Street Fighter IV: The Full Story ~ Before the Tournament

- Hi, everyone. This is a video I put together with all the anime cutscenes from Street Fighter IV, including Super and Ultra.
One of the things I didn't like about SF IV's story was how disjointed the narrative was, and, to be blunt, how half-assed it was told in some areas. Granted, they stepped up their game, for the most part (The Ties That Bind and the Juri OVA ARE canon, believe it or not), but still, there's a lot of room for improvement.
So, I decided to take the liberty of ordering the scenes in a way that should make sense. I also did some fancy editing and effects in a few spots to add to that.
I'm hoping this helps you make a little more sense out of Arcade Mode.
This first video covers the events before the tournament, close to nine months after the anime specials. I'll the posting what happened after the tournament later on. I want to combine the two videos into one, but first, I want to know what you think. Does it make sense? Are there any changes I need to make? Feel free to tell me, but please...be respectful.
(Street Fighter is owned by Capcom.)
KoF and Street Fighter both have such great character design. From The moves to the music every thing is just awesome.
I have always felt bad for guile because his motivation could be applied to anybody who has lost a close friend to something unjust
I like how Fei Long's back-story gives a parallel to how the crime syndicates used to try to intimidate Bruce Lee.
Also the cutscenes of the rivals matches were important in the game, they were basically the people who faced each other during the tournament. Some had more than two scenes in Super that eventually narrowed down to just one in Ultra.
Don't worry, hahaha. You did an excellent job, thanks, brother.
Ibuki is something else 😂😂
This is a monumental task, thank you for giving a shit and putting this all together for our community.
I'd like to know where you got the 9 months after the OVAs (is it Eliza's pregnancy?). Guile's prologue for example definitely takes place before the Juri OVA, while Cammy's seems to take place immediately after (Juni is still in the hospital).
Also I wish you included the Aftermath OVA (and other promo clips), because it is key to understanding SF4 and chronologically took place before everything including TTTB and Juri OVA.
Yeah, Eliza's pregnancy was a factor.
There are four Aftermath OVA: Ryu & Akuma, Chun-Li, Sakura, C. Viper. Chun-Li's is the only one in English, so for consistency, I chose not to use them.
I'd say Eliza is about 4-6 months during the SF4 prologue. I'm using this chart: media-3.web.britannica.com/eb-media/67/95267-004-55C66AFB.jpg
Well C.Viper one is the most important. Namely because it sets the whole plot in motion. C. Viper does her investigation and it leads her to becoming an undercover agent in SIN.
But I understand what you mean regarding the language. Well done nevertheless.
I think the most important cutscene in this whole thing is the one showing a flashback of Cammy and Decapre as children. Prior to seeing this, I had always assumed that Cammy's protectiveness and desire to rescue the Dolls and free their minds was simply due to their shared circumstances of being mind-controlled by Shadaloo. But the scene with Cammy and Decapre as children raises many new questions. It now appears that the 12 Dolls (or at the very least, Decapre) were kidnapped while still children, then subjected to genetic modification, martial arts training, and mind control. It's hard to know how long ago that scene may have taken place, since we have no way of knowing whether or not, along with genetic modification, Shadaloo had developed a way to accelerate the Dolls physical growth to maturity. It now appears that Cammy may have harbored repressed memories of having known the other Dolls when they were all children. Since it doesn't seem likely that Capcom is retconning Cammy's backstory of being cloned from M. Bison's DNA (which is made more apparent by the fact that Cammy is different because she's the 13th Doll, and doesn't have a code-name reflecting the month of the year that she was born, so she was intended to be the commanding officer of the other 12 Dolls), we still have to wonder why Cammy (Bison's clone) and Decapre (a child kidnapped from Russia) share the same face. Since you obviously had to study these clips extensively to determine a proper chronological order to place them into, what's your opinion on this?
Well said.
I would say, though, that Decapre impressed Bison enough to base his clone off of her, and had Killer Bee aged enough to grow up naturally with the rest of the Dolls.
Awesome! Thank you for this!
*Mama I will become the big potato!!!*
So you wanna become a vegetable...
I loved this video. This is gonna seem like an insignificant correction, but I'm an obsessive compulsive word nerd, so here goes: without further ado is technically correct, not adieu. Much ado about nothing (Shakespear) means many events occurred, whereas adieu is French for goodbye.
matt baber Drat it. I can't believe I missed that.
ibuki is a crazy girl. I wish all girls are like IBUKI
God damn that’s the first I’ve ever heard of that remix, in the balrog story hot damn
Sakura is sweet
So is your Mom tbh
I would live to see asura and yasha in street fighter v
That's pretty cool, it needs more view!!!!
If only Capcom could bring back the GALLERY MODE and have there the prologues and endings from SF4 and SSF4 .....
That's the only thing that pissed me off lol
Also another thing I sort of dislike, most of SF characters don't have a full name lol I love simple details like that ..... MK has names, Soul Cal, Tekken and so on, GIVE ME MORE FULL NAMES CAPCOM!!! XD
Ken Masters, Edmond Honda, Sakura Kasugano, Dan Hibiki, Cammy White, Fei Long, Cody Travers, Juri Han, Poison Kiss, Hugo Andore, Rolento Schugerg, Sean Matsuda, Yun Lee, Yang Lee, Charlie Nash.
Crimson Viper is a code name, her name is Maya, but we don't have a full name, Rainbow Mika is Mika Nanakawa, the Thunder in Thunder Hawk is technically his tribe's name so he technically doesn't have a full name either lol
As for Poison Kiss, that is in Japan only (which in this case would be the real official name, like Balrog is actually "Mike Bison") and the only comment I can make about "Poison Kiss" is that it sounds more like a stripper's name rather than "his" actual name.
The others were right. :P
There's also Karin Kanzuki.
+n1hondude T.Hawk's old man is called Arroyo Hawk. So it is probable that Thunder is his actual first name or nickname.
Amir-Hamza Sheikh What's your source for his dad's name? UDON? UDON stuff is awesome but not canon until Capcom says so.
I know his name is Thunder Hawk, his tribe is the Thuderfoot and those are indigenous names so it's quite accurate.
Such an amazing amount of work! I also share your sentiment of giving the storylines in fighting games some kind of importance to get attached to the characters beyond how cool they feel to use in the actual game, which is why I like the Guilty Gear series or I'm interested in playing Injustice 2 even if the mechanics aren't my cup of tea.
This video seems like the ideal place to ask: I wanted to play the games in chronological order (SFIV, SFV, SFIII), but I always got very confused with conflicting regarding the SF IV games....I can currently mainly play Ultra, so this means that game does NOT include the cutscenes/story beats of vanilla SFIV & Super ?? Therefore I should watch those first on youtube and THEN play Ultra? I guess the OVAS are a good watch before/after the games as well. Thanks a lot.
Novapoid Correct.
(Sorry for the late response.)
Thank you for this, makes everything so much easier
Good video. I agree with what you said about the story being all over the place. Capcom should do much better. You should remake this video with the original Japanese voices and English subtitles
shadow-leu /shadow-law? i guess its the same thing, based on diff street fighter series
Where can i find the full movies or series from this? Im an old school street fighter fan and didnt know there were animations that i havent seen?
Please give me the names of the movie or series?
Thanks
Shaheen Matthews These are from Street Fight 4 game but if you want to watch SF Movies search Juri Han OVA, Street Fighter: The ties that bind, Street fighter two animated, and Street Fighter Alpha Movie. If you want the rest go to Google and search Street Fighter Movies.
It's interesting. Bison in this game was basically the main protag, and the one with the most ground covered by the end of the story. He had regained all of his influence, apparently regained a large chunk of his strength as well as whatever he took from Rose's soul, and got rid of the pretenders which plagued him - and he did it not with an army of minions, but with his own hands.
not bad i actuly like it thanks

Chef: What the.....?! OH MY GOD!!!!!
This video doesn't include Evil Ryu, Oni or Dan's USF4 intro. I think Evil Ryu & Oni are non-canon, but why exclude that Dan intro?
OK apparently it's with the endings. Would've liked to see the what-if scenarios tagged onto the ending video though, also including the seth & poison endings
@@jalapenoofjustice4682 The videos are long enough already, sorry.
