    Brock, I'm new here but not to your tunes and knowledge. You hooked me up in 2012 with a great canned tuned for my 2012 ZX-14R. That bike had scary acceleration for a big bike and your tune and the bolt-on exhaust I put on it set it over the top really set it apart from the crowd--bike was insanely fast. The review/overview of the ZX-10R and Suzuki's finest was extremely well executed and very well put together. It was by far THE best and most thorough review of your products and services and Japanese products to date. Damn good job brother!

      @@tktk-om8cg it would depend on how you are riding and racing, and exactly what year you are looking at. The 2021 zx-10r is highly restricted with no cure at the moment. And, of course, the new Busa is coming...but it will be highly restricted also for a while...sometimes it takes a year+ to figure them out. Hope this helps.

    GSXR motors engineers have done incredible job on low and midrange rpm power with their VVT system. As you said, it’s not usefull on max speed, but on street or track, you can exit curve very quick without downshifting. Great explanations.
    ps : have you ever thought installing HAVC system to get consistent T°C and Humidity conditions inside your room ? A 1000cc bike sucks 1L/tr/min. So, at 14000tr/mn, it sucks 14m³/min or 840m³/h. That is the air you need to extract from the exhaust. So you need the same to compensate pressure from outside. So, with 38°C and 80%humidity (high enthalpy), you would need a 19kW cooling system to get that air down to 25°C/50%Humidity. Plus, some extra (i think quite a lot, maybe the equivalent of the bike power * 2) kW to cool bike down… It’s just an idea. I very expansive idea, but as you said, Devil is hiding in details!

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  2 роки тому +1

      The last thing we want to do is alter our dyno numbers even more than an average dyno. We pay attention to details that others do not, so our readings are already a bit higher than most in normal atmospheric conditions and considerably higher if the dyno owner does not maintain the dyno well. We completely evacuate our room 8-10 times per minute and draw from a 10K square ft heated warehouse, so normally aspirated bikes are no problem. Supercharged bikes are the biggest issue as a glowing red exhaust will raise ambient room temperature 30 degrees in just seconds - trying to keep room temp under control for those conditions would be exceptionally cost-prohibitive.

    @Brock - Awesome content as always. ZX-10R is a beast up top, but the GSX-R1000 beats it on torque most of the way. My guess, in road racing the Suzuki will be stronger around the track. For drag racing, I believe it'll come down to whether or not the Kawi's top end can come around the Suzuki's grunt early on.

    For the ZX10R Brock, for an even better comparison. I highly suggest removing the oem damper and using a gen 4 damper. While your products for lowering the front end are great, there is still another inch to go before the showa fork tapers. That could be the difference between an 8.8 or a 9.0. Just an idea.

  • @redactedrider7606
    @redactedrider7606 4 роки тому

    I think for a normal everyday rider that's not pushing the bike constantly, and only goes to the track or the twisties every so often, but the bike is more of a daily; a full system isn't worth it. The stock headers are fantastic. If you have the money go for it. If you don't it's not too big of a deal. But for someone who is gonna be pushing that bike. The bike gets to come out to go lay some smack downs on some people, then yeah, that's a massive difference.

    If I understand correctly, that ZX-10 made 209HP at the wheel with MR12. So, what are the full modifications on the bike besides the full exhaust system and the tune? It can't jump from 160something to 209 with just an exhaust and a tune, 49HP is a huge leap.

    • @BrockDavidson

    Hi Brock, I’m Bob one of your new subscribers and somewhat new to the muscle bike world. I think your channel is great! Thanks for sharing your informational videos.
    I’m investigating in my bike and trying to get the most out of it without spending a small fortune.
    I will be having the ecu flashed, installing a Sprint air filter and changing the sprockets to 15/44. Most important to me is the sound profile of the bike. Currently the bike has a Two Brothers slip on and it sounds ok but not the tone that I’m looking for.
    I have a question regarding tone that I hope you can help with. My question is, is there an exhaust for a 2008 GSXR 600 that will produce a deep tone?
    I realize that I might be asking for the impossible but can that bike sound deep like an R1 without having a cross plane crank? If I were equating the tone to a muscle car exhaust, it would sound like something with a Flow Master Muffler on it. Again a deep but somewhat hollow / tinty while at idle sound.
    I appreciate any input that you might share! I suppose the worst case scenario is that I need to purchase an R1 for that deep rumble sound that’s most important to me.
    Below is a link to a video that has an example of the sound profile that I’m looking for. This example is of a Honda CBX 1050. Thanks again!

Unfortunately we no longer offer a system for your bike as we focus primarily on new models. I think your best bet would be to check out Hindle Exhausts. They make a very good system, at a reasonable price and they understand to importance of a good tone. I will warn you that 600's are naturally "peaky" but a robust tone with out the "tininess" found in lower quality or worn out mufflers. Hope this helps

      Yes, the problem is wrapping your mind around what "corrected" means. It's just math, and math is never wrong...but the corrected results are just numbers. In the real world, actual performance is king. ET/MPH/Top Speed/ Lap Time etc... This might help/ ua-cam.com/video/NkNfmW44zuA/v-deo.html

    Another Question: My 2017 ZX-10RR has stock headers, cat delete with an intermediate pipe, and the stock exhaust muffler. If I was to invest into the new Penta-carbon Full Exhaust System, what are my realistic gains to be seen? (No "promises") but, realistic gains? Less weight by X pounds, increase in HP by X HP, etc? Be realistic. I am seriously considering putting in an order for the Penta-carbon. I'd just like to know "realistic" gains over my current set-up. Thanks Brock!!

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  3 роки тому +1

      I can't answer the power question other than replacing the muffler is typically not where power is gained. That said, we notice a sizable gain over stock in most sli=on applications, especially combined with a derestriction flash and sprint filter. +5-7 RWHP are typical. I can say your bike will look and sound MUCH better :)

      From a top speed,roll on perspective, the zx-10r is tough to beat. The new BMW s1000rr would be my choice for fastest normally aspirated 1000. No on the gsxt1k making 200 on pump. It's more suited for road racing, partial throttle operation. Hope this helps.

  • @GR8WHITEC5
    @GR8WHITEC5 3 роки тому

    Looking at the Dyno comparisons, what is an ideal AFR to achieve, 12.8 or 13.2? Or does it all depend across the spectrum? And, for most ZX10Rs (RRs), is there an average cut-off in power, such as power begins to drop at 13,200 RPMs?

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  3 роки тому +1

      That's a loaded question as the best AFR for the dyno (static application) is typically not the best for the track(dynamic application). While the power drops off on the dyno (static), it doesn't when the ram air is functioning (dynamic). This goes into more detail: bit.ly/2EJ1zAV

      Please read this: brocksperformance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061989231-What-is-the-best-octane-for-fuel-mileage-and-performance-
      The only time an "octane booster' is needed is if the fuel being used does not meet the engine's minimum octane requirements - poor quality fuel combined with high compression/turbo/nitrous etc... On a stock/normally aspirated engine, Octane boost is not only not needed...but it actually slows the bike down, as explained in the link above.
