    Ultralight backpackers may love their titanium ware for weight savings. A great chef will always choose a different metal. Titanium is actually a poor conductor of heat and you will have a hotspot in the bottom of your saute pan. Food will easily burn and simmering will be difficult. For water sterilization, boil-in-the-bag food products (MRE mains), coffee or tea, no problem with titanium. What you choose depends on your application and intended use.

    so, thermal conductivity
    Titanium - 21.9 W/(m⋅K)
    Iron - 80.4 W/(m⋅K)
    Aluminium - 237 W/(m⋅K)
    in your case you got close results because you had a powerful heating source and a small heating area and a small volume of water

      the aluminium conductivity is an advantage and disadvantage becouse pot / cup is a radiator. It transfers heat to the air as fast as it gets. Boiling time depends on how power has the stove, which fuel you use and how much water do you boil ( the pot should be full )

      @@charlesartificer2158 I recently ordered the xd 2F ans the well known 25g 3000t titanium stove. Both are that cheap, that you can order more when needed! 🤗

    Which one cold faster after the test ? i've heard some say that the stainless steel stay warm longer than the titanium 🤔

      Don't know as that was not part of my test. But your thoughts on the stainless steel retaining heat longer could be right.

    Hi. How does that xd-2f run? Have you ever used it on camping?

      I used it this last Saturday on a day hike to make lunch and coffee. Worked fine, ask me in a year how it works that will be the real test. Thanks for the comment.

      It still works like new. I am very pleased with it. I got a 2nd one for my other bag to replace a much heavier stove. In its class it performs well and has a good flame spread. About the only thing I don't like about it is that it is not a remote stove set up. There are options to fix this but that costs 4 times what I paid for the stove so for now I can live with that. for the money its hard to do much better.

    i wish you had taken a temperature reading of the stainless steel, just before you put it on, am curious if being so close to the stove while the titanium was heating up might have raised the temperature.

    • @charlesartificer2158
      @charlesartificer2158  Рік тому +1

      I don't think it would make that big of a difference. Most of the heat was coming up and around the pot. But you do make a good point. Thanks for the comment.

    If you close the lid, it boils even faster!
