I grew up watching all the old Western Movies with my Dad... He Loved watching Rocky Lane... Roy Rogers... Tim Holt.... Rex Allen... Randolph Scott... The Lone Ranger...and many more I grew up trying to live by the Code of those Cowboy Heros of my Dad and mine too...
Why is it that the bad guys always waited for the coach to go by so they could chase it for a mile? LOL It prolonged the movie. They also threw the bullets out of their guns. This is why the old B&W westerns are the best.
I don't watch Red Rider because I think it was dumb to have a child as a sidekick and I'm not that much of a Robert Blake fan ( though he was a good actor).
Gail Davis, the girl in this movie, had a lenghty affair with Gene Autry who was 18 years her senior. Gene Autry put her in many of his westerns & was producer of her TV series Annie Oakley.
Aaaah, the power of the casting couch, these days he would be persecuted with the rancid witterings of the feministas. As for G.D. She certainly had some good points.
god are there only Dumpets in here . all hand picked .like the shows audience ? was . all pretty girls with long hair ,Just His Type. i bet they were ruched outside quick as , so your great leader wouldnt run into any of them after the show , so thank you for that security. you might of saved a few young women s lives been Wrecked
Yes, Gail Davis was working at Republic at that time and had made one film with Roy Rogers. She then went to Columbia and was signed by Gene Autry to work in his films and later on television.
I am sure she played on a TV series of her own...perhaps that is what you meant by "television." The name of it evades me but I recall that pretty face.
These sound engineers must have never, ever ridden a horse! OR maybe, never paid attention to the fact that hooves make different sounds on different surfaces! THEY make them sound like they are always on hard surfaces! neglecting the fact that they make almost NO SOUND AT ALL on SOFT surfaces, like a field or an unpacked hillside/area, etc.
Im a little confused . do you think your mighty leader Dump dosnt know whos asking questions and what they will Be , Only the host of this show asked him any questions off the cuff. and as always he just talked about himself , you lot deserive Dump , i hope you get him , your not rice so . yer vote him in rep what you sow Bigots
"A horse is.a horse, of course of course, but who ever heard of a talking horse , unless of course that that horse is the famous MR ED!.," Rocky Lane was his voice on T V.
The outright ignorant, moronic, imbecilic plots they put in these movies is ridiculous. They will absolutely 100% of the time believe the bad guys story every time over the good guys. Its astounding how stupid some people can be.
Hey!! chill out!! These were not written for sophisticated viewers like yourself, but for kids to watch at the Saturday matinee. Accept them for what they were, and don't expect Oscar winning scripts and performances!! I for one wish that there were more Rocky Lane movies: his physicality and athleticism are quite impressive, revealing those skills that he used as a football player; somewhere he learned to slide like a baseball player as well.
Too cleancut. Films like this marked the end of the best Westerns. There´s too much story, the plotting slows down the action and gives a load of boring dialogue. The older Westerns were rougher, simple with clumsy storylines, but down to earth. Everything here is too smooth, even Rocky Lane is just too well dressed!

Great serial movies. Have no idea how I missed these.
Why is it that the bad guys always waited for the coach to go by so they could chase it for a mile? LOL It prolonged the movie. They also threw the bullets out of their guns. This is why the old B&W westerns are the best.

Pretty Gail Davis (1925-1997) appeared in a bunch of westerns. She was Annie Oakley in the TV series of the same name.
Of the four men to play Red Ryder, Rocky Lane is #1 in my book.
I don't watch Red Rider because I think it was dumb to have a child as a sidekick and I'm not that much of a Robert Blake fan ( though he was a good actor).

Great movie! But I have to say that Rocky's hat is glued on with some powerful hair treatment (Dapper Dan?) 💖 🇨🇦
Glued on with GREASE?
He had a nice horse.
Enjoyable, even though it's annoying me when one comes to help, then someone lies about him, and all the dissent people believe the lie.
The comment should be decent people and not dissent people!

@@jimmyboone4317 I quite agree, we weren't ALL so quick to play into the hands of the bad guys!!!
Take an eve strain there Tick, as fiction it is on par with the penny novel. You're meant to suspend belief watching movies.
