On this day, July 22nd, 2023, I will use this video to help me do the front brakes on my 2007 Denali. Thank you!
Sir, thank you! Advice on caliper compression, Loctite, torque specs, greasing, etc. is much appreciated. Inspection and cleaning of parts, also included here is simply must while it's all apart. I'll have your video goin' as I work on my Denali. Again, thanks for taking your time to help us all out!
Professional work and Professional video with good tips. My new Delco pads also specified positioning the wear indicator opposite the bleed valve i.e. bleed top indicator bottom....Appreciate the video
Note : 2000 Yukon XL , When Replacing Disc Pads Only, Just Remove the 2-
T-55 Torx Bolts on the Caliper, You Might need to Fight the Compression of the Piston Cups to get Clearance with the old Pads, in order to Pull Off the Caliper.... But it Will Slide Off...! Then Compress the Cups with a Compression Tool or a 6" Clamp. Pry out the Disc Pads...and Replace with the New...just as You Took it Apart. Then Reload the Caliper...and 2- T-55 Bolts, Torque Them, Start Your engine, Pump Your Brake Pedal...to Bring the Piston Cups Back into Position on the Pads/ Rotor.
Do the Same on the Other Front Side. Note : No Need to Remove the Heavy Brackets... = Quick and Easy. Always Use Jack Stands...!! Your Welcome.

Very informative video, lots of tips for replacing pads in any american auto.
Thank you!
I notice you did not open the bleeder valve when you compressed the caliper. Won't that damage the anti-lock system?
I have a 07 GMC YUKON XL. I changed my driver side rotor and pads. Now I'm trying to do the passenger side. I'm having a hard time getting the caliper bolts off. Which way should I turn the bolts??
I've got a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali XL AWD, what's the torque specs for the caliper mounting bracket and for the caliper bolts too? I'm finding conflicting info on the net.
Great vid! Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
The title did not include replacing rotor.
Nice job, well done.
Do you always have to replace the rotor when change the brake pads? And do I follow the same step on a 1998 Yukon GMC?
+tmyeshia72 It is always a good idea to replace or turn the brake rotors when replacing the brake pads. The steps on all brake pad replacements will be similar to this video.
Thank you so much. Will these toqrue specs be the same on a 2011 gmc 1500 4x4?
The torque spec in the video is for a certain video. The spec for the 2011 GMC 1500 4x4 is 77 ft lbs. It just happens to be the same.
Is bleeding the brakes necessary when replacing the rotors and pads on a 2011 GMC Yukon XL?
I have a seized t55 bolt afraid about to strip took me 3 hours and still could not get it free tried heat PB blaster and cheater bar still stuck... help plz
+sanpedroray91 The problem is a seized bolt going through the Steering Knuckle. I do not recommend heat being put on the knuckle this can fatigue the metal and cause a premature failure. The real option is if the T55 bolt is loose from the treads the slider will need to be drove out using a good punch and heavy hammer. If the bolt is still locked to the threads I recommend using a good impact wrench to break it loose. The impact will work much better than trying to use a breaker bar. - Randy
+AMS Automotive thanks bro i apriciate it I'll give it another go
