I love that Emma doesn’t sensor herself like other UA-camrs do. She calls it all out!
I hate that other feel they have to because of how sensitive to the facts that ppl r now
@@etrosen1a lot of creators edit because of UA-cam rules and being able to make money from their videos
I always felt sorry for the poor landlord, who basically had his reputation ruined for the rest of his life, because he was a bit odd and displayed weird behaviour. They had no evidence against him, and the poor man was vilified by the press, even though he had done nothing.
I couldn’t remember a picture of poor Joanna Yates but could remember a picture of the landlord goes to show how powerful the press are 😞
All these years later, I would recognise her landlord walking down the street! No idea what the killer looked like 😮
Thankfully the poor guy looks very different now. I saw him interviewed not long ago. He said that time in his life was really bad and he'd put on weight, his hair had grown and he looked dreadful which is why I think he was so memorable looking as he looked weird. He now looks much better, but yes, that picture of his face at that time is ingrained in peoples memories
Same, makes me feel bad. But also, we rely on the press, who are unreliable.
Wow, you're right! So true
I so look forward to your uploads. As someone with ADHD the fact that I can just watch and watch your videos says a lot Thank You 🙏💯 ❤
As another person who has ADHD, chronic pain, etc etc, I agree 100%💯💯💯!!! ❤❤❤
I love being able to put Emma's video's on and I find I can actually focus on them, as opposed to most everything else in my life!!! 🙏🙏🙏
@@kristi_vera_parkerhi Kristi how r u feeling?
Me too! I have ADHD and ADD and after a full day at work where I’m mentally stretched but not physically, I feel overstimulated - Emma’s content is perfect and an added bonus is when darling Chase puts in an appearance! Relaxes me completely and calms my brain!
Fellow ADHDer jumping on here to agree!!! Emma’s videos are some of the only things I can really focus on which is so relaxing for my chaotic brain ❤️
@@allysonoconnell1457 hi, sweetheart!!! 🌹🌹🌹
How are you doing, hon??? 💐💐💐
Thank you so so much for asking after me 🙏🙏🙏
What a precious person you are 😇😇😇
I am doing OK, thank you so much.
I've had a good week, but the pain is debilitating today. I still feel so blessed to have had a break from it for any amount of time, however.
God Bless you, lovely, and please know how grateful and touched I am that you left this comment.
What a wonderful community there is here ✨✨✨
I hope and pray you are safe and well 🦋🦋🦋
I have never understood the judicial system of a sentence 'running concurrently' it adds insult to injury
Your background in psychology adds so much to the information you share, Emma.
This was such a sad, senseless murder. Joanna had so much to give and was loved, unlike the monster that murdered her!
I'm from Bristol and this terrified people! When he was revealed it was even worse because everyone started looking at their neighbours with a little more suspicious.
It was a horrible time, I remember it vividly. And it was such a cold winter that year and then they found Joanna on Christmas Day. And the media attention on Christopher Jeffries was appalling. All the places she went on the last walk home, we all knew so well… it felt personal.
Gosh, I remember this SO well! Just starting to watch. What was horrendous was how the eccentric neighbour was accused/harassed initially. May Joanna RIP 🙏🏼
Poor man, I felt so sorry for him! And all this was part of the Leverson inquiry into the shocking phone hacking that was going on at the time 😡💕
What happened to her landlord is an example of why we shouldn't just judge others because of their appearance.
I was guilty of believing what the media said about him. I'm ashamed
@@user-xk2ig4tc3f I fell for that too. The important thing is to learn from ones mistakes. However, I still feel like a fool for having simply fallen for what the news was saying.
I now question EVERYTHING on the news, and dismiss 99% of it as propaganda, 0.5% of it as hearsay and the other 0.5% I leave on the mental backburner.
@bobjames6622 I think this was the point also that I stopped watching the news or reading newspapers. I vowed never to be pulled into the hounding of another human again and stopped believing anything the media said.
check out what happened to Colin Stagg in 1993. Had his life ruined by the press. He was accused of murdering a young woman in London but had nothing to do with it. The press painted him guilty. His life left in ruins@@user-xk2ig4tc3f
Most people who came into contact with him in person would judge him absolutely correctly…. Polite, principled and law abiding…..
Thanks Emma. It's good that you keep putting that message across about people not doing anything when they hear something that is clearly not ok, someone crying out for help, even if people aren't sure they could phone the police and they can take it from there. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" Edmund Burke.
Thank you so much Emma for your hard work. Love watching your videos while recovering
Princess of Whales, is that you? 😂 wishing you a speedy recovery from North Dakota
No I have pneumonia
Take care bexfez from Australia xx
Get well soon. 🙏
Emma, as someone with debilitating chronic pain all over and riddling my entire body 24/7, your uploads have truly changed my life, in that I'm able to distance myself from it for a while whilst I get really involved in watching the case's you present, so I can't thank you enough!!! ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Also, I've always wanted to tell you the intro/music etc is AWESOME, and it sucks me in every time!!! 😂😂😂
Me too ....sending Hugs ❤ xxx
Here's hoping you find relief! 😍
Idk what kind of pain you have but I’m sending prayers for you. I suffered with interstitial cystitis and Spondylolisthesis for years as along with emotional coercive control abuse. I finally started a journey of healing years ago. The first thing I did was pay attention to my self talk. Then I picked one word (free), then force fed it to my brain. And I changed my inner dialogue. Eventually my pain went away. Light and love to you!!
I'm exactly the same! My MS is agony alot of the time and Emma helps me compartmentalise it. She's a wee Godsend
@@PaganPunk oh hon, I feel so much for you ❤️❤️❤️
My heart goes out to you, and I'm thinking of you and sending love and light your way 💞💞💞
Thank you so much for the reply, bless you 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Emma! I woke up an hour before my 5am alarm & am thrilled to have an upload from you before the kids & critters wake up. Happy Wednesday!❤
The moment I saw the picture of the landlord, I instantly remembered this case, that shows how much emphasis was put on him, because I couldn’t remember until I saw him and went Aaaw yeah, I remember this, poor guy, what a horrible thing to be accused of 🙄
me too! I honestly forgot that he was in fact innocent 😢
When I was a child we had a few neighbours who might have been described as loners or out of place in our lovely but rough and ready working class community. I mentioned this to my Ma like a child would and she told me that I should mind my own business that people are different or want to be left alone and that we should respect that. She and many like her would be very protective of them This stuck with me all my life. Its a good lesson.
Vincent Tabak met his girlfriend on Soulmates, the now defunct dating site run by the Guardian newspaper. I worked for the site ten years ago. It had LOADS of weirdos on it. We were always getting complaimts about stalkers and assaults.
Damn son
Guardian newspaper and weirdos. How very apt.
I’ve lived in Bristol my entire life. I was 18 when this happened and in my first job. It was so surreal and so scary. I remember my grandma being so scared for me to get the bus home late at night from that job. We were all glued to it unfolding from start to finish. A horrible outcome… with an added bitterness of her being found on Christmas Day. I think of her every December. Rest in peace, Joanna.
I remember asking for this video not too long ago in a comment on another video of yours. That’s not to say I think this video is for me especially obviously 😂 I’m just so happy to see you cover it.
I can remember all of this unfolding because of it being Christmas time I think it was more poignant and stuck in my mind as being so very very sad, any murder is tragic but when it was like this young woman was killed in such horrific circumstances and the time of year as well 😢😢 and of course Christopher Jeffries being hounded the way he was.
That poor man. Apart from the horrifying disappearance and murder of Joanna, the persecution of Christopher was ghastly.
@@traceyhall-green6191 Shows how selfishly evil Tabak is! He'll reoffend!
Thanks for the early release Em! A nice Wednesday night treat. ❤
Thanks Emma for doing all the digging and research on these cases.
Super kind, thank you my lovely xxx
I'm not living next to a serial killer. The chances of 2 serial killers living next door to each other are tiny.

I've been really wanting you to cover this case @EmmaK , this case deeply upset me - she lived not far from where I lived when she disappeared, and normally it feels like such a lovely, safe area .
The time of year - devastating 😢
The manner and cause of her death - utterly terrifying
The way that Chris Jefferies was persecuted - dreadful 😢
The loss to her family - just horrendous.
As always - beautifully & sensitively covered ,
Sending so much love to Joanna's family if they should ever see this ❤❤❤❤
I’m a court clerk, you would not believe the amount of monsters that walk our streets, and how they are treated like innocent misunderstood people in court. I’ve watched several walk out with not even a slap on the wrist , then come back a couple of months later for the same thing and still no consequences. I’m never gonna understand
This monster would more than likely be given the death penalty where I’m from in Tennessee.
Florida also
Great episode, AND...GREAT T shirt I received in the mail the other day! Loved the packaging also. That Darn Cat of yours is just too adorable! Thank you very much! x
Wow listening to you explain traumatic grief made me so sad my best friend/soulmate took her own life 18 months ago and my brain still cannot process it it was so sudden and i always feel so guilty that i didnt realise😭💔
So sorry to hear of ur situation sending u love from Australia xx
I'm so sad for your loss, Meghan. It's awful to feel guilty despite it not being your fault because many times people are able to completely throw loved ones off and make it appear they're actually feeling better. Please try not to do this to yourself. Your best friend had something that many people never get to experience - true love of a true friend. Sadly a rare occurrence in the days we live in.
I pray that you are able to find a way forward and that your friend rests peacefully. Love from England ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey this is a beautiful and heartwarming response to Meghan ❤
@@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey thank you so much for taking the time to respond with such a meaningful reply it really means so much. It know i shouldn’t feel guilty because I could never changed what happened it just hurts me a lot as I thought I knew her inside out and then to think she was struggling in silent and hurting so much internally and I never picked up on it. I really think it was a lot to do with a new medication she was on for her acne but I will never know 💔 She was and will forever be my best friend she was like my soulmate in a friend I just still can’t believe I’m never going to see her again we always said we’d be old grannies together 🤣😢 thank you so much I need to try and find a good way to move forward because the headspace I’m in atm is just not where I want to be for me or my kids ☹️ I’m also from England so I’m also sending love to wherever you are in the UK🤣🥰x
I’ve heard kids screaming and what I thought was saying help me, I ran to the front door and looked around. It turned out to be kids coming home from school and just playing around so the guy who thought he heard the words help me and did nothing, there’s no excuse. I was willing to run and help someone who I thought screamed help me. I’m incredibly weak and mostly bedridden because of CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) so I don’t think I would have been able to fight someone off but I was willing to help someone regardless. No excuses.
I love the intro music, it's so fitting for the subject. Like Terminator theme, cold and emotionless.
Excellent isn't it? I was going to mention it too but you got there before me!
The scream scares me lol
@keomiparmenter4427 it's caught me out a few times too, especially listening late at night when you're sleepy !
Thanks Emma. I love that you release on my only day off 😂❤ x
I remember reading the papers, watching the news etc, and being convinced it must of been Cristopher. I remember being ashamed of myself when it transpired it wasn’t. I learnt a big lesson that day.
As always thank you for the early upload ❤. Going to watch this with a coffee or two before I start Easter baking with the kids.
Great episode
As an autist, I see details - “EW YORK CITY” on her shirt caught my eye 😂
😂 First I, too, thought it said, “EW,” and I became a bit affronted, since I’m a native NYer who will never leave (and I love NYC but not the States). But the “N” was hidden.
For people interested in the story of the wrongly accused neighbour there's a TV drama of it called 'The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries'.
Yes I watched it. Christopher Jeffries btw.
i lived in london when this happened and i remember the daily articles about this case. i always knew it wasn't the weird neighbour who killed joanna and the british media bullied this man so bad
Poor guy
Dont know why ive only noticed it now, but its cool how you just get straight into the video and contents, rather than a long, waffling, ego - driven intro like you get on a lot of other True Crime channels !
Fair play Emma ❤
Thanks for your fantastic work, as always, Emma and Pete ❤

So incredibly sad.. poor lovely Joanna. Condolences to her family.
Remember this case so well. Watched several documentaries on it as well. Great job! I can understand why the police looked at Christopher and more blame the press for how he was treated. I remember watching the news and how they relentlessly went after him
So good at what you do Emma! So well explained
So proud of you for the work you put in to YOUR Tour!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
I absolutely love your content. Love how passionate you are about children. Love your sarcastic humor also.. when you play 2 different ppl ..I love that. Keep it up❤❤
Mixture of information and humour works really well good job Emma love your channel!!😊😂
I watch true crime all the time but if my neighbor called for help I wouldn't even jump to the thought of someone being attacked. I think my first thought would be a medical emergency. My neighbour had a heart attack years ago and probably wouldn't have survived if my dad hadn't heard something and gone downstairs to check if everything was alright.
Great work as usual
Thank you for doing this case xx
Great content as always and I’ve finally been able to preorder your book!!! ❤
I went to college to study architecture, construction etc with my cousin nadine aburas..she was murdered by Sammi almahari Dec 2014... I continued college and my maths lecturer actually worked with Joanna in landscaping architecture and was out with her the night she actually got attacked by this vile thing ! Would love you to dig into my cousins case one day! It was mindblowing how close to home Joannas career was and that my lecturer actually worked with her and worked in the same college my cousin attended after she was murdered 😢😢😢
Thanks Muchly Emma You made my morning, coffee and Your videos.... I Love Your take on these crimes ... Love From Canada...❤️💚💜🇨🇦🐈⬛

If someone was calling "Help me" I would make a lot of noise and call 911. I don't know if I would be brave enough to approach, but I would make my presence known. I am a frail, elderly senior woman.

I've just come home from seeing you live at your 'Serial killer next door' event in the coliseum theatre, it was very interesting, thankyou for a great evening!
yes, yes! I've just come to say "thank You"-thank You ever so much for covering this case. I'll come to watch later. regards.
U are beyond brilliant, your love for the victim i believe gives those left behind peace& your level of the perpetrators motive or history is incredible
Made my day beautiful... thank you ❤
I love your stories and your warm and bright insight on the cases, Emma!
I was so proud that you mentioned The Netherlands: the country I am from. Then I realized you mentioned it because the killer came from there 😔 Good pronunciation of 'Eindhoven' by the way!
😘❤Love from The Netherlands !
I think you are the most comprehensive researcher of crime with compassion of the victims. I love your presentation. Thank-you for all your hard work
I would like your take on the recent case from Cleveland Ohio, the jailyn candelario case. A case of extreme neglect resulting in death. Jailyn needs her story told with legacy
I remember this case. Keep up the good work emma 💟💟💟💟
On the subject of child abuse images I hear it all the time where the perpetrator gets a slap on the wrist and basically walks free but what I've noticed is if it's a crime involving money then the perp gets sent down. Stinks of corruption if you ask me.
You are amazing.love the channel
Super kind, thank you my lovely xxx
Pre ordered the book congratulations again Emma i knew when i first saw you years ago in the old crime documentary's there was something special about you something so frees and great you deserve everything that's happened to you a truly fascinating person.
Love u Emma u are amazing i look forward to your videos every wk. Although I'm from the UK I don't remember this case and was first time I'd heard about it. Your so down to earth as everyone is where I'm from. Your an inspiration xx. Obsessed Scouser from Liverpool xx

It's horrifying she was heard screaming for help, and no one did anything.i get it's frightening, especially if you are a woman and concerned for your own safety as I would be. Just phone the police, open your window and scream, I've called the police, do something!
Thank you Emma xx
Emma! (Also my precious daughters name). I’ve been binging your videos all day and heres a new one!
Love you so much Em! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your content Emma, appreciate your hard work. I remember this case very well, my thoughts are with Joanna, her boyfriend and family, just such a sad case. Also, for really defending the rights and dignity of Christopher Jefferey, also very sad how his life was forever affected and changed by this. It’s sad to think that people can probably recall what Christopher looked like, even to this day, and if you Google Joanna Yeates his image comes up, but probably wouldn’t remember the name and face of the real killer.. ❤❤
I have partied a lot in Bristol and it's scary to think that people like that were lurking about. That's the kind of stuff we only used to see on the tv. Shame that it's becoming more of a regular occurrence
I remember this. I said at the time that it must have been someone she knew as the crime scene as described just didn't feel like a home invasion or a stranger. It was like she met someone in the hall and offered to share her pizza. Just a nice person doing a good turn for a friend/acquaintance. Feel sorry for the landlord as his life was destroyed just because he was a little weird.
Love your in depth analysis.. Virginia from Virginia… come to the United States!
Thanx Em❤
I remember this. Even at the time, I thought it was wrong for him to be so publicly blamed with no proof other than being eccentric.
This is so sad. Found on Christmas Day, the very day she was looking so forward to. And Christmas will never be the same for her family or indeed the couple who found her. RIP Joanna
Hello! Watching from NYC. Love your shirt and channel ❤😊
A huge thank you to the person that gifted me a membership. I'm fascinated with this case and remember the media frenzy at the time and how they treated her landlord. Quick question: I've ordered the t-shirt - how long does delivery usually take? Thank you x
Between 5-7 days but a day or so in UK my lovely (we make them all ourselves ) x
Thanks Emma. I ordered on 4th March. Who should I contact to resolve?
Christopher Jeffries did a great interview later explaining all the different ways the press talked out of both sides of their mouth towards him.
😢😢 thank you for covering this. I remember this case I had my eldest son who was a very young baby at the time. I never realised Joanna was the same age as me or that she attended the same university as me 😢. It's so sad xx
