In racing, I personally believe that you make your own luck by working diligently and precisely while following a finely honed/time-tested structure. All mechanical items can/will fail over time, but due diligence can prevent accelerated failure due to human error. Of course, the enemy of this philosophy is always time. Frankly, we ran out of time and tried to force things to happen prematurely towards the end of this project, and the results were almost catastrophic.

Thankfully it happen at the start of the run, cant imagine doing 150 and have the coolant leak.
I was doing about 100 on the highway when my oil filter came loose. Oil spilled all out got on my rear tire. It was like i was doing a rolling burnout and there was smoke everywhere behind me. So its not necessarily the end
PROPS!! I think most people just wouldn’t have made a video with a mistake like that. My parents had a small business. I found when you do make a mistake and make it right for the customer instead of losing that customer, you have that customer for life. You humbled yourself, admitted a mistake and made it right. You probably gained a lot of customers by admitting instead of hiding. BYW the only people that don’t make mistakes are people that don’t do anything. Good job. Can’t say it enough. Keep it up.

Man im telling you a gen 5 zx10r especially the 2019 models are sick yall ! I ride with a large group of people and i have a 2017 zx10r with just a 3/4 austin racing exhaust, ECU tune, race filter, evil 0-4 arm and a nice chain. I let my boy race it every Saturday night, he is roughly 140lbs and we do a half mile roll racing and him on my bike has yet to be beat! We have put him up against every bike out there and its killin them!

I'm with you... I'm in NE. Pretty much the same weather you get. I run antifreeze too. My space is limited. Not unusual for at least one bike to spend the winter in the trailer. I won't risk something freezing up.
Most cases of freeze up are noticed due to a little drummer boy in the bottom end, followed by a glowing oil pressure light. The milkshake looking substance that took the place of the oil is a sure sign also.

Hey Brock, loving the amazing videos you've been making and the wealth of information you provide us! This may be a dumb question but after you do dyno runs is there a reason that you don't rev match the bike to the speed of the dyno when you let off the clutch? such as at 12:30 Is it because the slipper clutch eliminates the need for it?
Glad you like. We don't like engine braking the dyno drum. It's 900 lbs. and places more strain on the engine than is needed. Instead, we pull in on the clutch and slow the drum with the dyno eddy current brake.

@Brock - beautiful video once again, I really enjoyed it. Here I am with a new and hopefully final question I'd like you to enlighten me... Are you willing to make a video explaining and showing the differences between a long exhaust can and a shorty can as I'm really trying to know what would suit me best. A short can definetly makes more noise but I want to see what runs best and perhaps with dyno results? Sorry for trying to give you more work but I'm really curious haha
YCmanager, that's a very easy question. The part that makes the horsepower is located under the fairing. Remove everything behind the front section and minimal power differences are noticed. The part you can see primarily controls sound and aesthetics. Power can be MOVED in this area (a larger volume elbow pipe can net a bit more mid-range, etc.) But it comes at the expense of peak power. We use the shorter for slippery aeros and higher top speed...with the added bonus of an aggressive sound. Hope this helps.

One item of note: 1 tooth sprocket change on the rear can offset any 'loses' more than altering the pipe can change...if that makes sense.

Hi Brock did you install the clutch cushion aswell.
Not on this bike as we have noticed no chatter issues. Chatter usually occurs when parts start getting worn, or when static spring pressure requirements are extremely high (Big power/nitrous etc.)

It’s funny two of my Kawasaki both of them did that to me blow up coolant hoses to close to the exhaust.
Interesting he was using antifreeze while at the track.
We use MoCool in the race bikes. Anything that might see freezing temps gets antifreeze.

Brock Davidson sorry that was a dumb question. Which is faster for roll on races say 1st or 2nd gear between 50 or 60 mph all the way to all out top speed
Wasn't that also the fix for clutch rattle in the early Hayabusa?
Yes. Our Busa clutch mod not only took out the rattle/bark - it also made the bike much quicker and faster at the drag strip.
With Suzuki clutches you will gain 25hp ! LOL The bike has a great rider, Brock we all make mistakes and I'm glad you were up front about it ! Now to the most important question, is that a GS1150 in the background? I'm almost as crazy about them as I am for a air and oil cool gsxr 1127 !
lol, yes that is my personal GS1150. I built a street riden, normally aspirated, stock wheelbase GS that ran 9.0's at 157 MPH back in 1994.

@Ninjaz10r - the Penta Carbon will be available in show polished stainless (it will turn colors under extreme use) as well as ceramic black stainless. If you are looking for rainbow colors, our CT series full Ti would be your best choice.

I was wondering what the solution was on the hose repair to keep it from happening again?
We had the wrong bracket connecting the sidewinder megaphone to the chassis. The correct bracket pushes the entire system forward to keep the headpipes away from the engine/hoses.

This bike makes the Suzuki look like crap. Please don't waist to much more time on that old 2017 Suzuki. Its 2020 and Kawasaki is kicking but. Glad you didn't wait 2 years to get this bike to the track. Kawasaki just sold a boat load of bikes after seeing this. They should thank you.

well since your not that intelligent I'll make it clear.2 Years work and everything you can do to the Suzuki and the owner only ran a 9.2 with about 20 passes. VS two days worth of work to install a pipe and tune it and the owner runs a 9.2 in two yes two passes. Don't be so butt hurt. I'm a Suzuki guy myself but I saw a 131 mph back half damn on his only real pass. You should be quiet now cause you'll look bad trying to make a come back.

Before I ride I always have a warm up and inspection. That’s why ☝️. I’m not perfect or better than these skilled men and women but as a reminder to all of you , do a good inspection of your ride before you twist on down the road. Look for water trails on your hose connections ,small puddles of any fluid underneath the bike. Keep some white cardboard underneath it. Strong odors of gas. Just a reminder. I’m relieved that you or the rider didn’t get hurt or it happened at a greater speed than off the line. He’s a Good rider with quick thinking that saved himself and the bike. Not that I care more of the bike but ya. He showed to be ready for anything to happen and it did. I’m glad he’s ok and the zx10r gets to live another day. Be safe bike racers

Man that thing is fast. I have a 14 I've been racing 3 years and still haven't been in the 9's. Heavier bike, less power. I'm about 280 suited so you get the idea. Lol
Great work for a big man! Your center of gravity is naturally higher and further back than a smaller rider. If you make the correct changes to your 14, you can get well into the 9's. Suzuki used to own Kawasaki. I’m sure that they still have parts that are very similar.
Suzuki did not ever own Kawasaki. For a brief time in the early 2000's they created an alliance in an attempt to combat the full lines (mostly dirtbikes) offered by Honda and Yamaha.
