My fav thing about my DCT, is that I like downshifting by kicking the throttle peddle a slight kick 😅 Don’t have to use the paddle shifters all the time
You mean the kick down feature when you floor it and it goes to the lowest available gear? Yeah say goodbye to your crank hub if you do that often haha
I'm glad you said that it's not. I'm a die hard manual guy also, and I've had a few DCT's. I don't like them at all. It's super boring and just reminds me of a fancy glorified tiptronic style transmission.
So I’m a huge manual transmission fanatic and when I went to buy my M4 there was 2 options. One was a DCT and the other was a 6-speed and I drove both and to be honest the DCT drove way better than the 6- speed so I went with the DCT and it’s a great transmission
Yep, I agree brother. Having driven both, the DCT definitely has a smoother feel. I still prefer manual but DCT is light years better than any regular auto.
@@AlwaysSummerGarage Not really. The fastest transmissions of all, are the single clutch transmissions on F1. …and there are no big differences between dual clutch and the best single clutch or torque converters. Diferences are there, but can usually be measured on the hundreds of a second. Any modern auto is light years better than any manual, that they are when we take into consideration shifting times.

Haha nice.. I gotta try that. For real though there's a lot of temptation there with that transmission 😈
I had no idea, I gotta try that.
@@djfinalmrimpossibletoignor2716 yup and depending how hard you tap the throttle will determine if you drop 1 gear or more.

@@mcintosh.motors No, the kick down feature is all the way down. I'm referring to a slight quick tap on the peddle to just downshift 1 single gear.
Cool video. I still to this day, haven’t driven a DCT. I had it in my head to purchase the 6MT.
Hopefully one day
Thanks man 🍻 much appreciated. Same here.. had to be 6MT. DCT is a blast though.

Yeah I give them credit for trying but nothing is as good as a manual 🍻
@@AlwaysSummerGarage agreed
the manual 1-2 shift is terrible in a BMW. for the life of them they could never get it right since they went turbo
Well now I don't feel so bad 🤣
If I wanted to press buttons, I’d play a video game
eh, can't say I entirely disagree

Nice video, learned a couple things
That's awesome to hear, thanks brother 🍻
It took me a while to get used to mine it would always be jerky in 2nd gear it’s like I had a third pedal but I couldn’t use it 😂
yeah I've felt that in Nardo too.. crazy how much it kind of feels like a manual at times.

Sure thing!
