Thank you for making this. The more people who delve into the EU the better. I pretty much spend my life reading or playign some aspect of AC, always finding out new lore and looking forward to the next book or comic.

My friend steven who die in 2012 got me into Assassins Creed in 2010 I have all the games and all the books I play all the games and got all the books but i haven't finished reading Renaissance yet which is the first one if im not mistaken right ?????

Jorge Junior Reis No they just created a whole new character to be as a place holder for the modern section. To be honest its not anything special, I'm just glad it did something the game could not do.

The new books would be desert oath (prequel to ac origins) and odyssey (events of the game following kassandra) as well as the valhalla novel. As for the comics, you've got bloodstone (AC WW1) as well as the blade of shao jun and assassin's creed dynasty (both taking place in china, the first following shao juns story from embers to the end of chronicles china and the second one an original story), both of them manga, there are also two comicbooks for ac valhalla (one of them hasn't come out yet) and also a manga series. There is also an assassin's creed origins comic following amunet after the events of the game.
Unless you read the novelization of a film or the game that the original franchise is based on, not really. Novels in the EU are usually fluff, for lack of a better term. Filler that is meant to cover up some of the original plot holes or unexplored themes.
Usually, the only canon that is acceptable is what is shown on film and TV series, or in this case, the video games as the original source material. Whether anything else is considered canon, will depend on the original creator's decision on what is canon or not.
How in the world you forgot about Assassin's Creed The Hawk it is the most important comic book considering it is sit in Egypt and the next game will be also in Egypt, dude I am so mad at you right now x((

I still would have included them. Their modern day being non-canon doesn't diminish their value or enjoyment factor in any way, plus they are techncially the first AC comics.
Fuck all that, it's the game that matters. All of this would be so much more interesting if it were to be in the actual games and they would have a much better story. If only Ubisoft had the brains and time to implement it.
vermillion I'm not saying that these novels and comics aren't good, I'm saying that these amazing stories could have been put in the games and would have certainly made them better. They could publish books later with stories that don't progress the story and simply add to the lore.
I mean, games take a lot of time and money to create, market and publish and not so much with books, or even film series. If every single one of these stories were made into games, then we'd be franchise fatigued to the max and the series would have gotten very stale. Books and comics allow them to focus solely on the story aspect, without worrying about things like gameplay design, or graphics to hinder the writing. This is why in the games you'll often end up missing out on stories, that have to be explained outside of them. This isn't about brains or time or lack thereof, it's simply a limitation.
Must say I just don't like the timeline, main characters or the story itself.. I just don't get the same "Assassin's creed feeling" (If you know what I mean?) - I am not saying that you or other is wrong by likeing it but for me that game kill Assassin's Creed for me.. will definitely not play Syndicate to the end. :/

The Hawk is the fourth volume of the French AC comic series.
