Marie Mahder (Dec 13, 1920 - Jan 28, 2001), best known by her stage name Sally Mansfield, was an American television character actress; she also had a few small roles in feature films including one with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Shes a real sweetheart in this one !
I love learning about the rugged people of the west this way. God bless those who documented these wonderful stories. Thank you to those who lived it & those who documented it for posterity.
Remember, some day going to Mars will be almost like living like this. There was nothing standing that didn't have to be made or built on the prairie. You either put up with it or gone back east.
I was six years old seven when this came out it was one of the few things you can watch on TV because there wasn't much TV nothing during the day and just a couple hours at night 20 Mule Team Borax yep where did all that time go
Thanks for uploading this! My 2nd great grandmother's family spent their 1st winter in Spanish Fork in a dugout. Their only food for months was potatoes.
Imagine you're out driving and get pulled over, you roll down the window, and it's this guy: "Hello, I'm the Old Ranger, and I have something interesting to tell you about your broken tail light."
DANG! Sista Sarah was the female grim reaper huh! But little did anyone know how right Sista Sarah was for being tough for making that 275 mile trip was hell on wheels so to speak(smile)
Black and whites. Are an art form todays h d. Have to use noise and flash along with sudden motion to keep the shot interesting . t m i .great job on down loads thanx
i would like to know on if you might have the Valley Days episode The Great Lounsberry Scoop the story of the Battle of the Little Big Horn and should you do then could you please Post it here on youtube,
Hi, any chance of seeing Death Valley Days "The $25,000 Wager" (1964 or '65) ? Very keen to watch that one - to help with research for a book I'm writing.
It's unfortunate that this shows Salt Lake as a crude frontier town. In reality, there was alot of cultural events -- music, plays, formal dances, schools, etc.
Here's the funny part: "the old ranger" was Stanley Andrews who was the narrator from 1952 to 1963. He was replaced in 1964 because they wanted a younger man. The younger man? Ronald Reagan!
BY would call people to go live in the wilderness forcing people to sell their homes for nothing. He and his buddies would buy up their farms, houses and businesses while the former owners lived in crude cabins and dugouts with their children and wives dying of this and that. I have my genealogy to prove it.
I like how they tried to make the mormon church look good but it would take more than a movie to do that. the husband thought more of the church then his wife and child could not think for himself but did what he was told like robot. could not make up his own mind and live where he wanted, thank the Lord I am not that dumb. gee
Where are all the other wives? This is among the most sexist pieces of propaganda I've seen in a long while.... Can't watch any more. six minutes is more than enough. Religous crap!
I'm not Religious, but I have Faith and Belief. With people like you who have no belief in anything but yourself and ideas. I'm surprised you even watched 6 minutes. Funny how the word God offends so many, but say Lucifer, Devil, etc and no one gets offended.
These are my great, great, great grandparents!!! I just found this link in my family history info.
Same!!!!
@@macercan that's too cool, cousin!!! 🤗!!!

You won't learn that from this garbage.
This is way better than today's garbage TV .
Remember, some day going to Mars will be almost like living like this. There was nothing standing that didn't have to be made or built on the prairie. You either put up with it or gone back east.
I love these old TV shows.
Thank you so much! Absolutely wonderful story.
What a nice story. That Sister Sarah was very annoying, but redeemed herself in the end. Good for her.
What a wonderful story about how hardships build the future!

This brings me back! The OLD RANGER! I Wish those days would come again - the 50's. This and Science Fiction Theater with host Truman Bradley.
Sally Mansfield also was in Rocky Jones, Space Ranger, as Vena Ray, Rocky's navigator. She was a talented actress.

Imagine you're out driving and get pulled over, you roll down the window, and it's this guy: "Hello, I'm the Old Ranger, and I have something interesting to tell you about your broken tail light."
This aired the year i was born! Sally Mansfield was beautiful!

Amazing
Wilhelmina `Willie` Cannon was married to my 8th cousin and personally knew many of my family.
I just was into westerns!
Starting @ 19:19 You could see the spark of something brewing. HOWEVER! @ 1958, you just KNEW she was getting ready to do something stupid(smile)
Death Valley Days - Sego Lillies (1953), Full Episode, Western TV Show
Not one for the Mormon Church but a great show!
GREAT ENDING
Great shows. Don’t make them like this anymore. Sad.
❤😊😊😊
Me gustaría que el audio sea en idioma español. Muy interesante la vida del pioner estadounidense.

One of my great-grandmothers refused to live in polygamy and went back home in Michigan.
I'm forever grateful that mine stayed. I honor those who sacrificed all to help build Zion, and those who are doing so today.
That Walker Colt at 21:43 would be worth a ton of money today !
i would like to know on if you might have the Valley Days episode The Great Lounsberry Scoop the story of the Battle of the Little Big Horn and should you do then could you please Post it here on youtube,
Hello. Sorry but we don't have that one

This was St.Geirge not salt lake
I wonder if they consulted with the native americans before they drew lots
Sister Sara looks like Susan B. Anthony.
Year I was born.
Weird for someone to call themselves "the old ranger"!
Howdy, I'm Bob ,the old ranger. would be ok!
Here's the funny part: "the old ranger" was Stanley Andrews who was the narrator from 1952 to 1963. He was replaced in 1964 because they wanted a younger man. The younger man? Ronald Reagan!
They wanted a YOUNGER man to be the OLD ranger!

No one is ever "forced" to do anything. The prophets don't demand, they only ask.
Interesting how screenplay by a woman & other key production spots female.

I'd love to hear some Science fiction Theater 2000 comments on this one.
Why you like hearing satanist speak?
What fools the mortal be.
Are you including yourself?
Werewolf preacher
I'm sorry, thats enough MoMo stuff for me, adios.....
Lieing episoded.
The monogamous version of Mormons? Nah... just clean it up a little bit make it appear civil and legal.
Always freaking politics!
Just appreciate something and don’t become gloomy like most of us are today in America!
Ignorant people just can't keep it to themselves.
Where are all the other wives? This is among the most sexist pieces of propaganda I've seen in a long while.... Can't watch any more. six minutes is more than enough. Religous crap!

YOU BETTER GET AS MUCH RELIGIOUS CRAP, AS YOU CALL IT, IN, AS POSSIBLE........WE ARE ALL GOING TO NEED IT IN EPIC PROPORTIONS
Don't know why anyone would choose this episode -- it epitomizes the worst of gender stereotyping in old-time TV, and in the 50s in general.
+Evie Hammond (truefeather77) go fix me a sandwich
+Evie Hammond (truefeather77) it fits the time, you have a problem, get me a sandwich soda and spread 'em.
