I love how food crosses cultures…my Eastern European family makes a version of egg drop soup and it is one of the most comforting dishes. My children would always ask for it when they weren’t feeling quite right, or, when they were feeling perfectly fine!😁. Thank you for sharing your expression of this family favorite. This includes more keto-friendly choices, so it's a winner with me. Snow peas are a nice idea. I'd also substitute glucomannan or sodium alginate for corn starch, and organic tamari for soy sauce. I used to make this all the time with frozen peas and carrots before I went keto, and I forgot how much I missed it, so the challenge for me will be "ketofying" it just right.
Just a note: I like to slice shrimp in half lengthwise by pinning their bellies on a cutting board and swiping the knife toward the tale The natural tension this creates makes them easy to slice.
PS: A little baby spinach sounds cool too!

Yes, I bought your cookbook and tried the Egg Drop Soup with Chicken, wonderful. Scrumdiddlyumptious ! I will try this one. Perhaps I will combine shrimp and chicken? Sounds like the cat wants some shrimp too? I substitute Cayenne Pepper for the White Pepper. How does one get that job, Dude, stand there and film, then eat. Great Video Dude and Flo.

This is EXACTLY the soup that I needed to put in my over salted monk fish I Will omit the tofu but I will be using shrimp 🍤 along with my monk fish I hope mine comes out as delicious 😋 as hers looks!

I eat soup year-round 😅 and I was looking for a recipe that would let me use a bag of frozen seafood mix. I used half of it (no tofu) and substituted broccoli for the snap peas. I also added a little more slurry and a little MSG at the end but other than that I made it as written. This recipe is a keeper! Next time I’ll add tofu. Thanks!

This is wholesome, n flavourful, rich in ingredients n made with 💕. Usual Chinese egg soup are not so much ingredients, sometimes I would add in sea cucumber or fish maw, lots of work to clean n tenderize them prior to cooking but the results do yummy. Thank you Flo for sharing. Stay safe

My mom did the cooking but she never taught me how.
@@FloLum my mom did too. Although my mom didn’t teach me the steps either, I’m so thankful that I watched and remembered everything she did, without her even realizing as back then her focus was just survival. She has asked my how I learned to cook foods from our culture and seems utterly surprised when I tell her that I just watched her, lol.
