Materials to make a quick and easy vanity light mirror from the hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot:

(Look for globe light bulbs and avoid soft white light bulbs because it produces a yellow glow. Not ideal for doing make-up.)

The PERFECT diy vanity I was looking for, you're a life saver!
Just made one and it's awesome!!! I used an old mirror that had a wooden frame. I spray painted the wood silver then just used one light bar at the top. It looks great and is way cheaper than any makeup mirror. Thanks so much for the tutorial!!!

Okay first of all this is awesome and thank you! I am so happy now! Also for the below comments there is nothing confusing about this at all! The light isn't going into a wall so it is making a plug so we can use it by our mirrors, and yes the covers for the wires come with it... Also you make two plugs for each light and you can plug into the power bar or a optional remote plug but make sure to buy those extra two or three plug in things for the remote so u can plug in more than one light. .

Andrea Smith Where did you find the bulbs you used?
Lowes, they are CFL bulbs enclosed in a frosted beauty bulb. When you first turn them on you can see the CFL inside but they warm up quickly and cast a beautiful light.

You inspire so many of us and I wish I could of built this vanity lights but I'm only thirteen and my mum doesn't like the idea of me having makeup already because it's so expensive and I'm still young.
