Foundation 1.0 - How to Make Tools, Clothes and Mistakes [E3]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- Many mistakes were made but most of them have been figured out. However, I am tired of relying on the other towns for important items so we see how to make tools and clothes. We also explore prosperity and splendor to unlock more building and tech.
Experience the charm of Foundation, a relaxing medieval city-building game that breaks away from grids, letting your city grow organically. Build impressive monuments, manage resources, and shape a thriving community in this unique and immersive strategy experience.

Great stuff, thanks.
Loving the playthrough
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Treasury. The main room you built for the treasury can be enlarged when you first start construction and later when you decide to remodel it. As you enlarge that treasury room, the amount of extra gold coins it can hold goes up.
Awesome. Thanks.
In my game, it's taking about 3 full sized wheat farms (with 3 workers) to keep the windmill and bakery busy.
Thanks. I will see how many upgrades I need to do to have it work with 2 farms.
Great Series!!! Thanks now i am fully convinced to buy this game.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy the game!
This game is so relaxing i keep falling asleep watching it.😵💤
It is a chill one! Thanks for sort of watching.
Im looking foreward to se you solving the housing problem!!
Thanks. I think I know what the problem is.
@@surtrplays
Brilliant!
No can you come to the UK and solve our housing problem, please? lol
in inventory you can direct to stockpile an item you need to build up and it will stockpile in storage
Great, thanks.
I have experienced two housing problems. Workers too far away complain, and upgraded houses requirements fall off. The later happens with people moving out\around to other houses or your missing the right level of person in the house. Moving production sits around can help or hurt.
It has a lot to do with whether there are commoners and if the commoners have their needs met.
It seems that as you grow and acquire new resources, you need to keep in mind the supply chain (into and out of) as well as storage. It might be helpful if the game alerted you when there was a missing "link" in the chain (or lack of storage space). Also, if the placement of a building were to cause pathfinding problems it would be nice to know. I think I would have made the same mistakes (and worse) were I in your shoes.
Those would be very helpful.
How to make Mistakes .. hmm let Surtr play! :P :P Bwhahahaah.
Your IRON DEPOSIT was there, and then you 'CLEARED' the land and removed the deposit with a few of the trees.
Yep, I saw that when I was editing. 😅 I know now. Will not be doing that again.
The farmer clears land
I see someone else here in the comments is experiencing the same issue with housing not being built, despite there being vacant residential-zoned land -> Perhaps:
(a) it might work a bit like Sim City (and I think* O.G. Cities Skylines)? Perhaps the vacant residential zones are too far from where the homeless work and/or too far from service buildings?
-> So, one thought in this way of thinking: Commerce / Municipal buildings in a centre column, flanked either side with residential, with industry to one of the outsides. Probably a bit late in this playthrough to try that.
(b) There's some other arcane game mechanic at play, or maybe even a bug. Haven't played the 1.0 game yet, but in the demo, I tried to paint my residential zones with gaps where I wanted roads - perhaps that might help in future zoning?
* I criminally under-utilised Cities Skylines (1) so my memories of optimal zoning for this game are fleeting, at best!
I think it is good to have workers closer to their jobs since they walk there and distance can be a problem. This game has different mechanics though.
👍
Thanks.
I'm actually surprised that the tannery doesn't generate undesirable area - that whole process is extremely smelly lol
Its a tailors shop. No leather, just cloth.
I have an issue in multiple saves, where, despite having the space designated for new houses to be built, these will not be built at all.
Is it because the fact that I need to Beatify the ones I already have?
I buy entire areas and make the whole region designated for houses, but nothing happens. I have the resources, I have everything, new people are joining, but no new houses.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your answers!
It would be better to beautify because then you need a lot less houses and people can live close to where they want to be.
@@surtrplays i`m sorry I still don`t understand.
So they are not building new houses until I upgrade the ones I already have?
If I upgrade a house to level2, it will hold more people in than level 1?
Please help!!
@@surtrplays I`m stuck in those saves, I do not know what to do anymore.
They one build new houses if they need them and you have a place for them. If you upgrade house density they will move into the ones closest to their jobs. Houses will downgrade if they don't have the requirements met.
Berry good use of villagers! Charging poor and rich the same tax? Is your name Trump?
LOL.
They may agree about tax, but there's definitely a difference of opinion on immigration policy.
Maybe it's just me but do you need to speed the city growth? Guess what I'm asking can you just play leisurely? Does game penalize you for just taking your time?
You can take it at your own pace. No rush. I'm causing issues for myself by trying to make the videos entertaining and informative.
@surtrplays Yes I figured you might need to for videos, thanks for answering 👍
Housing shortage? Increase density.
Thanks. I'm working on it.
Maybe some future immigrants can be assigned as builders to get your projects built faster, including housing
I suppose I might want to have more builder when I start building the big stuff.
cloth you need a place in a wharehouse
Thanks. It took me a while.
