Thank you, Leila. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Your presentations are always eloquent. Your narration is clear and easy to grasp. And you make each concept very clear.
Greetings from Papua New Guinea Leila! I have learnt a lot from your video tutorials and this one is no exception. Thank you for the great tutorials that you share every time.
Thank you Leila for this! I was thrown into an entirely different job and no one offered an explanation of Teams. This has added greatly to my limited understanding.
I'm a supervisor at a very large financial institution, and when I get people who are into excel and want to learn more I always recommend you. Can't wait to see what you do with this and I'm sure I'll be recommending these too. Great job- keep it up!
I tried it and it stays unmuted. There is sometimes a way around it, sometimes not. The best thing to do about Teams is to dismiss it altogether, consider it discredited and listen to all the negative reviews on places like Reddit. Take it out of the classroom, out of schools and universities and out of the workplace, and ditch it.
@LeilaGharani Dear Leila, Hello from Jerusalem Israel. How are you? I hope you are well. I am happy to introduce myself. I am Jonathan Trauner. I am proudly Jewish and Israeli. I graduated from Goucher College in May 2016 with my BA degree in History. I will turn 30 years old in Jerusalem Israel on May 15th 2024 next year. I daily save lives from car accidents with the Jerusalem Israel startup Mobileye. I am a real poet writer and artist. My greatest dream come true is to become the first autistic artist and poet ever to win my Emmy Grammy Oscar and Tony film awards in Los Angeles California in 2024 and to win my Royal Family knighthood honors. Looking forward hearing from you, Best Regards, Mr Jonathan Trauner Mobileye Intel Jerusalem Israel I got hit by a 90 mph moving bus in Jerusalem Israel in the area of Mobileyes main new campus on June 18th 2023. I only broke my left collarbone. I did not die. It is a miracle I survived. I finished recovering last month.
This is excellent. Thank you. I have been using Teams for just over 19 months and this is, in my opinion, one of the best Teams demos I have seen so far. Many thanks Leila!
Well, a truly complete guide for Teams and just in time when I shifted to Teams! I am pretty sure that like all other subjects, Leila's "magic" is going to work here too! 😊👍
🤯 when I learnt the search bar did way more than just search! One aggravation i have not solved in teams is multi tasking, ie working on a document and answering another team’s thread or starting a call. Great videos thx
You can start the call. Then go to your taskbar and you should see two Teams thumbnail windows. Pick the one that doesn't display your call. Move the call window to another screen if working with multiple screens or use splitscreen if only working on one device. Hope this helps! Oh you could also create a second instance of Teams by opening both the desktop app AND the web application. Give the web app its own shortcut on your homescreen. This way you can for example take calls and communicate in the desktop app and do deep work in the web app.
I’ve been using Teams for years, but some of the points made here are awesome, informative and taught me some new tricks. Also gave me some ideas on how to improve how we use Teams in my workplace. We almost live in Teams daily rather than email, so we’ve made huge progress toward moving to the 2020s, but there is more work to do. Thank you for all you put into these videos. Truly grateful for your efforts!
Hi Leila, I'm looking forward to this. I like your long list of topics. People are focusing on using Teams for video conferencing as an alternative to Zoom but it is so much more. I am pleased you are going to explore and demonstrate the capabilities of Teams. I would be interested in the document storage features in Teams and how Teams interacts with SharePoint 365 and File Explorer on the desktop. I'd also like to learn about 'What comes first? SharePoint or Teams? and Why'. Thanks.
@@nm3547 Hmm. Thank you. I'm not too sure about this. Files in Teams are stored in a SharePoint site. For example, in a Team, just look at 'Open in SharePoint'.
Great content for new users or learning users, my organization is now gradually transitioning people from Skype to Team. Thanks for the education. The only one thing that i haven't figure out which i hope you will cover in future videos are : 1) How to make full size view when someone is sharing their content (skype can do 100% screen, but Team can only cover about 80%) 2) While on Full Screen, how do i make a pop up to show who is talking (often timei struggle in a big meeting to know who is talking) I think the other things that will help the audience here is on each Team set up, there's always a backbone call sharepoint that's connecting the backend to do all the file repository stuff.
Thanks for the ideas. I cover screen sharing next week - I think that might help with the setup. With regard to 2) there isn't really a way to do this, unless you have another laptop or device and you login to the meeting again on that device. You keep that laptop close to you and set the view to see the participants - that makes it easier to keep an eye on chat as well, which is something I do in my trainings. (I'll add this as a separate video too). With regard to SharePoint, I touched on it a bit in this video but I'll make a note to add more details on this in the future. Thank you for your feedback.
Awesome tutorial. We use MS Teams at my work, and I didn’t know of all these things we could do with it. I’m going to apply them all. Thanks, I love your channel. I subscribed because of your Excel videos, but this is very useful too.
I am using Teams for more than year by now, and feel very confident with using it. Yet, I watched this video because I knew Leila will add something knew to me, and she did! By the way, me too I like it default in the laptop, but dark in the mobile!
Hello Leila, in fact this is the best MS Teams tutorials I've ever found on the internet. Thank you very much for such an amazing and concise explanation.
One of the biggest issues that I have with Teams is that meetings in a channel can only be managed by the original meeting organiser and not by any team owner. This makes delegation during leave an issue. This means that people that leave an organisation can leave orphaned meetings. Other than this it seems pretty useful so far.
Great tutorial. However, I find Teams useful for managers that do nothing but “communicate” all day long. I work for a large health care organization and see patients all day long. I belong to so many Teams that it has become overwhelming and I finally stopped tracking and using it.
Because hospitals don’t know how to use teams correctly. Typical admin bloat. Meetings that are informative should be emails, committees should be meetings with minutes, and only active projects that have a goal end date or objective should be a project in a team. Things from within a project can then be shared via any tool to a wide audience when needed.
Spot on. Thank goodness I’m freelancing now. No teams. No salesforce and all the other control freak tools used by corporate. It’s magic and I’m so much more productive. By a long shot. From South Africa.
Excellent tutorial! I'd only used the meeting feature of Teams before now; I had no idea that Teams was so expansive! Your video was a huge help in learning my way around. Thanks.
I've been using MS teams for well over 1 year and thought I was pretty proficient! As always this video taught me so much more such as: - The Announcement feature -Pinning messages -Customising stickers & memes Thanks so much, Leila, another great video.
Hi can you help? I am a student I joined a meeting, it was supposed to be recorded, but we only have 19 mins of it in the Files. So is it possible that I did stop the meeting myself? because it showed me that it was recording, and I stopped it thinking it was recording only for me. Please, I need to make sure.
Hi! I'm loving your videos. So great. I am using TEAMs and I have lots of external users that seem to have issues using teams. Do you have any videos or guidance for external users, logging in, authenticating ? Thanks!
this is my first time using MT , I'm not that confident but because of your comprehensive and intensive explanation I gain the confidence I needed :D thank you so much
Thanks again .. sorry to have missed you live ... just saw the video for the sake of my daughter as she is doing her online class through teams ... We both saw the video ... thanks a lot again ...
Thank you Leila. In the future, would you be kind enough to make your white pointer larger and red or some other color, to make following along easier? I really enjoy your tutorials. Thank you!
I’ve been using Teams for 18 months or so, and this is a good introduction to it. Having said that, I do find it very clunky. Switching between organisations is terrible, and only have one tab means you are forever closing and reopening things. If I need info from a chat when I’m in a spreadsheet it’s just clunky. I hope that Microsoft thinks more about the user experience. I look forward to watching more of your videos too.
Hey Leila, i have been watching quite a few tutorials of yours. Teams was an eye opener as I only use zoom and Google meet. Of course I won’t learn everything in one day but definitely I wl save this to go over it time and again to master it. Thanks Leila. Much appreciated, good job 👍

I prefer high contrast mode primarily for one reason. If you click on a notification on the activity feed, Teams takes you directly to the post and highlights briefly the post that generated the notification. The highlight is very subtle and I often miss which post it was, especially if there are many posts on the page. In contrast mode the highlight truly stands out and since I use my activity feed as my "inbox" I find this very efficient. Not to mention I love dark backgrounds and the contrast is really good for my old eyes.
Dear Ms. Gharani: In my "retirement" my mind is still restless. This particular video was SUPER WONDERFUL. Thank you very much. I will relay what I have seen to a group I participate in that I am certain will want to know more about "Teams" and "Getting things done through and with others utilizing resources" as the the old definition of "management" goes. Thank you.
I don’t hesitate to share that I enjoyed the excel better than always after seeing your videos. Please share more videos on power query. It’s kind of automated excel works in office with less efforts. Specially appending excel sheets with dynamic column headers.
Hi Mam, I am a regular viewer and subscriber of your channel. This has great information and practical viability and I do recommend this space to all to have more learning experience in spreadsheets and other visualization tools - Thanks!
Question regarding the transcript feature. It's only available for business accounts? Does it save the entire conversation displaying the names of who talks only in video meetings? Where's the option to enable/disable it? Where does it save the transcript? Thanks!
I must say ''thank you'' for the good lesson you are sharing to the big world,I being one from East Africa.your teachings in Excell are really very helpful.thanks.
Thanks Leila, im glad i found your video. Thank you for explaining step by step, i just started using Microsoft Teams with my class of new hires and i was unclear on some things. I will definitely come back, still not clear on the meeting side. i go in to meet now and it asks the same question twice :/
Great tutorial, I am already doing a lot of what you have shared. 2 of the biggest things I've done to help me with the ton of E-mails I receive is create a rule for all CC E-mails to go to a folder. You showed how to color code but I had taken it a step further long ago and typically only review my CC folder once or twice a day. Problem is E-mail etiquette is unknown to a lot of people or they simply choose to ignore what CC is used for; however, some friendly conversations along the way have really helped. 2nd big thing is creating a rule that catches EXTERNAL domains (eg. customers) so that all of those E-mails go into a separate folder for review. I work in customer service so this helps remove the noise between internal versus external E-mails. The trick to accomplishing this may sound easy but Active Directly turns internal E-mails into friendly names so you cannot simply filter your internal domain address. I learned long ago you can filter by using a search text for /ou in the sender's address which catches all internal E-mails. The one big thing I am starting to do from your tutorial is that like you I created an action item for E-mails that I need to spend more time on, I call it a To Do List. I was not aware that I could start Outlook in that folder so that was a great tip. Often times I have found myself overlooking my To Do List.
Leila, please confirm if as an organizer of 2 meetings scheduled to hold at the same time, I am able to download attendance list and record both meetings
,Thanks Leila. I am planning to have similar training to my Team. How I can show demos like breakout rooms, polls and other features by sharing another demo Teams window like you did.
Excellent teaching speed. If I do not pick something up _I_ can scroll back and forth but I do not have to watch thru stuff like "how to boot your laptop". I guess you also get more views that way which is good.
Wow, very glad this came up as a recommendation. Outstanding Leila! You covered a lot of ground in this video. Very well done. Now I have to go perusing your channel for more. Thank you.

I must say ''thank you'' for the good lesson you are sharing to the big world,I being one from East Africa.your teachings in Excell are really very helpful.thanks.
You are very welcome!
Thanks Leila, im glad i found your video. Thank you for explaining step by step, i just started using Microsoft Teams with my class of new hires and i was unclear on some things. I will definitely come back, still not clear on the meeting side. i go in to meet now and it asks the same question twice :/
Thank you for sharing this Ma'am. I love the way you teach. Keep it up!
Glad you liked it!
Heya! Thank you ❤ this has been extremely helpful
I absolutely LOVE the dark mode
Hi, your videos are great! Can I ask why I cannot search for documents that are located in document libraries which I made into tabs on a team?
Your videos are simply awesome. You have covered every minute detail that's there to know. Thanks for doing this. Great day to ya 🙂
Thanks for the tips on Outlook, David!
Leila, please confirm if as an organizer of 2 meetings scheduled to hold at the same time, I am able to download attendance list and record both meetings
Really a great video to effectively use Microsoft teams.... please make a dedicated video on meeting in teams
I had a lot of problems in teams and this video helped me a lot. Thank you so much. :)
Glad to hear it!
,Thanks Leila.
😁
Thank you Leila. I got a question. If I invite a guest to the group, does she need to have a business account?
Thank you for creating this platform and sharing your knowledge.
My pleasure!
Wow, I thought I had good lighting, but you take it to the next level. Very professional look! I must emulate. :)
Thank you!
