Etta-Blue has to be the most angelic, content baby I've ever seen! Having fed 3 out of 4 of mine until toddlers I know mine would've caused multiple indecent exposures! 😅
I have to say that I think she knew that her presence was important, particularly for such a deeply profound case. Her addition brought a real humanism & deeper sentiment alongside this case, & the work that you do, whilst being a commited parent.
Thank you for all you do in giving these families the voice, recognition & respect they so deserve.
I have so much admiration for you & I'm grateful to now know the full story of another angel Nikki Allen. Rest peacefully sweet baby girl. 💗

This case hit home on a personal level. My 8 yr old daughter was raped by ex boyfriend - trial starts next year but he is out on bail. He lied under oath in his statement and their defense is that i am a jealous ex who told her daughter to say these things. Our case is strong as there is so much forensic evidence . At his bail application they basically tore my childs character and my character to pieces. We were so let down by our justice system and i am petrified he ,like this monster in this case, will get away with it. But like Sharon i will fight to the ends of the earth for justice for my little Girl. Thank You Emma for channel - i am a huge fan and never miss an episode.

I feel so sorry for the innocent man who was accused by everyone and run out of town. He's had his life destroyed. DID THE MOTHER EVER FIND HIM AND APOLOGIZE?! Did anyone from the town make it right? I would sue for defamation and mental anguish if I'd been so destroyed that I had to basically be put into witness protection and became an alcoholic. Poor guy.

I think it's more the police that should have to apologise. It was them that botched the investigation and accused an innocent man and then the poor mother had to believe that her child's killer walked free. The common denominator here was the corrupt police.

I'm only 20 mins in but when you mentioned listening to what are assumed to be acceptable adults....today I was one of 3 parent helpers for my primary school aged daughter's class on a trip to the local library - 15 min walk and 30 kids so extra adults required. I know a number of my child's friends but even those I didn't know and who didn't know me still listened when I told them to get a move on or keep together with the rest of the class. I am an accepted adult in their eyes - helping the school. But I am really a stranger to them. Meet again on a different day, different location they would automatically trust me.

It's a heartbreaking case and I sometimes can even relate to cases you've done because I'm currently still an abused disabled person who still gets run over by failed systems in south Africa. Seeing her in the end really made me cry which is telling cause I'm pretty tough as an abuse survivor of my family and exs. I hope she never gets hurt again especially while resting in peace, she's a beautiful flower and never ever deserved to pass away from this monster. I hope systems can change and actually take action before another child dies in the hands of truly scary people.

I’m new to your channel Emma, I’ve watched some of the videos you’ve posted previously and the way you explain and present the cases and the psychology behind what is going on is great. There are So many aspects to this case that are awful, Nikk’s absolutely brutal murder and that murderer being on the streets free for so many years likely having caused harm to others and an innocent man who’s life was ruined, what happened to Heron reminds me of what happened to Christopher Jeffries in the Joanna Yeates case.

Hi guys I know it’s not live but thought I would say it anyway. Thank you Emma for your deep dives and the information you share.
My perspective is we haven’t got enough qualified staff to cover all the people, children who need care. The pressures that are on staff are immense and even though you are not supposed to carry cases, you do with more being added daily. Mistakes will be made as people are juggling cases trying to cover everything.
We need more financial support put into Social and Health Care. Not enough cares to deliver care to people in their own homes.
The system is no longer sinking it’s sunk the lifeboats are out. They are trying to keep survivors safe. Sorry but more will be lost, staff will breakdown and then leave.

    • @cautionTosser
      @cautionTosser Рік тому +1

You make some excellent points. My 2 cents: young people have no desire to enter social service (police, care workers, etc...). They're thankless jobs where their hands are tied to provide any real care for fear of litigation (that's especially in the US). We need to do more than throw money at it (although that's def a good start). We need to value the people that take on these jobs.
Maybe instead devoting half the year to celebrating diversity and the LGBTQ community we could have even a day for the workers? "Say thanks to your local cop" day. Something like that.

When l first started you had a hand over and debrief at the start and end of your shift or day. All gone now no time no space as everyone has to desk hop. Any meetings are virtual this will isolate people even more. Make them feel even more undervalued. The pay is bad as well you can earn more stacking shelves. I will never understand but can only surmise that some people are inherently evil. GOD BLESS all who were affected by the murder of this beautiful little Angel. Thank you Emma and again so much common sense pointed out by you. In the first place.....honestly every time I hear lessons have been learned. It's cringe worthy because time and time again predators are lurking all around us. There has to be a first offence and yet you heard it again and again that when they actually are banged to rights! the amount of previous perpetrations by these individuals is hard to fathom. Well done on another heartbreaking case once again told with empathy and carexx

Absolutely horrendous case, i actually hadnt heard of Nikki Allan! Cant imagine someone having it in them to hurt a child - the alcohol excuse is baffling, im a recovered addict/alcoholic and did a number of shameful things, but nothing predatory or violent! As you said, Boyd had to have an underlying propensity for that.
Really feel for Heron's life being torn apart! But glad.he was later exonhorated (albeit much too late)
Boyds 29 years for stealing Nikki from her loved ones was far from enough, but im glad a predator is off the streets and justice has somewhat been served.
Her mum is a warrior indeed, campaigning to keep her daughters memory in the forefront of everyones minds to ensure her killer was found.

You are appreciated, Emma! I might not always comment, but I look forward to each one of your videos. My heart breaks for Nikki's amazing family and the man who was wrongly convicted. The police and prosecutors are much too quick to convict sometimes. I understand wanting someone to blame, especially when it comes to children, but so many innocent people are still in prison for crimes they didn't commit. I was wondering if you could do the case of Cristina Pangalangan? She was a beautiful little girl with special needs who was left in a hot car to die. It's heartbreaking and infuriating, but I'd love to know your thoughts. 💜

You are so right. Children do not understand the spectrum of stranger danger! It’s a hard concept to teach children 😢

Yes Because they do not not understand adult concepts. Even teenagers and many adults are completely oblivious.
And it doesn't mean wrapping them up in cotton wool is the answer either.

I worked in the building where she was found and it used to really upset me every time i went in that area but in a way it is nice for people to remember her. Her family never let up to find out what happened to her. Its unbelievable how he has been found and brought to justice, shame it was 30 years too late.

"When you have little, the bits you do have you seem to cherish to a greater extent" - YES. Single mum. I just went to the shop and was able to buy carrots, potatoes, onions - basically enough to make a veg stew and enough fruit to make smoothies. Most of it was on offer or reduced. But I felt on top of the world bringing that home and it is appreciated and enjoyed immensely. It makes me wonder how the filthy rich can ever truly enjoy/appreciate something. It's a blessing to have that feeling. I don't even wish for more money, just to have enough so as not to starve and be cold.

Hi Emma.. Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos and how you show such compassion for the victims. I look forward to your new videos every week. Being from Queensland, Australia I would love for you to cover the case of Peter Aston. I was a little older then Peter when this happened in 1982 and I lived in the area. This horrific case has stuck with me over the years Thank you again for all your hard work. ❤

I lived in Sunderland for most of my life and now live just down in the road in Durham but my family still live in Durham. I wasnt born until 1993 but this case is still so close to my heart. EVERYONE in Sunderland and the surrounding area knows of Nikki. We all love her as our own daughter, sister, friend etc. I spent years checking on the case hoping that someone would be finally caught and was so relieved when the reports started coming out that they were onto someone. Sunderland has genuinely never recovered from losing Nikki. Her mam is an absolute hero and is an impressive example of someone who has face unbearable pain and does it with such grace and love.
I can also say that in general, Northumbria Police are an embarrassment. Obviously there are incredible people serving on that force, but the powers that be and some officers are an absolute disgrace. I can think of more times that Ive heard of cases theyve botched than cases we can be proud of. They are usually not great when it comes to sexual crimes and generally focus on speeding and minor drug offences than the things that really hurt our society. As a victim of a crime I was treated horrendously as a child by this force. It never surprised me to hear that theyd completely botched this case.
Im so pleased that Nikki has finally had justice served. I hope her mam can find some peace now.
