    Of all the FJR 1300 Throttle Body Synch videos I’ve watched, yours shows clearly the white paint on the adjustment screw, and where it is located. Well done. Many thanks for that. One comment I would add for your viewers is in the Yamaha Tech manual for the 2013, it reads “after each step, rev the engine two or three times, each for less than a second, and check synch again”. Thank you again sir. Well done.

    I couldn't afford the tool so I changed the plugs, disconnected the four vacuum lines that attach to the top of the throttle bodies going to the fuel pressure regulator and all and used a small tip cleaner to poke around the tiny holes on the things the hoses were connected to, one was clogged up,then I took a small piece of chainsaw fuel line and plugged on each of the things I just cleaned out and sprayed b12 chemtool down each one and reconnected the hoses.took the rubber caps off where you would hook up the sync tool and sprayed b 12 in those, put the caps back on sprayed all the springs and linkages including the warm up valve thing while working the throttle, removed the fuel line from the fuel rail, and the other end of the pressure regulator, used compressed air to blow fuel out of rail, filled the rail up with b12, put the lines back on, turned the motor over a few times to click the injectors,ate dinner,came back out and have it half throttle and it turned over for about ten seconds and ran rough for a few more seconds and smoothed out and been smooth since.tach doesnt float around and it doesn't puff through the exhaust anymore and it stopped the clank Sound in the motor it would do while idling.tach sets at 1100 and stays there.I also checked the TPS adjustment on the diag screen and it was good 12.22 or something dont remember

    2023-07. I know its a few years since you did this video but I was doing the 16,000 mile service on my 2019 FJR today and I have the Carbtune tool but one issue I ran into while doing this. The setting on the throttle body with the white paint on the screw - #2 in my case - is set such that the adjustment screws on the other throttle bodies hit their limit stops before they are able to match the vacuum being pulled by #2. They are not a million miles off but you got yours are all almost identical. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this problem and what they did about it? Advice would be welcome,

      Hello there sir, good to hear from you. I would have to say in your case the only thing that you can do it to back out the screw on the #2 TB just enough to allow you to match the vacuum on the other 3 TB's. Or you could just leave it as is... I do not believe it is going to make much of a difference in either case. If it were me I would back out #2 and match them all up but I am pretty OCD.... Good luck with all your projects and thanks for watching... :)

      @@ozarksbackroads5484 Just out of the blue, I am trying to understand the basic services someone has to do to maintain their bike without seeing a shop (been duped more than once), and avoid the costly affair without sacrificing the life of the bike, you seem to be pretty good at it.
      Would deliberate practice and caution allow me to do that?

    I'm trying to do a throttle body tune right now. It would be very helpful if you showed how you removed all those little black plastic caps that the carbtune pro hoses connect to. Even better, show us how you got them installed back into place. I'm finding the work space under the over hanging gas tank to be too cramped to get at the #2 and #3 throttle body black caps, and the adjustment screws. Any information would be very helpful.
    Thanks

      @ozarksbackroads5484  4 роки тому

      Hello there sir, yes it is a big tight working under a gas tank. I think I probably used a long screw driver and lifted the caps off with that. Unfortunately I cant show every detail when doing a long service procedure, I have to keep the videos at a reasonable length so I mostly cover the key points along the way. Good luck with your service.... Thanks... :)

    Just put an K&N filter on the Versys 1000 a short time back the plugs were still good. So plan on changing the plugs and doing a throttle body synch in about 6000 more miles..

      well you have some fun left before you have to do that...I will have to check the valve lash and lube the rear swingarm on the FJR in about 6000 miles or so...looking forward to that..... :)

      yes sir, good to hear from you. There are four identical throttle bodies one for each cylinder. I show the adjustment screw for the right most cylinder #4 at 6:14 in the video. The screws for #1,2, and 3 are in the identical location on the other 3 throttle body assemblies. They are very difficult to get a view of with the camera here but I did the best I could... good luck and thanks for watching... :)
