    This is something I need to share with my kids. At 11 and 14 they are already under so much pressure and negative influence, but are still the awesome beings that came into the world. We need to make sure we tip the balance away from brules to awesomeness. They're the generation we're relying on to solve a lot of problems!

    He is describing what we would call in our field self-hypnosis. Hypnosis takes the trance state and uses it proactively by asking questions, guiding a visualization, and/or doing some sort of action in the state. He is also using some serious influence tools and skills. What a great sales pitch for his company.

    my mind went blank when he said think of something you love about yourself

    • @janglestick
      @janglestick 9 років тому +8

      +TheMasterpieceArtist I'm sure you will think of some things, or do something nice today, buy a burrito or coffee for someone who looks unhappy or help at a soup kitchen. Eventually things will just come to mind if you can relax and let things arise. With patience and determined observation, eventually something will change, and you will notice the change. Be aware that the reptile within might jump up and interfere with it's fears and angers. Just breath, exert subtle control and relax your body, perhaps speak to it's concern and it's eventual solution, give it it's "chemical opposite", the key to the lock of it's concern. and it will calm back down and you;ll be able to resume. I just mention this because it's something that can happen while you are patiently waiting for the blank stage to change.

      +TheMasterpieceArtist Hey, i had troubles with that point too. Mainly because i don´t really like myself. This sure as hell IS a meditation. Mindfulness meditation may be about observing one's thoughts and breath and such, but I think the core of meditation lies in FOCUS. So it doesn't matter whether you focus on some visualizations or your breath - the effect is still the same. I like this type of guided meditation it helps me to focus much more than mindfulness meditation. I tend to wander off into random thoughts much less often, if ever. Mindfulness meditation has its benefits too though I think it can drive you deeper when you get good at it.

    • @SurfingSerpent
      @SurfingSerpent 9 років тому +4

      Yea there is this chasm between an absolute beginning and normal mediation techniques. That chasm is being filled by people like this man. This way of meditating is much more effective for beginner level meditators, because it's much easier to bring your focus to something ELSE than it is to focus on NOTHING. Mindfulness meditation isn't actually focusing on nothing, but "nothing" is all a beginner can conceive of. It takes some time to learn what it means to experience non-response, because non-response often gets confused with focusing on resistance or nothingness. Until someone can learn what non-response is, this kind of meditation is most effective.

    • @dvl973
      @dvl973 9 років тому +7

      Hunter Baker mindfulness is actually not about thinking of "nothing" at all. In my deepest meditation sessions, I was able to go so deep that I actually wasn't even trying not to think. I was thinking about stuff I wanted to. I never ever lost control over my thoughts basically because I was so aware of what is going on with my body with my mind. It felt like I was looking at my skull from inside the center of my head completely detached from my identity. It was fucking weird but awesome and what was most incredible about the experience later on, was that if I had some kind of pain emotional or physical, I could literally just ALLOW it to be there and in that moment it just didn't exist. Or if it did, it didn't bother me at all it was a part of the whole experience and there was nothing I would want to change about it. Awesome experience

    • @SurfingSerpent
      @SurfingSerpent 9 років тому +4

      +dligac Yea it isn't nothing, it's actually a razor sharp focus. But beginners will think it's nothing, because a mind that hasn't been developed has nothing else to conceive of, because most people haven't focused like meditation allows you to.

    • @dvl973
      @dvl973 9 років тому +4

      Hunter Baker it's great to do when you have some kind of pain because if you learn how to allow it, and detach from it basically, you can do that with every other aspect of your experience in that moment and then you start literally feeling like rising up. I've got to the point where I felt like a strong sun was shining on my head and the joy I felt was orgasmic literally, that was fucking profound. It was a long time ago tho.

The 2 girls said yes and it was like I was in a dream state . But what was amazing is I had a smile on my face and I feel this was braking the barrier to having connection. Thank you amazing !! i'm grateful for people like you-pioneers in self-enhancement-here's to hoping a spiritual curmudgeon like me can access such deep, 'un-mined' places in my mind, body and spirit. in doing the mediation-waterworks-nothing THAT new...i've had some upheavals in my life recently, so i'm not surprised. i'll take a leap in the hopes there's a ledge waiting and it's just me-being there for ME. and all the dreams i thought i'd share with someone i loved more than me-will become the dreams i share freely with ME and whatever or whoever the universe grants me the privilege of sharing such wild and implausible visions with...so thanks, vishen lakhiani...for a force i can take with me.

    *When the mind is out of the way and you can receive all of life, it manifests as the ultimate joy*. It is divine joy, and it is beyond any mortal pleasure possible. When you know the truth, you see the light as the Bible says; you see true life. It is much more than joy; the best word to describe it is bliss. Google *TruthContest read the Present*, it explains for the 1st time in history the ultimate *Truth of Life*, it explains how life works in every facet, including the *truth* about the mind ( the mind is the true cause of all the suffering, if you believe it or not) Just learn the big picture of life, it will set you free.

    At first while listening to him talk about the process I was thinking, "Ya right. More useless nonsense that doesn't do anything." Well, after going through his meditation at the end, I can say that I actually feel happier and more optimistic. This is really great since I was depressed for the first half of the day. Even thinking upon issues that were stressing and depressing me just 30 minutes earlier, are no longer having the same affect. I know that they're problems, but for some reason, they no longer seem that urgent and large. I have a feeling that this feeling won't last more than a few hours, but I am hopeful that it is a cumulative effect, which will benefit me more permanently once I begin doing it every morning like he says. Thanks, man.

    Last night before a went to bed, I wrote down in my dream diarry: find 7 spiritual laws. I have no idea why I wrote it. I did not have a conscious intension for something, I just did it.
    Next Morning you where on top of my "Recommended for you" youtube list.
    Now that is what I call a nice reality shift.
    Just have to find the seventh law:) now.
    Thanx.

      @Dean W. Buddy, take a chill pill. It was a joke.
      You took so much time out of your life to craft that lengthy reply for a random comment on the internet. I suggest you look deep down into yourself and question if you really are on the path to enlightenment. Empty vessels make a lot of noise, you know.

    Enhancing sales and sex life : exactly the reason why some monk invented meditation.

      this is for the advanced meditators ... its a 6 step meditation not some monk monostep :))) u gotta know what u are doing at least when meditating and heavily involve imagination or you might get no sex and no sales

    A fine salesperson selling its services. 10:20 the fact that he had to read all 6 of the steps shows how often he's practicing what he's preaching.

    The guided meditation is at 22:20.
    Are there statistics about how well this works? Jeffrey Martin's Finder's Course claims that different things work for different people, so the plan has to include trial and error. But his goal (enlightenment) is different from Vishen's (having a good life). Maybe one-size-fits-all works better for Vishen's goal. It seems worth a try in any case.

    Thank you so much for posting! Of all the six, I find Gratitude to be the most powerful. Even (or especially) if things don't go the way you plan, gratitude is the secret weapon that allows you to re-frame your circumstances.

    anybody else here because they're procrastinating from studying?

    • @munic7846
      @munic7846 8 років тому +16

      If you procrastinate for what you study. Than it might be a good idea to rethink what you really want in life instead of 'study' something because society wants you to. If you ask me there's a big diffrence between studying(learning about things that make you pass, but aren't really important to you) and learning(Learning about things you love and inspire you).

      +M Unic So if you're in school studying engineering (which you love) and your school requires you to take a class on the history of the American Civil War (which bores you to death) in order to get your degree, should you just quit? Seriously, that's ridiculous. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do on the path to doing what you love. That's life.
