Spot on Brandon, As an old Harley Mechanic that worked for a couple dealerships you would not believe how much every mechanic learns from their mistakes no matter how many years you've been doing it ! Lol... Time and repetition new problems and just when you think you know it something else new pops up, not to mention new models and each brand has their own little quirks. That is part of the enjoyment from working on machines that you love... Great video that brings memories back ! Keep em coming.
Good stuff! And yes, when you walk into a shop and ask “what do you think about xxx?” They usually want to roll their eyes and walk away because they have NO IDEA if you are competent, or what you have done do it before talking to them.
Good stuff! I’ve had a few situations, where someone had an issue where I was helping them or vice versa, & we changed the call to face time so we could see what the other was seeing. Sometimes that’s not an option for a variety of reasons, but has been beneficial when it was.
Many lessons are learned from our mistakes Brandon.. Mechanic for 45 years.. It's only those who don't have a go and take on a task that make no mistakes. Keep going young man.. you'll end up with experience and knowledge.
There’s a meme of a magician rubbing a crystal ball that I always send people when they text me with a super vague question and they ask “what’s wrong with my ____?” Lmao
You can't buy case halves separately bc they are machine together with the mating surfaces being very important as well as the crank pin bores. Even if you could buy them separate, it would be asinine to do so. You must get the matched case halves.
I enjoy your videos and while i can and so some maintenance on both my springfield and scout i would not even think about tearing into the engine or transmission even thought watching you make it look doable.i am a huge fan of the thunderstroke 111 and only have test rode the 116 and think they put out a product better than the Milwaukee eight on harley davidson, it would be cool if you have some tips and tricks or q&a content for the indian riders like me that will never open the engine but would lime to know a bit more about their bikes. My daughter rides the scout and i have taught her to chand fluids and she seems interested to learn more . I hope you have a blessed day and ride as much as you can cause life is to short to waste any holding a steering wheel
I made that exact same mistake. Because the one way clutch slides In easily when it’s the wrong way around and is very difficult to fit the right way around. I fitted it the wrong way around and had to pull that inner cover off. I also had to replace the front oil jet because it broke when the piston shattered. Luckily I didn’t have to replace the other one. Also found the clutch has 3 different friction plates in it when you pull it apart.
🏳 Thank you for the humanely socially technically very significant video. As an addition to a very important piece of background information, I would like to share this with you. A motorbike frame that has been made free of structural stress after straightening and balancing can be advantageously shot peened on the surface. This is a reining process that also leads to the highly elastic ideal behaviour of the chassis. 🏁
