- In this video on Grubhub vs DoorDash vs UberEATS, I talk about each food delivery service provider regarding the following areas:
* Average money earned per order
* Frequency of orders you can receive
* Their app functionality
* Sales and popularity based on research findings
Based on my personal experience, I’ve made up to $15 an hour on average, and up to $25 an hour during peak hours and limited time pay bonuses.
The money you can possibly make from Grubhub, DoorDash, and UberEATS will likely be different based on your location, the time you work, and the volume of orders coming in.

Here's my newest comparison video of Grubhub vs DoorDash vs UberEATS!! Which one will pay you the most money?? Check out the video and see!!
Thank you everyone who watches this video! Everyone who reads this, in the year 2021 you will be financially wealthy!!
First thing that came to mind was Blue’s Clues
I work for Door Dash and the payouts very wildly. On a good night, I can clear $20-$25 a hour. I don’t do anything for less than $5.00 per order ( not including peak pay bonus ). If you’re a customer, you need to make it a descent tip to make sure the order gets taken; no tip means you’re order could float around for awhile and not get taken.
That I can agree. Customers that don't tip on the app are likely to wait longer to get their food.
Exactly! I will not do an order for less than 5 when I do doordash.
You don't get paid hourly!!! 😤😤😤
Doordash deactivates drivers over nonesense, they are picky as hell, The only way to go is either Grubhub and Uber Eats.
Glad that hasn't happened to me.
This is a well put video, I believe you deserve more views. Keep it up👏
Thank you for the feedback and for watching. Hope it was helpful!
Definitely
Hey Sheldon, well done! Thanks for this. Yeah I am considering doing this and you made this so thoroughly done and well thought out. Keep up the good work. Appreciate it!
Thank you for watching and really hope it helps!
Great video! I am in Sacramento as well and going to start driving in a month or two. I hadn't considered GH too much and was going to sign up for DD and UE but it sounds like GH is better. It's nice getting perspective from a local. I will use ur links below when I sign up.
Thanks for checking out the video and glad it helped give you light on which one to choose! Best wishes in your food delivery journey!
I have done DD and GH. GH hands down paid more per delivery. I am not in a small town/city. The lowest order for GH is $6 whereas DD can be $3 during non-peak pay. I don't bother with DD much anymore
Such a polite and kind video. Very informative. Thank you.
You're welcome! Thank you for watching the video and hope it was helpful.
@@sheldonalex it was.. you should be a teacher. Great demeanor you have.
@@smoothflight3090 That's nice of you to say. I'll give it some thought.

Hi I had a great Christmas thank you. Hope you had a great Christmas also!
Amazing info!
Thank you Louis!
@@sheldonalex you're welcome.
5:51 that must be in Las Vegas! I live here too. I drive Lyft because I would hate to go out and get food and come back to my car. But I guess I need another stream of income when Lyft doesn't have bonus's that week.
Yeah in that sense Lyft is good. If you're making good money with Lyft, I'd say stick with it, and maybe even try out Uber.
But I'd say give food delivery a try, since people are staying home and are willing to pay for convenience of having food delivered to them.
Thanks man God bless
Nah, i just started DD today and I had a lot of issue with their navigation. 8 out of 10 times it showed me the wrong place. it showed the destination is here, but it's actually on the side of the street or 100 ft away. took me minutes to find the places. Like in 1 order the navigation told me the destination was on the left, but it's actually the building from the across the street!
The worst I had today was the delivery to a condo. There are 5 condos in the block, and they were all surrounded by fences. The app showed me the destination is on the Michigan Ave. There was a gate open, so I walked in through that gate in the middle of the block. After the delivery, the gate was shut. I asked one of the tenants who lived there. He said that's just a service gate. Only the maintenance workers have the key. He told me I would have to walk around the block to get to the other side, or I could climb over fence if I didn't mind getting caught by camera. Jesus, it took me 5 minutes to walk around the block in 95F to get back to my car. The actual entrance for visitor is actually on the other side of the block, not on Michigan Ave. 😑
Thanks to this inaccuracy, my on-time rating is only 75%.
Yeah the navigation isn't always spot on with DoorDash or any of the other apps. Though I found DoorDash's navigation to be better than UberEats and GrubHub (from my experience).
You can contact the customers directly via phone or text (from the Dasher app) if you're struggling to find the exact location to deliver the food.
Thanks!
You're welcome. Hope it was helpful!
Gained a sub from this video 💪
Thank you I appreciate it!
Same 👋
Imma do it all!
Go for it!
*i got laid off 2 months ago so I decided to do Uber eats and door dash it’s been pretty good, I’m actually making more money then what I use to make I’m averaging right now $1400-$1800 in a Week in Las Vegas nv I also work 10-12hrs I work from 11am-2pm- 5pm-12pm, I also drive a older Honda Civic so it’s bullet proof with 200k miles*
Hi which area in Las Vegas is most profitable? Do you ever do the downtown area wonder if it’s a hassle going to the main casinos and going to the 30th floor to deliver if it’s worth it
That's great! That's good you're making a living delivering food, which makes you more money than what you were doing before.
Stay away from downtown and the strip because it’s a waste of time
I did uber/lyft for 3yrs now in Alaska! Also DoorDash, grubhub and some ubereats, too bad after this year my car disqualified, need 2010 or newer model
I forgot they have requirements for the year of the vehicle you drive. For awhile I did deliveries with my old 2003 Honda Civic.
Is there an advantage to working with multiple apps at the same time similar to how Uber and Lift drivers do?
Yes there is. It increases your chances of getting orders. You can be online on every food delivery app, but you have to be fast and flexible in switching between apps, and decide which orders are worth your time and which ones aren't.
Whenever you accept an order through, for example, Grubhub, you should go offline on DoorDash and UberEATS unless you get an order through them in the same area or restaurant. Hope this helps!
Gig drivers pay depends upon supply and demand. As the corporate controlled government floods the labor market with desperate and cheap labor from poor countries that will work for less money; it drives down pay for Gig drivers because there are too many drivers available that are desperate.
"But it don't make no sense!" Pa cried.
"Not till you see the fella that put out this here bill. You'll see him, or somebody
that's workin' for him. You'll be a-campin' by a ditch, you an' fifty other famblies. An'
he'll look in your tent an' see if you got anything lef' to eat. An' if you got nothin', he
says, 'Wanna job?' An' you'll say, 'I sure do, mister. I'll sure thank you for a chance to
do some work.' An' he'll say, 'I can use you.' An' you'll say, 'When do I start?' An' he'll
tell you where to go, an' what time, an' then he'll go on. Maybe he needs two hunderd
men, so he talks to five hunderd, an' they tell other folks, an' when you get to the place,
they's a thousan' men. This here fella says, 'I'm payin' twenty cents an hour.' An' maybe
half a the men walk off. But they's still five hunderd that's so goddamn hungry they'll
work for nothin' but biscuits. Well, this here fella's got a contract to pick them peaches
or-chop that cotton. You see now? The more fellas he can get, an' the hungrier, less
he's gonna pay. An' he'll get a fella with kids if he can, 'cause-hell, I says I wasn't
gonna fret ya." The circle of faces looked coldly at him. The eyes tested his words. The
ragged man grew self-conscious. "I says I wasn't gonna fret ya, an' here I'm a-doin' it.
You gonna go on. You ain't goin' back."
@@sheldonalex great tip, thanks.
@@ScottKazan You're welcome
@@Stewsdrums Especially when it's corporate controlled Republicans relying on cheap labor to put even more money in their pockets. Very sad, indeed.
Hi can you make a video update please? Im starting multiple delivery services on my ebike. I want to know who is the best as of September 2021
Hi thank you for reaching out. However, which food delivery service is best highly depends on where your location is, and the type of people who order from the apps.
Since you're on eBike, DoorDash, Postmates, and Uber Eats are good options since they allow orders to be done via bike. Try them all out in your market, and whichever one gives you the best orders and tips, I'd use them primarily.
I hope this helps, and wish you the best of luck.
im here in philly, also can you do a auto vs bike, in these elivery services
Good idea. I'll consider it.
Is there a app to combine them
I. One to switch between?
There's no app that combines them all, so you'll have to be fast when switching apps.
How do I figure out which services is most popular in my city?
You can do a search like "Food delivery market share by city" if you live in a major city. If not, then finding that data will be hard. You would have to try all three to test the results.
But to give you a idea of which food delivery is most popular overall (as of Oct 2021), DoorDash is number 1, UberEats comes 2nd, and Grubhub 3rd.
Do any of these apps reimburse on gas fees or is it only a tax write off?
It's only a tax write off
Wow...totally opposite. I quit doing grub hub because the tips were so bad. Even Grub Hub's fares were lower. I averaged $1.25 per mile with Uber and $.98 with Grub Hub, just based on fares, no tips. With tips, $1.48 for Grub Hub, and $2.48 with Uber.
That's interesting. Looks like in your market, people that spend and tip more are active on UberEats
How did you make so little? Do you take every order?
Not always. Sometimes there's downtime where no orders come in in my area so that gets factored in.
Does your car insurance increase due to driving for these companies?
That's a good question. I would check with your insurance provider to see if they offer a Rideshare Gap coverage, which offers coverage for you, the other party, and any property in the event of an accident. It would cost a little more for that extra coverage.
I average between $10-$40 tips on UberEats. I’m going to try GrubHub too.
That's pretty impressive. See if Grubhub customers tip more in your area. Otherwise stick to UberEATS
@@sheldonalex Thank you! I did GrubHub 5 times or so. The tips didn’t compare in my opinion, but it could get better if I kept going. I don’t see the need to though.
@@tamirajohnelle4700 You're welcome. Looks like in your market Uber Eats is the better option.
I make 250 a day on grubhub and 150 a day on ubereats
Use to do D/D, U/E, P/M... UT WAS FUN WHILE IT LASTED!✌️
WONT DO IT AND WONT ORDER ON ANY APP!
Hope it made you some money. Best wishes on your future plans.
I love Uber eats but it’s not as busy as door dash.
Yeah DoorDash has gotten very popular
@@sheldonalex I still like Uber Eats better. I just started Grubhub to.
@@LAMacli how’s Grubhub?
Your car insurance company will want you to raise your LIABILITY coverage on your car ins policy.
Yeah if you let them know you'll be using your vehicle for ride sharing or food deliveries then yes you'll need to add your coverage since you'll be on the road more often.
@@sheldonalex That is not the primary reason. Insurance companies do a risk analysis with every driver. Based on a certain age, statistically each of us is determined a certain risk level = cost to them for potential accidents. All kinds of demographics go into the statistical analysis. When we drive commercially, we increase their risk, and so the rates will increase. Progressive told me that my Liability amount needed increased. Further, they said as long as I am doing this by an App, it is this simple, but if I go to deliver food not by an app, it gets more expensive.
Blue clues?
Uber eats always takes or reduces the amount of money I earn. They told me it's a time issue but you can't make it their in their ETA without speeding. So bad. Sometimes half of my pay is taken .
That's odd that they deduct your pay for time reasons.
U are wrong on tips. big order the big money in any platform.
Thanks for sharing
From personal perspective, DoorDash is better than Uber eats because you know how much you’ll get before driving
Yeah DoorDash and Grubhub have that advantage over UberEATS
Yooo shout out to instacart.
:)
I averaged 20 an hour
That's good!
Wrong
Grubhub pays way better
That's good. Take advantage of what they're paying you in your area.
Turn the music off!
which prison did you break out of?
I'll give you a hint. They have all become trash. Don't ever do it full time.
