Trivia - some older Windows versions (10? Home variants??) have a default photo viewer/editor that, when commanded to rotate, would simply add some magic to the metadata embedded in the photo to instruct the viewer to rotate. Which works fine when viewing on Windows but is problematic (i.e., up to the viewer software) on other platforms. The user just needs to use some other app to do the rotation, but it isn’t obvious that this is the solution. :(
