    It's always more expensive to buy cheap first.
    Great review.

    Great review …. I recently subscribed to your channel viewing a leatherman free T4 review. I was considering buying a fenix ld15r light, and after viewing your review I’m going to pick one up. I’m glad I found your channel as I think your reviews are honest and real. Keep up the great work !

      Awesome thanks for the support man. The ld15r is a great light. Still use mine often. I'll keep on keeping it real 😎👍

    Mixed feelings....
    Have (2) Fenix MC11 adjustable right angle light using AA battery, and the RC05 with better stepping of 5, 50, 150, 300 instead of 3, 30.
    LD15
    Pros: USB recharge, mag tail cap, red light modes.
    Cons, non adjustable beam (see MC11), lower lumens steps, not standard battery replacement such as 14500 able to use AA

    Nice review. Thanks and one question if you still use it: Once it is in red mode, and you turn it off and on again. Does it start again directly on red mode? or does it turn on in white and you have to "navigate" all the way to red again? I am asking because i am planning to use it mainly in red for keeping the night vision. Thanks in advanced :)

      Unfortunately there is no way to go directly into red. You would have to hold down the button and it will cycle through white mode first and then it would cycle quickly to the red mode right after. So white to red. No direct to red ability. 😢

    Hmmm...Olight Perun Mini 2 has a nice red light setting as well...

      I bought one. I like it. I just haven't had a chance to review it yet because of the holidays. It's pretty well covered from other reviewers so I might skip it but I do think it's about time. I asked olight to make the PERUN mini 2 about 5 years ago 🤣 they finally caught up with the requests.

      @@PreparedGuy So which you prefer bet Mini 2 and LD15R? I gotta pick one but tough call..the mount for Mini 2 w/angle adjustment is a big + for me..

    Thanks for the review. Will the light turn on if you have it hooked up to a charger?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  5 років тому +2

      That's actually a very good question and the answer is YES "BUT". When plugged in and charging if you turn it own it stays in the lowest setting. It cannot be changed, which kind of sucks. You'll have a nightlight at best when using it plugged in. Hope that helps answer your question.

      @@PreparedGuy that answers my question, thanks! I may get this anyway, it's such a cool piece of gear!

      I mainly use olight flashlights and I wasn't sure about this light at first so I was hesitant to jump into it but after I got it I really liked it. It takes some getting use to as olight buttons work different by comparison but once you get the hang of the button clicks you'll probably end up liking it like I did. 👍🏻😎🔦
