    Jose had something special. Not my type of music, but I always enjoyed hearing him perform, and still do.

    Back in 1977 I toured the studio where the Midnight Special was taped.
    It was much smaller than it looked on TV. There were three stages and no seating for the audience. The audience sat on cushions on the floor. This video is a good example of what I saw during my visit.

      @deadringer28 10 місяців тому +3

      That is really cool and something I am sure you won't forget. Did the audience turn to face whatever stage had an artist performing or did they just use one stage per taping?

      Check out his RCA albums "Feliciano" (1968) "Fireworks" (1970) and "And The Feeling's Good"(1974 - featuring Theme From Chico & the Man) His versions of tunes by Elton John and Stevie Wonder are amazing.

    So beautiful, his version, love him. A few years ago I saw a video clip of JF in concert playing Purple Haze, iirc, on an electric guitar.
    I had no idea how well he could play smokin’ psychedelic-prog style, blues rock lead guitar, too. He’s fantastic!😎🎸

    JF’s entire 1968 album, Feliciano, which includes LmyF is a keeper. Not one clunker on the record.

    If JF had had the same background of managers and record companies behind him as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Neil Young and many others who in reality are not worth an inch and an iota of the soul of Jose, today he would be an incredible million-record superstar. Unfortunately she just had it all wrong around him..

      It's not important what you think, it's important what happened when Jose released this song and the entire "Feliciano" LP in 1968, a large group of musicians were amazed by a sound and fusion never heard before in the pop-soul world. . and everyone imitated Jose's arrangement for this song (from Stevie Wonder onwards all over the world), Robbie Krieger himself, author of the song, has always declared "I owe a big debt to Jose, when he rewrote Light My Fire everyone around the world they imitated him and we (doors) only earned thanks to him)

      @@daybrd916 Whatever...I still don't like his version, I never was a Jose Feliciano fan. But he did have a #3 hit with it and I don't doubt that Robbie Krieger liked that nice Big Fat Royality Check he got from Jose's having recorded his song. I would have liked that too had I been Robbie!
