Love these old shows i am 71 grew up with these
Awsome, and I still use it... ain't that just right...love the outdoors!!!
What a surprisingly well made and delightful little film for 1950s TV, my childhood was watching 50s tv, but I missed this one, maybe it never came to England, many did!
Many of these shows were taken from a period from 1850 to 1900. My grandmother who died when I was 10, was born in 1877. My grandfather I think in 1876. So they were alive when the people portraid in this video were alive. Makes it more interesting.
My grandfather homesteaded I'm the Texas panhandle. It does make it more interesting
The lady dishing the borax into the washer by hand reminds me of an old friends wife (from Hokaido Japan) who would add spices to meals by simply measuring them in her hand. Always came out perfect.
What a great video. I wish things were a bit more like that nowadays. Progress, is not always progress, in my opinion.
I was born in the 1950s and there are some things I miss about those times, for sure.
me too. and remember it was sponsored by 20 mule team borax.
6 Years later it is even worse.
What a cute show!! I’ve never seen it & I thought I’ve watched all the old shows before. Jim Davis was so Handsome!! Thank you!!
the lipton ice tea guy in 70 s commercials too
These old movies had a great humor.
😮And a Great Deal of 💖👀
Ironic Humour As Well💋😈👍👄
Excellent episode of Death Valley Days !
Thanks gritt for bringing back all the memories, some of the shows and moves I havent seen since I was a kid. Keep up the good work.
Jim Davis who was in scores of roles (mainly westerns ) and later known for his role as Jock Ewing on Dallas, the last three years of his life.

Oh, the memories.. :)
Something about snobby, silk high hats. Minnie is a character. Down to earth, wise in her ways. Similarities of different scales.
Went from watching a an episode of wells Fargo with Jim Davis in it , that made me want to watch a few stories of the century episodes then I put this show on not even knowing Davis was in it lol..ole Jimmy D is all over the place for me tonight lol
Rosemary De Camp - the housewife/movie/TV star in the commercial - played Peg Riley in the Life of Riley sitcom, one of the earliest and best of these, opposite Wm. Bendix (What a revolting development THIS is!)
Excellent acting;civilized manners;SALLY MANSFIELD andJIM DAVIS.
This is probably from early 50's, 52, or 53.
This is great detergent
Until 2012, Carson City was one of five capital cities that was not serviced by an interstate (580 runs through it now). Contrast that with Washington DC today!!
I just went down to my local store and asked for a packet of Mule Team Borax, and they said that they have never heard of it..
Carson City Nevada.
Stanley Andrews as "The Old Ranger".
Love these with commercials still in. Would be nice to know date it first aired.
Jim Assalone 1953 which would be one of the early episodes (558 were made from 1952 to 1975) The title card "Little Washington" (at 2:20) says MCMLIII which is Roman numerals for 1953.
Yea, the year is easy I'd like to even know month and day being a geek for the shows I remember from back in 50's and 60's especially western genre.
Jim Assalone Syndicated shows such as this one weren't necessarily aired on the same day, nationwide.
+Jim Assalone yeah , i remember it well. 20 mule team borax was a regular sponsor.
Yes, this was originally syndicated in the fall of 1953.
This one was also 1953 with Sally Mansfield who is lovely!
She was inbetween filming Roland Reed's "ROCKY JONES, SPACE RANGER" at the time.
better on settings 480
Miny is quite a character
I have Got to get some Boraxo!
i would like to know on if you might have these episodes of Valley Days like (1) the Great Lounsberry Scoop the first report news of the battle of the Little Big Horn (2) the Newspaper that went to Jail (3) Forty Steps to Glory (4) a Women's Rights (5) the Devil's Bar so if you have any of them could you please Post them here on UA-cam,
The old Ranger meets The Lone Ranger.
( I couldn't resist.)
Tell the episode about the time traveler with the c aspirin box !!!
why all of the commercials they are not on TV LIKE THAT
Isn't it very annoying. Ads and commercials for things nobody I know purchases.
LOL ..why don't you keep one out where you can see it?! LOL
😊
Was there an "Atlantic Coast Borax Company" ?
Laceykat66 In East Death Valley.
Not really. In 1956, the company changed its name to "United States Borax and Chemical Corporation".
I think it's an insecticide now. Seriously
Jock EWING -J.R.'s father on DALLAS
chasles a larimer 1911-2002 crying
29:24
Need to tell her that you are only an hour from Lake Tahoe...ooppss...that won't happen for another hundred years....
No train? Why didn't they fly in?
Tge stage coach. OVERLAND STAGE COACH.
The STAGE COACH. OVERLAND STAGE COACH.
WELLS FARGO STAGE COACH.
@@lindalawon9151 You're kiddin' me, right?
It is amazing how much money is waisted on those who represent the people. No wander they think they deserve more and more.
Me Minnie! Lol
WHY? I LIVE IN THE USA.
Why is it called Death Valley instead of Borax City. I think I know as all the people in this movie are long dead.
It’s the Death Valley desert from which borax is mined
Has anyone noticed John Wilks Booth portrait on the wall starting at 4:55.
There is also a photo of JWB on the rear wall of the saloon in "High Plains Drifter" when he first enters before he dispatches the 3 shitheads.
What makes either of you thinks that is a portrait of Booth?
damn la dee daws
Sally Mansfield later played Vena Ray on " Rocky Jones , Space Ranger " in 1954.
She was a character actor of the times.
This is the second time I've seen her on this series. She lived from 1920 - 2001.
Great show but Nevada nowadays I just left there one year ago Sodom and Gomorrah gun fights every 10 minutes people slaughtering each other in the streets helicopter shooting at the casinos with machine guns ohmygod cannibalism rampid methamphetamine gambling and there's some strange people in black hood running around at night stealing and looking in Windows it's just too creepy for me I wished I was there a long time ago when this movie was portrayed
He Elijah Well...I didn't know that Chicago was really in Nevada...LOL..!!
All froth & bubble; no plot or substance
Death Valley Days
Little Washibgton.
The worst of the worst decorated house. Downright dreary and shabby looking.
The way they speak of Minnie (who of course is ACTUALLY a white woman doing "Brown Face"; or some idiots would say "RED Face") is appalling and makes me cringe. It's awful that they were pretty much showing people that this behavior is okay. Other than that - it's a cute show.
