Приєднався 1 тра 2019
Lost Socket Garage.com was created in 2019, though its roots run much longer. It all began with a group of friends that loved to modify their cheap high school cars with next to no actual budget. Originally focusing on our love of American Muscle, we grew into specializing in Classic Ford mustangs and more specifically the highly popular Coupe to Fastback Conversion. With the Fastback Market skyrocketing, we wanted to provide a realistic alternative to owning a classic Fastback without shelling out the premium they draw. With many Successful conversions under our belt, our goal is to provide Knowledge, Experience, and the highest Quality in the industry at a reasonable price. At Lost Socket Garage, we truly love the car culture and the community that goes with it. It’s not about the money, it’s about making people smile when they hit the gas.

I feel SOOOOOO much better about my 68 FB purchase! Power disc brakes, power steering, Florida car.. overhead console, BENCH FRONT SEAT.. 351c(originally 302), C-6, Full Eleanor kit (minus hood)..20K Yes.. it will need floors and a torque boxes or two..
Damn good deal! Annnnnnnd a bench front seat, awesome.
So the one thing Freiburger said on his "explanation" (really just a history lesson), on the Motortrend story is, that he knows nothing about the business side of things. He also gave some flack to anyone who thinks he had anything to do with Roadkill going behind a paywall (might br true), and mostly said lots about how much he loved it all. And then also said he knows nothing about why it's over. Hmmm.... So here's the deal: Simple economics. At some point in every business venture the ROI (return on investment) starts looking not as good as it could (and they always want a little more every year...). In lots of cases it is because it gets top heavy, or starts taking on other unavoidable costs, or simply can't meet its sales targets. But other times someone (usually very high up who only looks at money), says, the money this is tying up could be making more money doing something else. So is those cases its the change of the "something else" that causes the money guys to want to sell off everything and go make more money at that other place. And the double whammy here is that there probably doesn't need to be much more new content from Roadkill etc. 13 seasons of episodes is still generating cash. So why spend new money? It's a diminishing returns problem. Freiburger also said that Roadkill was the first show to just get rid of the fake drama, and show all the blunders too. So any move to UA-cam tends to do that too. So it's all about real people doing real things. And the personality and energy of those people makes a huge difference in their success. Add up all this, and then think about what UA-cam actually is: It's old school public access TV with ads. They make revenue by making "bandwidth" available to anyone, and then just lets the market determine what's hot. No program director etc, They have none of the issues of TV or streaming. They have multiple billing strategies and no costs related to content. That's our problem. The viewer is the unlimited source of creation. To put it more like modern business: "they outsourced all their content creation to the audience". So now we all have 100% creative control (something Freiburger also said he had on Roadkill), and there is no real need for a bunch of suits to run anything. Which is what tore apart Donut Media. So the car guy content isn't going away. It's just a shift. And it's a pretty good shift too. Getting rid of the parasitical layers of management is probably the best solution to just about all of our economic problems. Someone will do another Road kill, and call it something else. And it might even have good production values, especially with more people working on great projects, and fewer fat cats thinking they can take the largest slice. Business is the most ethical when the costs and profits are directly related to the goods and services, and not just some way for money changers to charge fees for vapor. Love your energy, Hunter! Love your Channel. Love your business! Cheers!
Thanks for the insightful analysis! It's definitely a different landscape out there. The passion and energy of the creators is key for sure. I sincerely appreciate the support!
Lot of detail work here.
ALOT haha
Florence... That's near where the SuperMax is
I'm in Michigan, I wish most here were this clean!👍
Michigan weather can be brutal on cars
Since Jackhole thinks its worth more then a Shelby...this owner should sell it to jackhole for lets say $50,000 as is...that's a pretty good deal! 😉
I agree 100%
I struggle with so much content being put behind pay walls. I get the concept, but none of us are made of money. Of all the things I follow on social media I don't believe the value is there for a long term commitment. Agree with your take on the shows. I just want to see whomever do their own thing. Let them be themselves and share their content without the unnecessary crap. I appreciate you just keeping it real.
Solid take. Thanks for the support
I have been looking at 1965-67 Restomod Mustang coupes. I see them listed at around $31,000 to $60,000!🤯 Which websites are best? How far will you travel to inspect a car? Is Lemon Squad reputable?
Shoot me an email at lostsocketgarage@gmail.com
As of 11-21-24. 2x4x3/16 at 20ft is $155 at my local supplier in southeast US. Figure $3-400 in material. Cheap insurance in my book.. especially if u got frame rails, rockers or torque boxes to replace..
Bang is definitely worth the buck
That Stang is Rockin'!!!! 🤟
Thanks!
I don't always get to jump on the live stream, so thanks for recording!
No problem, glad you can catch it!
Hey I know where there is 10 or more mustangs been there for 30 plus years. Don't know if they can be bought or not.
Go snag some!
Trivia - some older Windows versions (10? Home variants??) have a default photo viewer/editor that, when commanded to rotate, would simply add some magic to the metadata embedded in the photo to instruct the viewer to rotate. Which works fine when viewing on Windows but is problematic (i.e., up to the viewer software) on other platforms. The user just needs to use some other app to do the rotation, but it isn’t obvious that this is the solution. :(
Yes, on the 4 link rear.
Nice. Makes more sense to do these on any restomod that needs a batter panel ans core support.
Agreed! Makes for a clean and organized engine bay.
Add spf50 to your list!😂😂😂
You got it! Those sunburns are brutal.
feck me ...way to fast m8
lol yeah not my best vid
Regarding the electric mustang....Carol Shelby is rolling around in his grave
Amen
Cool i am building a 69 shelby body shell from scratch
Awesome!
Great Stuff Hunter!!!!
Thanks for the support!
Should you have sung midnight special?
... yup missed opportunity. Thanks for "shining a light" on it ;)
So by Coyote radiator, are you saying that the radiator out of a 2011-2023 Mustang will fit? Thanks for another killer and super informative video! 🤘
Yuppers!
Damn nice panels i wish i know this eaarlier 😂😂
As always, very informative! Thanks fellas.
Appreciate the support!

Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it!
That 72 is interesting.
Looks good Hunters
Awesome job
Appreciate it! Glad you liked it!
not worth it, nor are they deliverying. 18 months and no deliveries.... waste of time at this point.
Most scenarios, I agree
i really want to buy your guys’ 67’ fastback roller project but don’t have the funds, really cool car and glad it led me to your channel!
There will always be more! Thanks for the support!
Hey fellas, im a youtube Mechanic as in i watch youtube to learn how to turn wrenches. For this kit, what bear brake pads do i need? I burned through the set they gave me and i dont have the paperwork. Any help?
If you have the Wilwood kit, just go to the wilwood site, find your kit and it'll have part numbers. UA-cam is likes a giant haynes manual haha
There's a couple of issues with manufacturers couldn't make vintage body styles with modern guts. First thing is that it wouldn't pass the safety standards. The second reason would be that outside of the handful of bodies that Dynacorn and other vendors make, those stamping dies would have to be remade using OEM pieces, and since they changed the bodies slightly every year, the car would end up being over $100K for a '68 Mustang with a S650 underpinnings.
Solid point! Didn't think about that!
an electro mod? Absolutely not.
Haha right?!
We did a 69 shell for a customer and we had an additional 50 hours in setting the gaps, so that’s another thing to consider.
Yeah, I'm not terribly looking forward to it
Outstanding!!! Exactly what I was needing. Great video with detail. Keep them coming.
Awesome! Glad we can help!
i hope other you tubers see your video to see how its done. you made a very detailed video and explained how and where to install these brackets. thank you . next up for a video is the window molding clip pins ,the new quarters dont have them .detailed video please sir . great video keep up the hard work it will pay off someday.

Hell yeah, shared my story on Patreon. This is an awesome subject. Love it! We all love the Hacksaw mods!!!!
Hacksaw mods are the best!
Bought my 67 fastback 289 4spd for $1800.00 in 1982 sill have it
That is awesome! Keep that one forever.
Keep doing what you do, this makes my day...i really enjoy your work and videos...just an oilfield guy with a dream to own a fastback one day.. hopefully I can send mine your way .. straight from Tx..💪🙏
Hell yeah buddy! Appreciate the support! And send her up here! but with some whataburger... cause I miss that haha
Awesome job... hopefully one day i can afford a coupe and do this conversion..💪
Great video!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Barry Gilgen I have a 1965 coupe and wish to make it a fastback. I watch your video's all the time and have seen you do a conversion on one can you tell me what the cost is for a conversion, I know there is a lot of cost that you might find once you start, but the initial cost, mine is in good shape don't have any rust that I see, it has a 289 c-4 tranny, just want a fastback. think you can change it and not even pull motor or tranny really don't touch front of car, maybe not. I know will have to pull out interior which mine has a new interior, and the car will need painted after, but just to do the conversion, I could pull the interior.not sure you can tell me but maybe.
Shoot me an email at lostsocketgarage@gmail.com
Since you're taking in another trade with the sale of Oscar what are you think about putting in a 3.5 EcoBoost! Little change of pace from a standard 302 or coyote swap
Haha well I mean thats an option, but the next one coming in we will just be turning into another roller. You could buy it and throw one in it!
Not that it really matters if you're not looking to do a mustang 2 front end but believe that the Mustangs to Fear front suspension doesn't support 351C motor
You are correct. They don't make a setup for the cleveland. There is an issue on doing so but I don't remember what they said it was.
Are these for the wire hooks to the bows
What are the headliner brackets for?
Retains your new head liner
Hunter I thought we were going to talk about gambling Bracketology?!? I’m glad you put this out even when I stock 67 fastback my hold open bar was bent all the heck from previous owners stuffing the trunk full of I don’t know what. I cut a piece of short 2 x 4 into a hook and used it to slowly tweak it back to where the thing worked right. The brackets and things where they need to be and hold it up or not exactly the most user-friendly when damaged. But it is easy to flip folded down seat right back up and be able to put passengers in the back had problems with that.
Haha if I ever talk about actual Breacketology, do not listen haha
