  • Join Emma Kenny as she explores the tragic case of Grant Amato, a tale of obsession, deceit, and family tragedy that unfolded in Chuluota, Florida. In this in-depth episode, Emma delves into the complex dynamics that led to the devastating murder of Amato’s family members, unraveling the layers of a crime influenced by a deep digital addiction and distorted reality.
    Emma examines the intricate web of Grant Amato's online life and how his obsession with a Bulgarian webcam model spiraled out of control, leading to fatal consequences. She dissects the psychological aspects of his behavior, exploring the impact of virtual relationships on real-world actions and the fine line between online fantasy and reality.
    Through her insightful analysis, Emma discusses the wider implications of the case, including the challenges of managing digital addictions and the importance of recognizing their potential dangers. This episode serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of losing oneself in an online world and the devastating impact it can have on families.

      I can relate there. I wanted to be a doctor, but I couldn’t pass the GAMSAT’s (pre-requisite exams to enter a med degree). I don’t think I could’ve handled the stress that comes with it anyway. I’m a biomedical scientist instead, samples come with much less emotional baggage than patients. I regret not being able to do it, as much as I am glad I still contribute to human health in a different way. I play a role in giving people answers to their symptoms, or I track which antibiotics work for which infections and that’s pretty satisfying. I think as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. I’m sure you’ve ended up exactly where you’re supposed to be.

    Commenting this again because it's true. You are the only true crime channel I watch anymore.
    The way you cover each topic with immense focus on and compassion to victims and family members, and how you having a well established background in psychology and health/social care really shines through. You break it all down, so we can see precisely how vile these criminals are and how they operate within society. You cover everything and always from a place of love. I am a stickler for the correct practice, I studied psych myself and won't hold back on correcting someone when they're wrong, but I never ever need to for your videos. I can always trust that you know more than me and have far more experience. It's really great to watch and learn from.

    • @momsdiva71
      @momsdiva71 6 місяців тому +6

      While I'll agree with you that this is a sad case. In my opinion, your statement is blaming the victim. Grant was and probably still is a selfish, narcissistic piece of trash. He had privilege, love and all the opportunities most people would wish for. He and he alone is responsible for these horrific slaughters. Grant isn't a child, he knew right from wrong. He is the epitome of a bad seed who used manipulation to get what he wanted. He didn't take responsibility and get another decent job or even had an ounce of remorse for his family's financial strain after his trifling actions.

    • @NickyBlue99
      @NickyBlue99 6 місяців тому +2

      @momsdiva71 Victim blaming isn't real. Obviously this is all grants fault. To think that stating anything but positive comments about the victims absolves grant of his actions is childish at best. But, if the family showed some boundaries and punished grant, instead of enabling him. They may still be alive today. But heaven forbid we victim blame!

    His level of narcissism and entitlement is on par with one of my family members. I feel especially sorrowful for Jason and Cody, and poor Cody losing his life too. Because siblings really do get pushed aside a lot when it comes to a narc like this. The family dynamics are toxic when a narc is running the show, and that happens a lot when the narc is the child of loving parents. They don’t know what to do but try to love them and protect them and do whatever they can to help. But the narc just takes and takes and takes and takes. It’s just terrible. I’m so sorry for this family, and for Jason who is the only one remaining alive, who still has to reconcile his love for his brother, with the narcissistic monster who killed his entire family. Rest in Peace Amato Family, and Jason I wish you peace in your life.

      Sorry you have a family member with that level of narcissism. This sad story also reminds me of Joel Guy Jr who killed his parents for cutting him off and having the "audacity" to want to sell the house and retire. Joel Guy may have been even worse, if that is possible. During the trial he just stared at the exhibits wearing that weird mask.(which made him look even weirder) I don't think he felt anything at all, except regret for getting caught Chilling.

      @@mxmmianaxo1160exactly what I was going to say. Being book smart doesn’t dictate how the heart and emotions feel and where they lead you. Sometimes incredibly intelligent people are hyper focused in one section of their lives an so sometimes they may falter in others. Think Uber succesful CEOs who aren’t present in their children and wives lives.

    I love your deep dives. You were the one who helped my articulate why I "enjoy" true crime. It's a bearing witness. Ive always been interested in forensics, and went to college for it. Medical problems put paid to that but I've learned over the years that I'd have burned out so quickly.
    But why I moved from TV to tablet to comment is to say "*squee*, your kitty is adorable!!" Is s/he an Abyssinian?
    Keep up the awesome work!

    I feel for Jason. He lost his whole immediate family in one moment of selfishness. 3 are dead and the 4th might as well be. I can't even imagine how traumatic that would be. Life in prison is too good for this guy. He shouldn't be allowed to continue breathing when he took that privilege away from his whole family. RIP to the Amato family.

    My first time watching this channel and Emma although I've seen her on TV crime documentary shows.
    I have to say i really liked her natural approach and delivery, i found it like sitting and talking with a friend.
    Delivery, insights and a seemingly natural way about Emma means I'll be checking in again ive no doubt.
    Also despite her disparaging herself re the Victoria secrets modeling i think shes a fine looking woman and the cat 🐈, awesome mini lioness.
    Oh and i like her sweater too, "do not comply"
    Subbed 👍

    Looking forward to hearing your take on this case, i have heard a few other people cover it but they were American content creators and i prefer the down to earth snarky UK perspective 😂
    I hope one day you'll cover a few cases I'm really interested in, Summer Wells, Harmony Montgomery and Luke Mitchell//Jodie Jones. Apologies if you've already covered them, I'm working through your eposodes.

    Another great example of your storytelling Emma ❤ even got my man listening to it whilst on fc24 😊…. Patiently waiting for you to do Libby squires, she was a hull uni student who was unfortunately taken from us a few years back 😢 it hit a chord with me as she was taken from the bus stop that I would wait for my school bus and always felt so safe with it being a catholic area belonging to the church… we all felt a responsibility for her safety being compromised when she was missing and there is still an anger in our community that it even happened in the first place x

    I had a friend who lost his job because he was in his words falsely accused of stealing. He was homeless then, so I let him move in. He kept my heat up to 90 degrees wearing shorts in winter. We fought. Then instead of job hunting, he runs up hundreds of dollars on my phone calling sex lines. I threw him out.
