Im only 40 but after 10 yrs in the oilfield and then some time in the refineries, i agree with the sentiment. Most only know enough to do what theyre told to do. I was always taught to learn everything and never quit until the job is done. Its a dying mentality and lost on many my age as well.

Huge work in filming and editing too. Thank you.

Was that truck in a very damp or road salt area, just amazed at the amount of corrosion under neath the truck, bloody hell I thought Wales was bad enough for damp and road salt. I really hope the truck runs well for you, and put it to good use. Allways like the longer videos, you have a nack of showing how the parts fit and go back together.

You should always put antisieze compound into the pto splines before you install the pump, there is always a small miss alignment and it keeps the splines from wearing. The fuel tank usually sits on some kinda tar rubber insulator tape between the bracket and the tank. You did a good job, yes that was a bunch of work.

Jesse, I think you did good, buying this FL-70, you still are not upside down in it, the 2 speed rear end shifts very smooth, (big +),it is low miles, and the 8.3 Cummins sounds great and starts very good! The 8.3 manual injected Cummins are great motors, and have plenty of power, and get great fuel mileage! You will find out, split shifting will not be necessary till you get into 5th gear! Give that rear end a break! And its got a air tailgate release/latch, which you will find is a great option! Big thumbs up!

You did one hell of a nice job on this. That's a sweet ride and worth all your time and money its going to end up being very reliable for you. How about some work on that sweet Cummins. Oil change ,fuel air and oil filters and clean out the injectors? Really enjoyed this vid, you got a new subscriber.

Where I live we don't have salt on the roads so real old vehicles only have rust from rain water. My 43 year old always garaged daily driver automobile is rust free under and over and in spectacular condition. Something that people living in the rust belt could never imagine.

Well done....enjoyed the video. I like the older vehicles also, even though it costs to fix all the little things, it will give miles and years of service and you don't worry about a little scratch on new paint.

That transmission looks good, the top of the gear teeth are flat and not worn to a knife edge. I don't see much wear on the sides of the gears. it doesn't have a lot of miles on it.

Funny, when this popped into my feed, in the first couple of minutes, I could see the landscape and hear the upstate accent, and thought this guy is busting his back putting 5 grand into a 5 grand dump truck, it's like he's Andrew's brother... Turns out they are friends! Good rebuild, Jesse!
