Thank you all for you nice comments and compliments! At this point in time, I think this track is below my current production standards. The samples are a little stale and synths are a bit thin sounding, and the mastering could be improved. So hopefully soon if I have time I'm going to try to remake this again; the same arrangement but with yet again better instruments. I'm glad you enjoy it!
Sometimes when I listen back to some stuff I made years ago, they still sound better in some ways from what I made recently. Sure I didn't know my stuff as much as now, but I think that's why it makes everything sound so special. Your tune kicks major asses man, and yes perhaps it is not up to your current standards... but maybe that's why it's so perfect? Haha! I am listening to it when working on some boring documents. Could you remake some tunes of Killer Instinct 1 and 2? I would love to listen to what you can do with those! Cheers.
I love seeing how 1:01 is by far the most replayed part of this song, that note progression is just heavenly and I'm glad to see that lots of people are recognizing it
My goal for this was to take the original vision that David Wise had for the composition, and reinstrument it with modern tools and samples. So it's more like a remake than a remix.
@@tobediscontinued1795 Very little is anywhere near as good as Sticker Bush Symphony . True, but he composed the orginal song and the arrangement of the music, sophistification which is crazy to say for nintendo music. The guy is a genius because it was compressed though Rare was ahead of it's time and good quality definitely for 16bit. But instuments used in the songs and recorded by compressed to low quality obviously. But the melodies were set and translatable to real instruments and a song like this translatable to edm or such music. Like a lot of nintendo like songs can be played by real instruments, but most sound "nintendo-ey). Listen to the orchestra renditions of snow bound and stickerbrush and mining melancholy. They are unbelievable. Like beautiful, and like it's not listening to nintendo music when with an orchestra. People who never played donkey kong and went to an orchestra played those songs, they'd never guess it was from a video game, because of how good the melody blends and set for orchestra and instruments. I bet if people heard this song at a rave or club and never played or knew of donkey kony, they probably would feel it's just a dance dj mix and would dance or love it
Kremcroc Industries is probably my favorite world in the game. I like the mine walkways and I like the factory levels. After beating the hard Gorilla Glacier I am always happy to enter this world. It's definitely worth the reward after beating tough stages like Snow Barrel Blast and Ice Age Alley.
ColdBloodedKeys well the original version was like this title theme here's the link. www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/212261 and this is why i needed like about my story line and makin' a looping for my main off title screen storyboarded version. www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/548811 this is what i would basic off only but not the weapons ;) just leave a mssage.
I would say the last 3 worlds of the game before Gangplank Galleon was also where the game was like "Yeah I am through toying with you. Now it's time to get serious." Those worlds really put your skills to the limits especially Chimp Caverns with levels like Tanked Up Trouble, Loopy Lights and Platform Perils.
Wow bro I remember back in the 90's I started playing Donkey Kong country for the first time for fun, then I became fond of the Snes cartridge and when I got to the Gear factory stage how difficult it was, I think it's time to take this one great game in cerium when I had to jump from one arrow to another before falling, and its spectacular sound, I came here out of nostalgia looking for this audio because I love this game, greetings colleague, I am a UA-camr, 2D animator and illustrator, I hope to upload a video later and if you allow me to use this audio when I have to draw DK, greetings crack, I hope to hear the other version when you make the arrangements, blessings and success to you
That is amazing. I remember the music from the first Donkey Kong Country game on both GBC and SNES. I think it is my favourite music in Donkey Kong Country series of all time. It's a very catchy music.
You made it in such a way where the original song plays, but improved it with modern instruments. I loved this game and this song from the game, as well as your version. If nintendo makes a to-the-core remake of this game and it features the industrial levels. This should be put in.
@evesira Yeah my friend, it's not only a remake, but also a reflectiona and a vision about the future...it's incredible how Rare composers could do someting that fit perfectly to the electronic music scenary of nowadays...great job!
Super Nintendo, and just retro games in general, had some of the BEST music ever made for video games. Don't get me wrong. The games that we get now have great soundtracks too, but I grew up on SNES, SEGA Genesis, and other consoles of the like. That's the music I came to love as a child.

you are incredibly underrated my friend I listen to alot of your ambiance tracks and I was floored at how well you are able to capture "atmosphere"
Whoever made this remix is awesome!
I'm a fan of "industrial/factory percussion" (metal being hammered, etc) used in music that I sadly don't know how to find more of.
Yeah I'm with you, I love this genre but actually good quality tracks like this are hard to find.
