Flo that looked so good. I’m 70 and that is a childhood favorite of mine. I have never tried bacon it it, but it my mouth water. I always order the veggie egg foo young. This restaurant I like uses broccoli, bean sprouts, onion etc… Thanks I enjoyed your video and of course……..The Taste😉

He IS risen and I am thankful!! Egg Foo Young is a family favorite! We used to go to Ken Jo’s in Flint, Michigan every weekend while I was growing up to have ham egg foo young. Sitting in their high chair is one of my earliest memories. Their version was a patty with lots of green onion, chopped white onion and tons of bean sprouts with a little chopped ham and the gravy was thick. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is closed now and the ones in my area now just don’t taste the same. It’s amazing how food can trigger memories!
I'm a little more veg heavy in it. A handful of shredded cabbage and a handful of sprouts (which I grow because i can never find them in Indiana when I want them), a sliced mushroom and a half hand of sliced onion- only two eggs plus leftover protein if i have it on hand. I make sauce in advance- much quicker prep. It's a good multipurpose sauce

Happy Easter to you and your family. Egg Foo Young is my favorite dish. I always make shrimp egg foo young, and I make a gravy with peanut butter in the sauce, soooo good!
Thanks for another version of egg foo young my favorite always with extra scallions on top love bean sprouts, shrimp & shiitake mushrooms in my patties now I will make a large one to save time. Excited to make this soon yummy!😋. Thanks for sharing 🥳💕

Maybe I'd go for Dude's idea and try it with SPAM! As you were giving options, I had to laugh when Dude said, "I have an idea.". I knew there was going to be a plug for SPAM. We didn't have the gravy with it...restaurants put too much stuff in it, I don't care for it that way...maybe I'll get brave and attempt making some...
I love this channel. Flo has the cutest personality. Her male friend was cute also. Great combination. Very entertaining! I was in the mood for Egg Foo Young. Since moving from Chicago (ChinaTown nearby) to Houston, Texas, I cannot find a good restaurant that makes this. I found your channel and made it myself. It was amazing!!! No need to buy out! Delicious. Never thought of making one big one and cutting it the way you did Flo! "I can't be bothered either!" Love and my thanks to you! Your new subscriber
I haven't had egg foo young since before the pandemic started, as I would find it in my two favourite Chinese buffets. One ingredient that I like, which you did not use, is bean sprouts 😋 Your dish looks delicious though. I have never heard of gravy on egg foo young, so I learned something new from your video. Thanks!
Thank you so much for teaching a guy how to cook his favorite meal!!! As a side issue, photography is my hobby. Please tell me what camera was used to create your content?
Hi Flo, I'm surprised not to see bean sprouts in this recipe? Every time I have ordered it at a take out it always has sprouts? Is that not traditional?
I’ve had them with bean sprouts in restaurants but I make them at home with ham and frozen spinach (chopped, defrosted, squeezed dry). I love the gravy but never make it. I’ll try Flo’s recipe. I’ve just used a drizzle of Sriracha....can I say because I couldn’t be bothered? 😁
For me it's not egg foo young without bean sprouts and water chestnuts, garlic and green and sweet white onion. Eggs and gravy. Everything else is negotiable!
Is it me, or is it a little unappreciative to imply that Flo makes “her” free to us recipe(s) and lovely demos incorrectly?” How often does she suggest if you don’t like something leave it out and if want to try another ingredient give it a try. If you like bean sprouts, yay! Toss some in?
I loved this stuff. It was the only good dish that "Chinese" take out could make well before authentic restaurants opened nearby. Now I can use it to empty my fridge of leftovers. Thanks for reminding me.
One of my all time favorites is Egg Foo Yung. Tell Dude I love TheTaste! My mouth waters and I grab my grocery list so I am sure to have what I need for my Taste.
Hi I have never had egg foo young but have seen it on the menu many times. When you flipped The Omelette over I literally went oh my God that looks so good! The gravy is intriguing and I am going to definitely try this dish minus the shrimp because I am allergic thanks again for a great video looking forward to your next one
I like cabbage. I go for the cole slaw shreds in the bag from the produce section. I just add onion as it has carrots in with the cabbage. My gravy is a little different. I usually use oyster sauce, soy sauce and dark soy sauce. I like the idea of adding a little chicken broth. I'll try that next time.
He is risen indeed!! Hallelujia! Yumm-o. I am not a shrimp fan, but will put beef or pork, onions, spinach, celery.. Whatever.. Thank you and God bless you and stay safe. Hugs
This has been very HELPFUL to me. I'm not usually a lover of eggs, but medically now I have to eat them. I ALWAYS used to love egg foo young and now I can make it, enjoy it, and have those eggs I don't much like, but which are now medically necessary. I'm in your debt. I won't use shrimp - allergic to shellfish. But I will use left over chicken, beansprouts, onion, maybe even some shredded carrot....I will experiment, THANKS SO MUCH! There is always a solution to a problem, and my problem was/is the need to eat eggs. This will do it! So will baking cakes but that does not count according to the dietician. ONE QUESTION: The oyster sauce. Does it really have oysters in it? I guess that is self obvious. But because of the shellfish allergy, what could be substituted for the oyster sauce? Thank you. Adria, Los Angeles, California.
Loved this video. First time I've watched you and I love how easy and laid back you are. I really enjoyed you showing how simple it is to make this dish. I have made my own at home for a long time now. I'm happy you showed how to make your own gravy. I've always struggled trying to make it taste like my fav restaurant's gravy. I'm gonna have to get some oyster sauce now and see if that's the secret. The fun surprise at the end was the detailed review. Watching him makes me want to get into the kitchen and get cooking. Loved you both!

Your cast iron pan must be amazingly seasoned to cook eggs in it.

She said that you can use bean sprouts- she just had onions. She advocates using what you have on hand or what you like.--Susan
Is it me, or is it a little unappreciative to imply that Flo makes “her” free to us recipe(s) and lovely demos incorrectly?”
How often does she suggest if you don’t like something leave it out and if want to try another ingredient give it a try. If you like bean sprouts, yay! Toss some in?
I loved this stuff. It was the only good dish that "Chinese" take out could make well before authentic restaurants opened nearby. Now I can use it to empty my fridge of leftovers. Thanks for reminding me.
My mom LOVES egg foo young. I should try this recipe out on her.
One of my all time favorites is Egg Foo Yung. Tell Dude I love TheTaste! My mouth waters and I grab my grocery list so I am sure to have what I need for my Taste.
excellent recipe and more importantly technique and explanation. Props to good teaching~
I had forgotten about this dish from my childhood…
You are such an awesome cook I can actually smell everything you make.....:))))
How about some chicken instead of shrimp or pork? Love egg foo yung!! Love the gravy part!!!
First time I have seen your show! Awesome!
Your Egg Foo Yung looks amazing Flo 🤤. Greetings from Northern Ireland ☘️🙏🏻
I love Egg Foo Yung. This recipe looks awesome. Will definitely try it. Thanks!
You made Egg Foo Young seem easy to make at home. Thank you. Happy Resurrection Sunday
Adding some Chinese wine really improves the sauce tremendously.
I love the way you added the oil and corn starch to the eggs, never thought of anything like that before.
Double yoke twice never in my 72 years have I seen that. That's awesome. 💞💞💞
Shrimp! Love this comfort food dish over rice with a ton of egg foo young gravy.
He is risen indeed!! Hallelujia! Yumm-o. I am not a shrimp fan, but will put beef or pork, onions, spinach, celery.. Whatever.. Thank you and God bless you and stay safe. Hugs
This was very popular back East, when I lived in Buffalo NY. West coast never hear of it..lol. The secret is the gravy:) I will try this
This looks unbelievably good !
Omg, Flo. I've made this before, but now I can't wait too try yours💜 looks heavenly😇
I’m making this for breakfast with just veggies. I love it so much.
Learning so much about Chinese style food prep from you. When you use sesame oil is it toasted or plain?
I believe Asian sesame oil is always toasted. I don’t know any other kind. 😊
You make it look so simple! Thank you!
gonna try looks delicious which gravey did you use?
Wow that looks delicious! So glad you made it and that gravy, yummmmmm
This looks so simple! I’ll be trying this soon..
Thank you.
