What a great video. After playing Dark and Darker and wishing it had a PvE mode, I've been eager to get back into Skyrim. But I always spend too much time installing mods and then never playing, like many of us. This video has shown me how to get my game looking exactly how I want it too, without wasting hours. I'd love for you to do a similar video for sound effects, combat mods, weapons and armour. A lot to ask, I know. But this video was really helpful.
I have to say, this is an impressive video showcasing how you don't have to go too mod-crazy to have a beautiful modded Skyrim experience. Kudos to you!
Started playing Skyrim again after finishing it multiple times in Vanilla, now I am trying modded skyrim for the first time, thanks for this guide! Simple. Onpoint. Direct. SUBBED!
This is for me. I've only about 30 odd mods activated-mostly QOL, UI, and performance/bugfixes-with no graphics mods aside from SMIM and I'm mostly happy with it. But it's very nice to get a list of recommendations like this for a quick and easy glow-up that won't take ages to set up or require another 15 requirements and a bunch of tweaking, thanks!
I love these videos which is great when you can't overcome making a new crazy modlist and really just want to play Skyrim but can't deal with Vanilla looking Skyrim.
Thank you very very much. I am beginner in modding and I have beautiful Skyrim in one evening with only a few additional GB and no visible loss of performance. Great !

I just installed Northern Roads for my soon-to-be run as I've never tried it before 😅 I was on Lux Via before. I like to spend a lot of time slow-traveling the wilds with my followers and thought it might make things more interesting (along with some new encounter mods). Lux got ditched this time though for Skyrim is Luminous.
jk's Skyrim doesn't require a lot of patching if used by itself same for northern roads and lux but when you combine them along with other mods it gets crazy. a good portion of my personal list is patches for lux, but it looks so great when done.
Dude! you just SAVED my life lol I just hit the mark I only can use esl 's so fair to say Im kinde lost in my own modlist and I didnt liked the look of my game so I was like Nooooo .. And then you poped up and saved the day I can now easy start over :D Thanks a Million!! (It looks freaking amazing)
Hey mate, thank the algorithm for making me come across this. I wanted to mod skyrim for the longest time for another playthrough, but i always felt there was this barrier of entry for properly modding the game. Im gonna give these 10 a shot and tell you how i went. Thank you very much.
I’m a SUPER NOOB at modding Skyrim and I have never played it before. I want to play it but I want my first play through to be modded. This looks so good! Can you do a tutorial on how to make this mod list?
Thank you very much. I am currently using this modlist. But I change the ENB to Cabbage and replace Skyrim is Luminous to LUX series. It's the first time I even able to run Skyrim with graphical mods. I've been playing Skyrim with potato laptop these whole years. And now since I can afford a medium-specs PC, it's the time to install these kind of mods. Thank you for your in-depth explanation!
I love Skoglendi and Fantasia Landscapes. I've just switched from Fabled Forests to a combo of Happy Little Trees and Nature of the Wild Lands so I'll see how that goes. I was using Nat III enb until a week or two ago but my PC was finding it quite taxing and I had a few CTDs (probably due to user error) but I switched to Cabbage and it's run perfectly so far. My one essential mod that I would add to this is the Arachnophobia - Spiders are Wolves one. Totally saved the game for me, that one 😅
These mod showcase videos always make the game look so good, I have spent so many hours trying to mod it but I can't get anything to work. I follow the guides, mods don't register any issues in Vortex, and no matter what it looks like I am playing a janky N64 game.
A very nice list - I'm satisfied with the visual aspects of my current game, but this will be a great reference should I rebuild. I have to admit, I haven't played Skyrim since December of last year. Modding Fallout 4 has been easier for me somehow. Example - I never figured out Bodyslide and Outfit Studio for SSE, but got it set up in minutes in FO4 and now even vanilla armors and clothing fit noticeably better.
Damn, if only I'd seen this video before starting my playthrough. I've gotten so far, I'd hate to start again, but this is simply too gorgeous to say no to.
Oh yes but that is just the beginning. There are so many awesome gameplay, immersive, dialog, npc, wildlife, combat, world extensions, weapons, armor, UI, dungeon, mount, spells, sound mods and many more categories. Once you mod, you cannot stop 😜
Nice list mate. Wouldn't you need to generate LOD's to use that tree and flora mod. An easy to use alternative is still Skyrim Flora Overhaul, no need for dyndolod, and there's always Terrain LOD redone to help a little bit. Still a big improvement over vanilla. Ruins clutter improved is just as essential as SMIM as well I reckon ;)
Nice list SG. I recently moved from NAT III, to a reshade (Silent Horizons 2) and use NAT I for the weather base. It looks so crisp I can hear the air crackle with the frost. L00ping has done a great job with the NAT series over the years. It's such a solid base and works with so many other mods.
thank you so much for your comment! I installed all the mods listed in the video but was getting horrible performance. Changed from NAT III to SH2 and installed NAT I, and it works great for gameplay while still looking awesome! May I ask if you have any more recommendations?
Thanks. I'm going to try this batch. The last batch I tried stopped my game completely and did some funky things like needing more magika than I had to use candle light. So I had to go backwards and uninstall mods as some were not compatible with my version (1.6.1170.0) I love the way your game looks and would like to have mine look the same. It's like going to school as I watch the "how to" vids. and take copious notes. Again, many thanks.
When I upgraded to an i7 6700K I tried running Skyrim SE. It was the last time I did. 32GB DDR4 3200 Cl14, GTX 1080 FE, i7 6700K @ 4.8 ghz, 256GB M.2 PCIe 3 x 4 drive. I was running it on a Samsung 2160p with HDR on. 60 Hz refresh. I had roughly 42 mods running at once and the game looked really really good. It ran well too @4k 60. I upgraded to an RTX 3070 and an i7 8700k @5Ghz. I tried to set up Skyrim and about halfway through, found issues with the mods and load order and gave up altogether. I had gotten into competitive Fortnite, and it took up 99% of my gaming time for a while. Now, I am back looking at Skyrim SE as I want to have a better experience. My battle station has an i5 12400 along with that same DDR4 3200 and RTX 3070. It also has a 1TB M.2. I use an SER7 as a daily driver to save on power, it has a R7 7840HS, 32GB DDR5 5600, 780m iGPU, 1 TB M.2. It is a nice little machine. I also have a R9 7940HX laptop with a 4060 Mobile, 16GB DDR5 5600 and a 512GB M.2. Any of the three could be used for Skyrim SE. Which one should I use for the best possible experience? And what mods would I want to choose in order to get that experience? I am asking here as I liked the video and felt that maybe someone would have an idea. I realize this type of question would be better asked on a Skyrim Discord but as I have not set Discord up on this laptop yet, I am asking here. I miss the soothing music, epic battles and general fun that I had exploring Skyrim and unlocking things as I went along. This playthrough would be more about the best immersion and the most relaxation I can pull from the game as I have beat the main questline several times and am satisfied with that aspect. I want to see what I have missed in the intervening years as far as modded content is concerned and see what it is Bethesda did last as I had heard they upgraded the game again. I play on a 4k HDR OLED. What brought me back has been watching Skyrim videos. Remembering the time I spent immersed in the Elder Scrolls between Oblivion and Skyrim. The fun times. I would get so immersed in Skyrim I would have dreams I lived in it after playing all day sometimes. When I first played it was Vanilla Skyrim on a Phenom II 965BE, 16GB DDR3 a 7200 RPM spinner and a Radeon HD 7850 2GB and I had a wonderful time on that limited hardware. All stock, no OCs at all. I played in 720p back then and it was glorious. My Oblivion setup was even weaker and older. With this new hardware, one of these machines should be able to provide me with an incredible Skyrim experience. I figure with the right mods on the right machine I should be able to have an even more incredible time than I have ever had with Skyrim. Any answers appreciated. All three machines have connections to my main display and the laptop has a 1920 x 1200 165Hz IPS panel that has great color so even that is an option but I have a feeling that the 4K OLED is where I will find the most immersion. Thank you to anyone that has any good advice.
This is a very good, small modlist that makes such a huge difference visually. I've installed modpacks with hundreds of mods that still don't look as good as this. What is the armor mod used in the video? I really like the shiny templar style armor, it looks fantastic.
If you're adding the enb to skyrim together, make sure to still manually install skse to your steam skyrim folder or it will bring up the failed banner/enb settings when you load the skyrim together launcher.
I'm definitely using all these when I next install Skyrim again! I already had a planned replay with that one mod that adds the collectibles museum that I can fill throughout the gameplay and this collection will definitely compliment that run! Do you have any mod recommendations for skies, especially nightsky and the moon?
This is what I've been looking for. I have been wanting to play this so badly, but looking into mods, lists, and requirements... All the hassle of installing and stuff maybe going wrong and having to start over... It makes me not want to bother. I wanted to see if there were a smaller list of mods that covered a lot of stuff to make the game not look so dated but not take a week to set up. Thanks, this was helpful. If I heard you correctly one of them that does the textures and stuff does all of the dungeons and other parts of the game?

A fantastic video that I was looking for =) I have been wanting to start playing Skyrim for a long time, following the main story and all its secondary ones etc., but I wanted to make it a bit more modern.. There are some nice modds packages like Nolvus- Lorerim etc. but there are more than 4000 modds and too many Gb to download, I can't fill a 1TB SSD just for a Skyrim mod pack -.-, and not being an expert in mods and how to interact with them I didn't know how to get my hands on it even watching videos it seems like a mess..! This video is fantastic it is everything or almost what I was looking for =) THANKS.!! You say in addition to these I should, could, I would like to look for some improved combat mods and maybe some new Dragon aesthetics what can you recommend me of these genres.? Is there anything else you would recommend.? Thanks again Beautiful video.

Once i did get the opportunity to use graphics mods, i focused on just using big all encompassing overhauls to cover as much of the game in as little mod count as i could.
Might end up referencing this when i next make a modlist
I'm loving the "here's a mod that doesn't depend on 23 other mods" approach!
This is an excellent video - I just got a Quest 3 / 4070ti and am setting up Skyrim VR for the first time - will be using this mod list today
How did it go?
@@MasterSkug Awesome - its a great basis to use as a starting point, and then fine tune with more mods. Completely stable, not had one crash yet. Skyrim VR (modded) is unbelievable - played nearly 30 hours since my first comment!
@@RobbieB2606 Skyrim VR modded is such an amazing experience! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
This is exactly something I was looking for. Now to just add some improved first person animations and I'm golden
Trying this right now, if this works then these are my top 10 visual mods from now on
Started playing Skyrim again after finishing it multiple times in Vanilla, now I am trying modded skyrim for the first time, thanks for this guide! Simple. Onpoint. Direct.
Great !
Nice, i really like your choice of mods. It makes me want to start modding Skyrim again.
I wont lie, I've never beat the game I've tried dozens of time's but i always end up getting burnt out. usually I don't want to get any mods without beating it at least once but my friend told me there's no point in settling for a subpar experience when u can have a better once right off the bat thank you for this video I'm excited to make the game look almost new with a nice simple list.
In my next modlist i'll definetly get rid of all the patches nightmares like Northern Roads, Lux and JK Skyrim.
I got rid of JK’s Skyrim and am going to stop with Northern Roads myself.
Seriously, it's a shame because Northern Roads really is a great mod, but I think I've ignored bugs (even after patches) for too long.
@@a1racer441 Use elfx shadows, get rid of your troubles and patches
Dude! you just SAVED my life lol I just hit the mark I only can use esl 's so fair to say Im kinde lost in my own modlist and I didnt liked the look of my game so I was like Nooooo .. And then you poped up and saved the day I can now easy start over :D Thanks a Million!! (It looks freaking amazing)
Replaced my mods with these 10 and my game has NEVER looked so beautiful! Thank you for this
how did you install them ? I used vortex for all of them and it didn't affect my games at all :(
@@SLIBARDINHO use MO2 instead, it is easy to use and even the order will be set right.
@@SLIBARDINHO use MO2 instead, it is easy to use and even the order will be set right.
Nice we need more of these simple mod lists
Thank you very much. I am currently using this modlist. But I change the ENB to Cabbage and replace Skyrim is Luminous to LUX series. It's the first time I even able to run Skyrim with graphical mods. I've been playing Skyrim with potato laptop these whole years. And now since I can afford a medium-specs PC, it's the time to install these kind of mods.
Thank you for your in-depth explanation!
I'm so glad I found your channel 😭😭
I love Skoglendi and Fantasia Landscapes. I've just switched from Fabled Forests to a combo of Happy Little Trees and Nature of the Wild Lands so I'll see how that goes. I was using Nat III enb until a week or two ago but my PC was finding it quite taxing and I had a few CTDs (probably due to user error) but I switched to Cabbage and it's run perfectly so far.
My one essential mod that I would add to this is the Arachnophobia - Spiders are Wolves one. Totally saved the game for me, that one 😅
I tried Nature of the Wild Lands but that mod caused so much lag and stuttering in the Falkreath and Morthal areas :(
These mod showcase videos always make the game look so good, I have spent so many hours trying to mod it but I can't get anything to work. I follow the guides, mods don't register any issues in Vortex, and no matter what it looks like I am playing a janky N64 game.
dont use vortex. try mod organizer 2
That’s it, I’m using this mod list for my game. Finally a texture mod similar to what I want, now to figure out character and npc + ai mod list.
what armor was your character wearing? looks beautiful
It looks like the Elite Knight set from Dark Souls.
Great video! This might be my favorite format for a mod video I've seen in ages.
Exactly what i was looking for. Thanks
this is exactly what i needed, as someone who doesn't have much storage space on their computer
Damn, if only I'd seen this video before starting my playthrough. I've gotten so far, I'd hate to start again, but this is simply too gorgeous to say no to.
That's a good, concise list. Thanks!
I'll save this list for my yearly ish playthrough, thanks
Just got back into modding and this video was super helpful. Great list thank you!
Beautifully Well put together! Your Videos are amazing! Keep it up!
bruh you have help me with these mods. I was trying to play the AE and want it to feel like new visually... Thanks so much!!!
Oh yes but that is just the beginning. There are so many awesome gameplay, immersive, dialog, npc, wildlife, combat, world extensions, weapons, armor, UI, dungeon, mount, spells, sound mods and many more categories.
Once you mod, you cannot stop 😜
this is what I've been looking for thank you hopefully it works all for me
This is amazing and I got the four legged game of thrones dragons done with no clips and it looks amazing your legend
Nice work!!! May i ask what is the armor mod in the video?
Just got a 4080 Super and built my first PC. Can’t wait to jump back into Skyrim in VR 13 years later haha
Awesome recommendations - I love simplicity
"you can make skyrim look this good with just 10 mods" meanwhile having like 300 more in the background that you KNOW are not any of the 10 XD
What a good Skyrim Modding Video! Perfect! Thx. Liked and subbed.
Jeez, i just used a shader before and thought it changed a lot, but that ENB is making quite the difference.
Great video any chance of doing this on a Xbox with 10 mods?
9/10 of these are on Xbox, only the water mod hasn’t been ported 😢
This is exactly what I need in my life. Not ESOs 800+ outdated modpack.
Damn man, just the armour from the start looks awesome!
Thanks! Was about to install a 300 GB modpack with over 1500 mods then i found this video
Same. And honestly FUCK that.
Is there a proper guide to install ENB you would recommend to watch?
Great job with these mods!
Holy shit it's been 12 years and a half and i'm still modding Skyrim
So simple, it is to be admired. Complete overhaul with ten mods! Chapeau!
Appreciate this video so much man!
Just a note on grasses: they are sparse beneath the trees, especially in forests with thick low canopies.
How about maybe a tutorial on installing these, this looks amazing
Love from a RedShift and Vaush fan!
This is a very good, small modlist that makes such a huge difference visually. I've installed modpacks with hundreds of mods that still don't look as good as this. What is the armor mod used in the video? I really like the shiny templar style armor, it looks fantastic.
This is amazing
You should make only 40 mods next
Great video. Would live to see a sort of "Stage II" where you build up from this list.
It's always the ENB that makes the biggest impact on it looking like a completely new game. It's also the thing that makes people's PCs just CHUG.
Thank you. Followed your video and the end result is very pleasing. :)
I used your mod list and its great
This is what I've been looking for.
Skyrim overall mod video without triple Z, breast sized gyal, gotta appreciate that. Really amazing what only ten mods can do, thanks a lot for sharing:]
Great video, you should make a series of this for other types of mods
Someone needs to tell the modders that you don't get grass in forests...
Everything looks immaculate! Are these for PC or console though?
Gorgeous and thank you for compiling this! Is this mod list compatible with Xbox series X?
I think about 8 or 9 of these are on Xbox :)
@@SoftGamingOfficial yay! Thank you so much 😀
A fantastic video that I was looking for =) I have been wanting to start playing Skyrim for a long time, following the main story and all its secondary ones etc., but I wanted to make it a bit more modern..
Your voice kinda sounds like the modulated voice from Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys. Dope.
