish it was a little closer to home because I really want to get more rides on it. Granted both rides I did have were in the back row so I'm not complaining. Keep the good work!👍
@@CanobieCoaster I enjoyed the review and analysis too! I just particularly liked the bears and their flapping arms in all the movement of the trains LOL
Robin Hood was great FUN, it had a great layout and pacing and wasn't neutered with a slowed lift hill or ANY trims. It was actually pretty rough, even after retracking, but not rough in a painful way if that makes sense? More of a "out of control" wooden coaster kind of way. Like a persistent rock n rumble. I rate it 8/10 cause there were some truly extreme airtime moments in both the front and back, and both seats offered such a different ride. I have NOT been on untamed. It looks absolutely breathtaking. The first drop looks weak compared to most RMC's but the rest is taking my breath away even on POVs. The airtime in the back seat looks other worldly.
@@CanobieCoaster Oh for sure, but for me I can tell I'd want to sit on that back row all day if I could! I've compared every RMC coaster currently on planet Earth, and for me, the three that seem to have the best pacing and overall layout are Untamed, Zadra and Iron Gwazi. It's not always about length. Those three are just perfect coasters overall in my opinion. ArieForce one looks to be added to that list, and I can't wait.
I went on it yesterday, it was my first rmc, it was so amazing and smooth it didn’t even feel like a real rollercoaster, and the airtime and hangtime damn.
This ride seems like wicked cyclone if all of the problems were fixed, and I absolutely loved what wicked cyclone was trying to do, so this ride is gonna be insane, I think twisted timber’s is probably slightly better as the best small scale RMC but I could definitely see if untamed is better
It's really incredible how much better both Twisted Timbers and Untamed hold their speed compared to Wicked Cyclone. I think Untamed is quite a bit better than Twisted Timbers though. Twisted Timbers has a few elements that don't work for me- those little speed bumps and most of the turnarounds.
I absolutely love this ride! It is my #1 coaster overall. It takes a while to warm up, but when it hauls, it hauls! I got to talk to a ride op who works on Untamed after the park closed and he told me, that on warm summer evenings, the coaster is even faster than it is advertised, around 95-97 km/h and you can really feel it because it seems the entire ride is out of control. Let’s hope the theme parks will open soon (and that it is possible to travel to the Netherlands) so we can enjoy this beauty of a coaster again!
Just rode this on October 29th for Fright Fest.. We had fast passes so we could ride over and over all day and night.. They had zero lights on for Halloween and the back seat in pitch black was the most insane experience I have ever had on any coaster.. It was a non stop ride of total insanity. For sure going to come back again next year for the Halloween Fest.. They do an AMAZING job with the rides and the crazy lighting and sound on all the rides.. I did get some footage of the rides and the lighting for Halloween which I will put up once I return to the states..
Going true the tunnel and being 6 feet and just 16 yet is somethin' that legit scared me when I rode it 😨 and the airtime is enjoyable strong and it has in my opion the world best pacing on a coaster
Nice review! Untamed is my 2nd favorite coaster with only Taron ranking above it, mainly due to the restraints. I've also ridden Robin Hood and it was definitely not smooth in its last year, but it still had some decent airtime. The operators actually allowed me to check the restraints and dispatch the train for a cycle, so that was pretty fun tho
Since Vekoma had only built three wooden coasters, and since this was their prototype, and since, as you pointed out, it was not a clunker, I would have thought it would have been worth saving for the future as a woodie. I suspect that the ACE group might have argued for that if it had been in the US. While it's possible that the cost of retracking wooden coasters is more expensive than having RMC redo it, I suspect it's more about a park having RMC bragging rights and attracting a particular ridership. All that is understandable. I hate to see so many old wooden coasters disappear. A new RMC is great for those who love them. Replacing a good old wooden coaster with an RMC hybrid may wind up a shortsighted trade. But that's just senior me talking. My only experience with an RMC was Wicked Cyclone, and I didn't have a good time on it. I appreciate RMC's engineering and creativity; they make coasters for the current generation of riders, and from your reviews, it's a match made in heaven.
@@CanobieCoaster I didn't ride the original, so you may be right. My concern was more general--in 50 years, are enthusiasts going to bemoan the loss of a coaster that's an original or landmark or prototype. Not everything needs to be saved, but it's an important question to ask.

I cant believe that we have no RMC in the UK yet. The Grand National at Blackpools Pleasure Beach is that old it is rough and could do with a retrack ! A RMC duelling coaster would be great.
I Love Untamed, It's just such an insane ride! I personally Prefer the frontrow because of that Dubbel up sideways turn, It's just amazing in the front. For Robin Hood, it's better that it's gone. I've done it in its last season and how good your ride was depended on where you were sitting. Sitting above the wheels (front or back row of a carriage) already or sitting in the middle made a huge difference in bumpiness. Also you either had to sit in the front car or in the last car because the 2 middle ones just felt like they were constantly hitting and bumping against the cars around them.
@@CanobieCoaster Honestly I'll probably never ride it I haven't even been on any RMC yet. Sorry, Kondaa now opened but Untamed is still on top by a mile. Don't get me wrong, Kondaa is a top coaster imo, but no world beater at all. Greets from germany, stay healthy!
Best RMC in Europe and best airtime machine in Europe. This ride has so many of these ridiculous sharp ejector pops that you really begin to feel on your legs after several rides. The four mini bunny hops at the end still provide my favorite airtime ever!
Did ride it today. It was my first RMC and I agree this is a 10/10 coaster. Ops could be a bit better they were stacking the trains the whole day sometimes the second train did stand like 2mins in waiting position till they finally sent out the other one.
I'm surprised about your opinion about the double inverting stall, as that element sadly didn't do too much for me. I feel like the ride really starts to shine in the return trip, as everything from the double up on is absolutely relentless and aggressive, but before that it's still really good and even the weaker elements are still fun.
Is it typical of RMCs to have a big speed differences in tbe late afternoon vs morning? I've only ridden Untamed and Zadra, but they were both very noticeably faster later in the day. Other coasters seem to have much less of a difference. Untamed actually felt sluggish in the morning, which I did not expect, but decently quick around 4pm (though I'd have preferred a little bit more speed even then). Zadra went from fast in the morning to "holy crap this is out of control" later in the day.
@@CanobieCoaster I wonder what it is about RMCs that seems to cause this so much, or at least makes it so noticeable. Do they actually do speed up more than other manufacturers, or is there just something about the track layout that makes the speedup more obvious. I'm not quite yet at the stage of standing by the rides with a stopwatch, but we'll see...
rode it 9 times yesterday ( waiting time was between 5 and 30 minutes throughout the day) with the restraints as loose as possible for maximum airtime :) if i have to state 1 flaw ( which is also a HUGE positive ) it's that all rides in the park feel very weak after this one
I haven't been on Zadra yet. I hope to get to Energylandia this summer if international travel is allowed. But I prefer this to Wildfire since it has better pacing.
Absolutely. Wildfire is insanely overrated, and Zadra, while a great coaster, definitely feels like budget Schilke; ie, something he tossed together on the cheap/fly. Feels uninspired. Of the 6 RMCs I’ve ridden (TwiCo, Goliath, Untamed, Zadra, Hakugei, Wildfire), Untamed was by far & away the best of the lot
This thing and Wildfire are my two bucket list coasters in Europe, hopefully when the pandemic is finally over, I'll be able to travel to European parks.
Have you ever played those God of War games because for the past two days I’ve been thinking about future roller coaster themes and I had an RMC Hybrid or RMC Wooden Coaster themed to the games in my head
Heavy elements, yet whisper quiet… a dazzler, a dream, a delight. Watch the POV movie by Walibi. The sounds are so blissful… A constant warm whizz and an occasional clicking sound. That clicking sound is a tally counter, registering very specific thoughts of the riders on board. It clicks every time a passenger realizes that they feel more affection for this ride, rather than for their actual life partners. One side note; somehow the dispatching was tedious to watch as a single rider. For my future visits, I probably will get the fast-pass to handle that
There's actually one thing about Rocky Mountain Construction that prevents them from being my favorite roller coaster manufacturer, and it's those leg restraints on the lap bars that push against your knees. While those don't affect me at all, they do make it extremely difficult for my mother to comfortably fit in because she had knee replacement surgery a few years back, and those knee restraints cause he to bend the knees back too much which can make these rides extremely uncomfortable for her when going over those ejector hills, and that's not fair because it causes her to miss out on some of the most amazing roller coasters in the industry. Even Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom has those knee restraints as well, and that's not even an RMC coaster. So what I want to know is why do these coasters have thise restraints in the first place? F.Y.I. If the answer is to prevent guests from standing up while riding, I don't see how that's possible. If a lap bar is pushed all the way down to your waist, standing up should be unheard of.
europeen parks should invest more in rmc coasters. except for untamed i dont know any other. would love to try out a rcm raptor. energylandia has one but is to far to travel from my native land belgium or are the others?
Untamed is very good, but, being tall, I felt really cramped up in those overbearing reatraints. That kept me from really enjoying the airtime. I still take Troy over this as my favourite ride in the country. I'm just a bit contrarian like that.
i rode it yesterday, it's insane! it's my new number 1! (this might be controversial, but i like lost gravity better than goliath, goliath had great airtime, but it had an annoying rattle, lost gravity for me, was smooth as hell.) by the way, when i went, untamed broke down once, and when i was in the queue, they put on a second train to clear the queueline, so yeah, i guess they still have those problems, but not so much.
Well, robin hood not being that rough is not something I would fully agree with as a frequent Walibi visitor. Compared to Condor (the first ever vekoma SLC), it was "smooth". But if you would not sit in the middle of the 6-person cars in the train, you'd absolutely leave with a headache.
I have to agree. Both rollercoasters were only a one off experience for me. Not because I didn't go to wallibi again, but because they were both so painfull. The condor being the worst offender.
Did it have the Vekoma trains until the end? They were super comfortable but also very, very heavy and meant their coasters needed a lot more maintenance than normal.
Say whatever you want about the ride, it's amazing; but you cannot dispute the fact that these teddy bears on a roller coaster are the cutest things ever :D
75% of my coaster credits came after college when I got my job. I work for a multinational company, so I travel to other company sites, conferences, suppliers, and customers.
He’s a trust fund kid, obviously lol, just like most of the higher profile coaster reviewers (Bannister, Fatt Alvy, Tyler DiIdo, etc, all spoiled rich white kids) However, it’s not like traveling is expensive anymore. This isn’t 1949 😂. Just find a budget plane ticket & go somewhere.
This ride is awesome! I personally prefer Taiga and EGF, but god damn this ride looks great! Can’t really decide wether this or Wildfire is better tho...
One of the weirdest things I've ever seen is that Untamed first ran the full train in the morning, in the evening they somehow closed the back car, and even later in the evening they closed the second to last car... I don't know what's happening here but I can't imagine that this is what all RMC's do
I love this thing, but the leg restraints are fucking painfull when you are tall. But i dig thatt i can go on every coaster in Walibi because i am 2,03m (6'9") which is quite rare as they have 5 coasters
Anything over 135 degrees is technically an inversion, although it may not always feel like it. 3 of the 5 inversions on Maxx Force don't feel like inversions.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out what the third inversion on Storm Chaser was until I realized a severe overbank was being counted. Whatever you call the element on this ride, it's great.
I love Untamed an it is my no1 but I don’t think that it is the best Coaster in Europe, Zadra, Taiga, Wildfire and when it opens Kondaa and The ride to happiness are in my opinion probably better rides. Hopefully I can ride some of these this year.
No wonder that this is my favourite coaster🔥🤷🏼♂️ but mabye Zadra or Kondaa will take the spot but I think Kondaa has a better chance to get my new number one as Zadra. Kondaa's layout look as perfect as Untamed's but we will see😁
Well maybe you should give Condor a second try, they changed the restraints so thats pretty nice But yeah I can see why its shit but at the same time it was the first SLC to be built so yea
Love how mans said online twist when it’s a heart line roll and how mans said the “off axis hill” banked 140 degrees. it’s called a 140 degree stall🤦♂️

Best RMC in Europe and best airtime machine in Europe. This ride has so many of these ridiculous sharp ejector pops that you really begin to feel on your legs after several rides. The four mini bunny hops at the end still provide my favorite airtime ever!
I love all that airtime.
Did ride it today. It was my first RMC and I agree this is a 10/10 coaster. Ops could be a bit better they were stacking the trains the whole day sometimes the second train did stand like 2mins in waiting position till they finally sent out the other one.
People always seem to be blown away by their first RMC.
@@CanobieCoaster Definitely a very unique coaster specially compared to all the other major German coasters which are the only other credits I have.
I could easily get their (not now obviously) and this has really made me want to go more
This ride alone is worth it, but their top three in general is great.
Yeeeeeeee
I'm surprised about your opinion about the double inverting stall, as that element sadly didn't do too much for me. I feel like the ride really starts to shine in the return trip, as everything from the double up on is absolutely relentless and aggressive, but before that it's still really good and even the weaker elements are still fun.
I love the hangtime on that weird stall.
Depends on the coaster, but I've seen several RMCs speed up.
Definitely one of my bucket list coasters. I expect this to be up in my rankings with lightning rod (currently #1) and I have been on SteVe
It's a mini Steel Vengeance.
rode it 9 times yesterday ( waiting time was between 5 and 30 minutes throughout the day) with the restraints as loose as possible for maximum airtime :)
if i have to state 1 flaw ( which is also a HUGE positive ) it's that all rides in the park feel very weak after this one
I still preferred the other rides even if this is the star.
Is better than Zadra or Wildfire? mmmm, good video! 👍🏼
I hope so!
Love the guys shirt at 9:09
Multiple operators wore that shirt.
Top 10 in the world
One of the best RMC’s
Absolutely!
The best RMC besides SV & IG, and *maybe* Hakugei, TwiCo, & L-Rod
@@theninthheart4736 zadra is also better imo
That thing you said about RMC having to go through venom a for European it really makes me think does b&M love intamin or gravity group love gci
Vekoma*
I'm not sure.
Awesome video like it ride look good keep going brilliant video 😄👍
Thanks!
2:51 element is so good
I love everything on this ride.
Have you ever played those God of War games because for the past two days I’ve been thinking about future roller coaster themes and I had an RMC Hybrid or RMC Wooden Coaster themed to the games in my head
I never played God of War, but I'm familiar with the game.
Heavy elements, yet whisper quiet… a dazzler, a dream, a delight.
Watch the POV movie by Walibi. The sounds are so blissful…
A constant warm whizz and an occasional clicking sound.
That clicking sound is a tally counter, registering very specific thoughts of the riders on board.
It clicks every time a passenger realizes that they feel more affection for this ride, rather than for their actual life partners.
One side note; somehow the dispatching was tedious to watch as a single rider.
For my future visits, I probably will get the fast-pass to handle that
I've had to get fastpass for this since it has been on one train in both my visits.
Love it when people think 1:30-2 hours is a long wait, cedar point is my home park you’d be lucky to find a 90 minute coaster wait lmfao
I know Cedar Point gets swamped. 90 minutes is still a long wait by most standards.
That's a fair take. They don't bother me, but I know they can be an issue for others.
europeen parks should invest more in rmc coasters. except for untamed i dont know any other. would love to try out a rcm raptor. energylandia has one but is to far to travel from my native land belgium or are the others?
Europe also has Wildfire at Kolmarden and Zadra at Energylandia.
I think i rode robin hood before the retracking because it defintitely did beat me up like damn
I only rode Untamed.
@@CanobieCoaster i also rode untamed as well, it felt like the best improvement ever. Now the old-school vekoma slc😂😂
9:46 i mean, rmcs don't really focus on +'s. So to me that wouldn't really be a weakness.
It isn't for me either, but I had to note it since some look for those.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah i guess i can see it, but ik i wouldn't notice it cuz it already had other great sensations.
Untamed is very good, but, being tall, I felt really cramped up in those overbearing reatraints. That kept me from really enjoying the airtime. I still take Troy over this as my favourite ride in the country. I'm just a bit contrarian like that.
You're not the first tall person I know to have an issue with these restraints.
Untamed is still mainly a one car ride. Been to walibi 3 times in the last 3 years and it was always one car.
That's a bummer.
im going to ride it this summer, my expectation is at least top 3
It's amazing!
yes i think so too
i rode it yesterday, it's insane! it's my new number 1!
AHHH I WENT IN IT YESTERDAY IT WAS SOOO GOODDDD
Glad you liked it!
I wish I could ride this how does it compare to zadra?
Zadra focuses on speed and quality while this is about quantity (and good quality too).
This ride will always be my number 1, with Zadra and Iron Gwazi behind!
SteVe can go cry at number 6.
Wow!
Well, robin hood not being that rough is not something I would fully agree with as a frequent Walibi visitor. Compared to Condor (the first ever vekoma SLC), it was "smooth". But if you would not sit in the middle of the 6-person cars in the train, you'd absolutely leave with a headache.
Ah ok. I never heard that one talked about as being awful like the other RMC converts.
My home park! And untamed is king!
I love it.
Did you like wildfire and untamed, two RMC coasters?
Love both.
The issues are gone. Ow and they are retheming all of the park in a festival vibe. That's why it kinda feels like a party aswell
Good!
Say whatever you want about the ride, it's amazing; but you cannot dispute the fact that these teddy bears on a roller coaster are the cutest things ever :D
I like how other parks copied it.
How do you have the time and money to go to all of these international theme parks?
75% of my coaster credits came after college when I got my job. I work for a multinational company, so I travel to other company sites, conferences, suppliers, and customers.
He’s a trust fund kid, obviously lol, just like most of the higher profile coaster reviewers (Bannister, Fatt Alvy, Tyler DiIdo, etc, all spoiled rich white kids)
However, it’s not like traveling is expensive anymore. This isn’t 1949 😂. Just find a budget plane ticket & go somewhere.
I have no doubts that this is an elite coaster, but I find it hard to believe it's better than Zadra. How do you think it's better than Zadra?
I haven't been on Zadra yet. I hope to get to Energylandia this summer if international travel is allowed.
@@CanobieCoaster Aha!
This ride is awesome! I personally prefer Taiga and EGF, but god damn this ride looks great! Can’t really decide wether this or Wildfire is better tho...
I think this has better pacing than Wildfire, but I love both those rides. Expedition GeForce is amazing too.
Still looking for that 5th inversion
That 140 degree overbank is counted as an inversion. It feels like a mix of a wave turn and a zero-G roll.
@@CanobieCoaster that’s a bit odd plus Rcdb only says 4
@@jrax1713 Oh lol
Basically an element is counted as an inversion when it banks over 135 degrees
this thing is insane, especially at 11pm at night after it has been running al day.
It was great all-day for me.
What's the section or part of the ride you did like the most?
Probably the first inversion.
This is my favourite
One of the best.
I had no idea that the people that live in Holland resemble bears! : )
The theming?
@@CanobieCoaster on the coasters! : )
One of the weirdest things I've ever seen is that Untamed first ran the full train in the morning, in the evening they somehow closed the back car, and even later in the evening they closed the second to last car... I don't know what's happening here but I can't imagine that this is what all RMC's do
It had lift motor issues my first visit in 2019. Not sure if it still has problems related to that.
@@CanobieCoaster it also had numerous technical issues leading to short but many instances of downtime. That was April/May 2022
I want RMC to start making unique elements
I've enjoyed all their rides thus far.
Better than zadra?
I prefer Untamed.
I love this thing, but the leg restraints are fucking painfull when you are tall. But i dig thatt i can go on every coaster in Walibi because i am 2,03m (6'9") which is quite rare as they have 5 coasters
I can understand how that's an issue if you're that tall.
Since when is 140' considered an inversion??
I need to get on all those rides you mentioned except Wildfire.
You were right , except for kondaa because I still slightly prefer untamed. But yeah everyone has a different opinion
@@stijnvangurp9432 you’re right. The prediction before opening was wrong 😂
@@traxxasvxl2920 tbf zadra and ride to happiness are better then untamed in my opinion, so your prediction isn’t that bad
This park has such an odd shaped Skycoaster
I think Kings Island has the same one. It doubles the capacity.
Definitely my favourite coaster but sadly I only got in 2 rides.
I'm guessing the lines were long?
@@CanobieCoaster yup, we had virtual queues and at the end of the day it was 2 hours.
No wonder that this is my favourite coaster🔥🤷🏼♂️ but mabye Zadra or Kondaa will take the spot but I think Kondaa has a better chance to get my new number one as Zadra. Kondaa's layout look as perfect as Untamed's but we will see😁
Both Zadra and Kondaa look incredible.
@@CanobieCoaster yes that's no question🔥
Robin Hood was sooo rough! I usually skipped it when i visited Walibi. Same for their SLC, so shit 😂
I rode Condor and don't plan to ride it again.
Well maybe you should give Condor a second try, they changed the restraints so thats pretty nice
But yeah I can see why its shit but at the same time it was the first SLC to be built so yea
@@GoudLoodje I recently tried it. Big improvement compared to the previous restraints, however still a one and done in my opinion
I love Untamed, but I kinda prefer Wildfire at Kolmården.
Wildfire has a better setting and drop, but I prefer the rest of Untamed.
wowww
Indeed
Love how mans said online twist when it’s a heart line roll and how mans said the “off axis hill” banked 140 degrees. it’s called a 140 degree stall🤦♂️
Whoops! Great elements whatever they are.
