I'm a native Spanish speaker and we also have different names for "blue"
Celeste = Light blue
Azul = Dark blue
:)
Curiously in Italian celeste is a synonymous of light blue, that, in its turn, we call "azzurro". 😄
I should check why we say that.
For dark blue color, we can say "blu cobalto", cobalt blue.
The beauty of Romance languages, so close to each other. :)

I love it when different languages seem to express different conceptions of reality. Initially, I was thinking, it's hard to sympthise with Italians finding the English 'blue' difficult. If you add white paint to green, you get light green. If you add it to blue, you get light blue, right? So what's the problem? Then I remembered that if you add it to red you get...pink. OK.
well , when i was watching easy french, i hope one day someone could make a channel called Easy italian. I am just a beginner in Italian but i think personally this language is beautiful, rich and poetic. I once walked in Florence hearing a couple .They talk about going to university but it sounds like they are singing a romantic song !!!

Attorno a me vedo un cane grigio, un tavolo di legno di rosa e di vetro trasparente. Il cielo oggi da noi non è ne azzurro ne blu. Non è vero che in inglese c'è solo un colore "blue". Abbiamo anche il colore "azure" = "azzurro" ma di solito diciamo "blue". Blu è il colore più sicuro. Quando si deve scegliere un colore, per esempre quando si compra dei vestiti, blu è sempre il colore più semplice, Non sbagli mai scegliendo il blu.
Il mio colore preferito è il rosso. Infatti, oggi indosso pantaloncini rossi. E mutande rosso.

It depends from the noun you're referring to. 'Crossing' is singular, but 'strisce' is feminine plural. That's it.

By the way, we don't always just say "blue" for all shades in English. Sometimes there is a word - like azure for the color of the sky. But, usually we say a shade followed by the word blue. The darkest are probably midnight blue, Prussian blue and Navy blue (I'm not sure of the differences). The lightest is probably sky blue or maybe eggshell. Pero, qualunque cosa dico, la mia ragazza dira que sono sbagliato. (Must I always say mia?)

Hi, I have 4 corrections. "Nego" is not a color: it means "I deny" (io nego). 2. Yes, you always have to say "la mia" ragazza for a fiancé-girlfriend. 3. "Pero" must be written "Però", otherwise the pronunciation changes and points to a pear tree 🍐🌳 (il pero=tree, la pera=the fruit). 4. "Que" is a Spanish word, while "Che" is the Italian word (yet the pronunciation is identical to the Spanish one). Hope it helped! 👋😃
