I am between the Vega and the Mirago plus. Which would you buy? This will be my first scanner but I don't want to buy something super cheap and then have to turn around and buy something else. Which I know in the 3D scanner world these are super cheap. Which of the 2 is better at scanning Dark things like hair and smaller things. Is there another scanner you would recommend I check also? Thank you and thanks for the review.

I tried both Miraco and Plus, but their adaptability is poor. In most cases, markers are required. In outdoor sunny conditions, they don't even provide any data. Last month, I bought Vega and watched their demo on scanning black objects. Compared to the others, its tracking ability seems better. The materials used feel much more premium than Miraco, and the data quality is also higher.

I have only tried the Miraco not the plus version. The Vega is better than the Miraco. It tracks incredibly well and picks up tracking very quickly if you reorientate the model. I found I could scan objects with one scan in many cases rather than having to combine scans. The Vega seems slight better at dark objects but none of this type of scanner are great at hair and black objects. Scanning spray is needed for black objects and dry shampoo spray works well on hair.

The Vega has slightly better tracking and working distances making scanning a bit easier and quicker but it is a more expensive scanner.
