At almost $600 Dollars with Tax for a remote Starter that works with my 06, this is just insanely overpriced and I have to do all the work. At that price, lifetime warranty should at least be included. Yet they want an additional $70 for that 🤦♂ Im better off taking in somewhere and having a professional Alarm/Car Starter Installed that comes with a usually lifetime warranty. These Modules cannot be that expensive. I am actually hoping for a Black Friday Sale not just $50 bucks off either. Throw in some extras, Times are tough, and this is just an add on, not something needed, more of a want thing. if not sale before black Friday, I will Just take it to a Local shop. Great video and Thanks for sharing. 👍
Good Video, BUT my problem with 12 Volt Solutions is they have comments turned off on all of their Video's. No way to communicate "Socially" with others. Wondering what they are hiding?
That’s a good question....I couldn’t tell you. I can say I’m not sponsored by them or anything but I’ve had no issues with my set up so far use it daily and works great every time...don’t know if that helps any but my experience has been good
@@sandrosilva2515 Not a scam. I fucked up my car, (car thought all doors were open when they weren't), doors had a hard time opening from the inside, lock unlock buttons hardly worked inside. Called them the next day, one of the garage techs walked me through everything. Now my vehicle works like normal, but with a remote start with an application to control it on my phone.
So it works from your key fob when jn range or if you add the range less module it can do both phone and fob. The phone module does require a subscription to use. Its around 75 for the year and thats not a bad deal cause pretty much all setups like this requires a subscription
Josh Sparkman it’s just a dumb safety feature incase your doors are accidentally unlocked so someone can’t just jump in and take off or if your windows were down and you could reach in and open from the inside whatever the case it’s for theft protection
SO WAIT...... you can’t get into vehicle and drive off, instead when you open door the engine stops so you have to start again which seems COMPLETELY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE!!! Isn’t that the whole point of the device, so you can start your vehicle from somewhere else walk up to it get in and go?
Doc I’m not entirely sure the reason for this but I agree it’s kinda dumb! But it’s quick so unless someone it standing there at that exact moment I don’t think you gotta worry about it!! I use it all the time and haven’t had any issues.
You do have to tap into the lock, unlock, and parking lights wires if you get the app module. I have the app module and with my 2012 Ford Fusion its a pain in the ass to get to those wires because most of the front panel is not removable.
Taco Hands that’s so dumb. They should have made it like some other oem’s are doing it. In my f-150 you can remote start but can’t get in drive away without the key in the vehicle.
Doc Haha I guess. I love it anyone can find something to hate on with anything but I feel it’s a small thing to deal with vs being able to start my truck from any distance or unlock it from states away! I travel for work and have let a buddy grab gear from my truck and I’m three states away!! Pretty damn cool.
Taco Hands I’m glad it works for you, I’m not hating. I guess I’m just used to something, that makes sense to me. I just think it should work differently especially since it’s an after market item.
Doc No for sure I agree with you it’s annoying haha I also have a tailgate lock that’s kinda loud so hearing that clunk back and fourth every time. It could use some refinement no doubt

I know right that’s why I’ve been looking at other videos to se if it’s not just a scam
That’s is odd but all is still good with my setup
Sandro Silva not a scam. I just installed one in my wife’s car. The guys there are really good. Answer questions promptly. Do it. You’ll like it

If you remote start from the app and you do not have your key fob with you, can you just drive the car with your phone basically only?
What is the time limit it can run?
This was a great video but i would add how you got to being able to use your phone for folks who aren't supper tech savvy. Nice work!
Need to purchase the app module which connects to cellular for the app on the phone. He talks about it when unboxing
Bob C yeah I don’t own that piece of shit truck anymore. The Tacoma is garbage with that slush box transmission.
How does the module work? Do you need to add a cellular line for it to work, other than your cell?

@@AshtonRegier $75 is actually cheap compared to other brands monthly/yearly subscription.
Why did the truck turn off after you opened the door? This was after you installed the first module.

Taco Hands thank you sir
Kinda wish the truck didn't do that .. or else this would be a good buy
It’s been a while are you still happy with purchase?
Ya I am it hasn’t let me down and definitely makes life easier in the heat and cold!! And I love the unlimited range of the mobile app!!
@@AshtonRegier ok, so app seems to be working, was reading reviews on smart app and people were saying that it was unreliable
It say on the app module this side down where did you mount that? right in next to the bcm and the remote start module?
Ya I just zip tied mine to its own harness and stuck it to the left of the bcm
Does the mobile app part require a subscription?
It does unfortunately. I wanna say something like 70ish a year

Haha I couldn’t agree more
Why does the doors need to unlock then relock when remote starting using the phone? Seems like a vulnerability

That must be with fords cause mine was plugged into the original harness no splicing
Ok but why does it turn off when you open the door?
Doc From my understanding it’s a safety feature so it can’t be stolen.

Any one know why 12volt's UA-cam page has comments turned off on all their videos??? Little fishy if you ask me.
