The Lin Kuei in this timrlon3 are laughably pathetic, they have failed to gain notable WIns that advance them at every turn. Netherealm is just making new conflicts with no twists everytime an antagonist is encountered they are defeated its absolutely pathetic.

I can see some logic in that. Shang Tsung clearly stated that he crafted his entire time-line to follow his will, meanwhile Havik's time-line had more "freedom". Also in the main story ending, Liu Kang seems a little surprised when Shang Tsung's time-line started to break, maybe he didn't know then that killing the titan would end the time-line

1. The Johnnys probably had acknowledged each other off camera by that point. 2. His copies might have been scattered around the Ying Valley. If they weren't on camera, it's probable that they all really vanished due to them being extensions of the og Titan Havik and not organic beings but artificial ones. 3. That point I will give to you, but I guess nobody guarded Geras because everyone was very inmersed on the Khaos maze games to care abt anything else. If so, that is indeed a lame excuse. 4. Another good point. We see everyone retrieve Geras and the Kamidogus from Havik's timeline to also restore Bi Han's mind. How did Havik acquire the Kamidogus again is beyond me too. 5. That was done in bad taste as well. Didn't like that scene. 6. Smoke was mostly probably in charge of the Shirai Ryu while Scorpion was away. I believe both he and Harumi were left behind so Scorpion could go.

So basically: - No one helped Geras during the fight, till he was mid way into the portal - They sent 3 people because they're meant for "infiltration", then they literally started a fight the minute they arrived in the middle of a marketplace. - Havik is a Titan but couldn't teleport directly into his own Citadel. - Scorpion lost all his fights here. - Somehow Noob has powers that are nothing like what Havik has or has given everyone else. - They decided to heal Noob and keep the Kamidogu far from the Temple of the Elements instead of next to it. - Raiden decided not to take the Kamidogu himself into the Temple even when knowing another Titan was coming for it. - The temple of the elements is easily infiltrated. - Sektor immediately frees Noob instead of wondering why would he be kept there. - Johnatan was just there.
- the most powerful hydromant in the series and a combat suit armored with missiles cannot do anything with a metal door other than pick a lock (IRL water cuts steal easily btw) - Tanya suddenly becomes a telepath out of nowhere because writers couldn't come up with a better way to escape the Maze - Meanwhile a stronger and more experienced telepath cannot stop her interaction with the dragon because the plot demands it - Liu Kang is so massively nerfed as a god that casting a small firewall is considered an amazing feat for him, while his fireballs can be blocked easily even by non-gods. I miss the old Raiden destroying entire armies

I can't believe they actually said "let's end the cycle of violence" in a Mortal Kombat game. Liu are you f**king high? YOU made the tournament with Outworld still, and you even won had Raiden win it.
Right? When they reset the universe my first thought was "well, great. Now they can streamline everything, get rid of everything that didn't work out before, try new things that wouldn't have worked back in 1992..." But their decision for the first game of the new timeline had to be multiverse bs that not only complicates everything but also makes the whole reset feel almost irrelevant. "Here, take this shiny New Era that is totally better and more interesting than everything that came before... but also, it's only one of infinite timelines. We did it like this, but we could've done like that, or that, or that..." It doesn't feel special anymore.

I’m sorry but the writing is mad terrible… In the span of 1 hour you practically have Havik, The Cleric of Chaos, shows up randomly out of nowhere, invites you to his reality show Liu Kang’s mercy is also annoying as Raiden’s consult with the elder gods bullcrap, like fine, don’t kill…but you literally know of their threats when given dark magics and you lock them in places where even bi-Han and sektor can just bust them out. Mileena and Kitana would not trust Liu Kang at all after this, dude keep asking for them to be spared…we literally have Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Shao, Ermac, Noob, Sektor and I bet soon too Titan Havik, just out there nuking the world because Liu Kang couldn’t just banish them somewhere mortals couldn’t reach. They also wrote Bi-Han like a fucking kid! Sure he’s power hungry but we know he can wait and plot, he’s not that dumb. Here we just have the dude push his brother out of so he can 1v2 and then attempts to solo a god.

Agreed, this story was incredibly rushed. The timeline stuff in the initial release was already incredibly convoluted, corny, and jumped the shark. I thought the whole variants of different timelines was really dumb to begin with. But Titan Havik at the end of part I made me hyped and thought maybe they'd do something even way cooler than the initial story. I was wrong, it was just barely an hour of a Havik gladiator battle Royale and rescuing Geras. I thought he was going to bend all reality and like do this massive multiverse war or something. The scope of it all was so small. The only thing they improved on was making the variants of the characters less of a joke (Stung Lao/ Chill Chi etc), I thought Empress Tanya and Emperor Rain were better versions of the original. But other than that it was really lacking and kind boring.

Like the pyramid fights with the variants to get to Titan Shang Tsung and Quan Chi all had cheeky joke names. Maybe it’s just nitpicking and I know MK has always had inside jokes and been cheeky at times but the campaign and canon story line is suppose to be mostly serious when it comes to the adversaries. Throwaway joke characters like Stung Lao made me think the ending of the story mode wasn’t serious nor that the stakes were high

It's all the kids who did their homework but had no real creativity. They got the job, but at what cost? It's exactly what a person who was only familiar with Saturday morning cartoons would make after they grew up to write shitty game stories for a living.
NR has always been shitty at telling stories. They have nice concepts that other games took and made better. But it’s usually just the game I look at for the new fatals and what old cameos they throw in the story. As thats all it use to be anyways.

No they don't, the animation is the worst I've seen in a AAA game, they look like each individual character has their own separate framerate from the cutscene.

Cyrax on the other hand has more sense in her/(him) (depending on the timeline because Cyrax and Sektor were both men in prior timelines) than Sektor does even though she/(he) was misguided and misunderstood at the hands of Bi Han. (God all this talk about their gender in two different timelines, I think Cyrax and Sektor are in a way officially considered agender now)
Well given a character by itself for dlc is 8usd and it's 6 characters, you technically would have only paid 2$ for the remaining things you get with the dlc.
That's why people are just watching the cinematics online. I personally can live without playing the game, and I think a lot of other people feel the same way. The game is a huge microtransaction slap in the face anyway, which is more insulting being that it's a fully priced retail game. If they wanted to lock QoL content behind a paywall, then they needed to make the game free to play, but charging full retail price and then nickel and dimming people on top of it is just plain scummy. I'm cool with keeping my money in my pocket and just treating MK games like they're a movie series from now on.

The Lin Kuei is a Warrior Clan of Assassins. They are not Ninjas. This is a common misconception for almost all of the Mortal Kombat palette swaps because of their appearance, and community given nicknames as "Ninjas".
Actually that might not be true. Yes Lin Kuei is Chinese but Karate found in Japan as reference from Chinese Kung fu in real life even Kung fu was limited in China. There was a Chinese ninja clan called Lin Kuei in real life. There was a book written in 80s, years before Mortal Kombat.. Search Google as "Lin Kuei book".. So they are ninjas, but China based..
The MCU did real damage with bringing the Multiverse into reality. Now everything has to introduce the multiverse. Done right in the comics, but has done damage to everything else. MK needs to focus more on the realms. This could’ve been about Chaosrealm trying to takeover and Orderrealm (Hotaru fan here) could’ve been introduced

I just finished watching the whole thing* and yeah it was mid as hell. Shang tsung did way more than this. I was expecting anything at any moment during the cutscenes, maybe khaos kintaro and goro, but no, just the dragon from Shrek 1. Nah man this is weak af.
Happy to see Bi-Han get some love as a villain. Guy is supposed to be lore-wise one of the strongest fighters due to his victories against Fujin and Shinnok. The Netherrealm timeline made him a jobber that didn't match his reputation. Here he is a legitimate badass, his Noob Saibot form is stronger than his identity as Sub-Zero, and he is the one who defeats Havik. A satisfying transition into a villain compared to the previous timelines.
Theres precedence for bi han being strong in the old timeline……. But i gotta agree they didnt really build him up as the dude to defeat havik at ALLL . Very unsatisfying

Disapppointing doesn’t even begin to describe this… specially after X and 11. As though the initial story wasn’t silly enough, they had to go and rush the follow up all the way to hell creating more contrivances in it than every timeline before it. Truly a sad and sorry missed opportunity. While the General Shao plot line yet offers a rare opportunity to resolve things going forward, Titan Havik could have been special but was instead reduced to a poor man’s Shinnok.

It was already recipe for disaster when.....Onaga gotten his own timeline. Shang Tsung, possibly Shao Kahn, and the likes of other kombatants who have become Titans. Liu Kang didn't become a Titan and made Geras the Guardian of Time in his own timeline and making Hanzo a kid..... Titan Havok's invasion has already been forecoming in the first main story ending. Had things were like in Mortal Kombat Onslaught storyline, everything would have been back to normal without Kronika's interfering or Shao Kahn winning the Battle of Armageddon in the original timeline..

You don't speak for everyone at ALL. The multiverse stuff has been done very well and creatively in these games and it definitely was it. That's a you problem having it somehow hinder you from being invested in any characters.
I do agree how they handled the multiverse is not well, It would be possible for the other MK11 roster (outside Shang Tsung or Liu Kang) to have their own timelines (a stretch btw) cause they are there in the hour glass fight but anything out side that does not make sense for me lore wise. Havik was not there in the final fight and during Kronika era there is only one timeline being repeated over and over again. The enemy titans should have been other than Shang Tsung is Shao Khan, Melena, Cetrion, maybe even Frost. I wish they would publish another Havik comic to show how he became a Titan
For me the problem is that there's an infinite amount of copies of each character (except maybe noob saibot) It makes it feel meaningless when something happens to them

The writing is all over the place. Theyre clearly taking too much inspiration from Marvel at a time when people are tired of the Marvel Formula. Also, theres many times when the dialogue comes off as pointless and clunky. Idk, this just feels so rushed and uninspired

I can see some logic in that. Shang Tsung clearly stated that he crafted his entire time-line to follow his will, meanwhile Havik's time-line had more "freedom". Also in the main story ending, Liu Kang seems a little surprised when Shang Tsung's time-line started to break, maybe he didn't know then that killing the titan would end the time-line

1. The Johnnys probably had acknowledged each other off camera by that point.
2. His copies might have been scattered around the Ying Valley. If they weren't on camera, it's probable that they all really vanished due to them being extensions of the og Titan Havik and not organic beings but artificial ones.
3. That point I will give to you, but I guess nobody guarded Geras because everyone was very inmersed on the Khaos maze games to care abt anything else. If so, that is indeed a lame excuse.
4. Another good point. We see everyone retrieve Geras and the Kamidogus from Havik's timeline to also restore Bi Han's mind. How did Havik acquire the Kamidogus again is beyond me too.

I miss when MK's games experimented with stuff, like Shaolin Monks. It probably wasn't the best MK game, but it was a nice break from the 2d formula, and gives a good take on the original game.
So basically:
- No one helped Geras during the fight, till he was mid way into the portal
- They sent 3 people because they're meant for "infiltration", then they literally started a fight the minute they arrived in the middle of a marketplace.
- Havik is a Titan but couldn't teleport directly into his own Citadel.
- Scorpion lost all his fights here.
- Somehow Noob has powers that are nothing like what Havik has or has given everyone else.
- They decided to heal Noob and keep the Kamidogu far from the Temple of the Elements instead of next to it.
- Raiden decided not to take the Kamidogu himself into the Temple even when knowing another Titan was coming for it.
- The temple of the elements is easily infiltrated.
- Sektor immediately frees Noob instead of wondering why would he be kept there.
- Johnatan was just there.
- the most powerful hydromant in the series and a combat suit armored with missiles cannot do anything with a metal door other than pick a lock (IRL water cuts steal easily btw)
- Tanya suddenly becomes a telepath out of nowhere because writers couldn't come up with a better way to escape the Maze
- Meanwhile a stronger and more experienced telepath cannot stop her interaction with the dragon because the plot demands it
- Liu Kang is so massively nerfed as a god that casting a small firewall is considered an amazing feat for him, while his fireballs can be blocked easily even by non-gods. I miss the old Raiden destroying entire armies
"- Havik is a Titan but couldn't teleport directly into his own Citadel." it's my main complaint. Like, he could teleport into Mileena empress room with no information, but can't teleport into his citadel? Orin could do this.

What a disappointment, it is insane this was 60 dollars. They could compensate their laziness by releasing another part of this DLC for the "unknown" Shao Khan rebellion. Too overhyped, no content.
Agreed, this story was incredibly rushed. The timeline stuff in the initial release was already incredibly convoluted, corny, and jumped the shark. I thought the whole variants of different timelines was really dumb to begin with. But Titan Havik at the end of part I made me hyped and thought maybe they'd do something even way cooler than the initial story. I was wrong, it was just barely an hour of a Havik gladiator battle Royale and rescuing Geras. I thought he was going to bend all reality and like do this massive multiverse war or something. The scope of it all was so small. The only thing they improved on was making the variants of the characters less of a joke (Stung Lao/ Chill Chi etc), I thought Empress Tanya and Emperor Rain were better versions of the original. But other than that it was really lacking and kind boring.

@@beambooi6431 the timelines junk was kind of interesting in the idea of making your own mk characters where you can mix the combos and special moves around and mix and match the cosmetics like the Lego games did and allow a make your own fighter game mode where some characters are probably gonna be more broken than others, unless they really went all out on it

Like the pyramid fights with the variants to get to Titan Shang Tsung and Quan Chi all had cheeky joke names. Maybe it’s just nitpicking and I know MK has always had inside jokes and been cheeky at times but the campaign and canon story line is suppose to be mostly serious when it comes to the adversaries. Throwaway joke characters like Stung Lao made me think the ending of the story mode wasn’t serious nor that the stakes were high

That's why people are just watching the cinematics online. I personally can live without playing the game, and I think a lot of other people feel the same way. The game is a huge microtransaction slap in the face anyway, which is more insulting being that it's a fully priced retail game. If they wanted to lock QoL content behind a paywall, then they needed to make the game free to play, but charging full retail price and then nickel and dimming people on top of it is just plain scummy. I'm cool with keeping my money in my pocket and just treating MK games like they're a movie series from now on.

Happy to see Bi-Han get some love as a villain. Guy is supposed to be lore-wise one of the strongest fighters due to his victories against Fujin and Shinnok. The Netherrealm timeline made him a jobber that didn't match his reputation. Here he is a legitimate badass, his Noob Saibot form is stronger than his identity as Sub-Zero, and he is the one who defeats Havik. A satisfying transition into a villain compared to the previous timelines.

As though the initial story wasn’t silly enough, they had to go and rush the follow up all the way to hell creating more contrivances in it than every timeline before it. Truly a sad and sorry missed opportunity. While the General Shao plot line yet offers a rare opportunity to resolve things going forward, Titan Havik could have been special but was instead reduced to a poor man’s Shinnok.

His vision is basically a recipe for disaster in a MK Story even If most events that happen were entertaining in this new era so far
It was already recipe for disaster when.....Onaga gotten his own timeline. Shang Tsung, possibly Shao Kahn, and the likes of other kombatants who have become Titans. Liu Kang didn't become a Titan and made Geras the Guardian of Time in his own timeline and making Hanzo a kid..... Titan Havok's invasion has already been forecoming in the first main story ending. Had things were like in Mortal Kombat Onslaught storyline, everything would have been back to normal without Kronika's interfering or Shao Kahn winning the Battle of Armageddon in the original timeline..

I do agree how they handled the multiverse is not well, It would be possible for the other MK11 roster (outside Shang Tsung or Liu Kang) to have their own timelines (a stretch btw) cause they are there in the hour glass fight but anything out side that does not make sense for me lore wise. Havik was not there in the final fight and during Kronika era there is only one timeline being repeated over and over again. The enemy titans should have been other than Shang Tsung is Shao Khan, Melena, Cetrion, maybe even Frost. I wish they would publish another Havik comic to show how he became a Titan
For me the problem is that there's an infinite amount of copies of each character (except maybe noob saibot) It makes it feel meaningless when something happens to them

What did you expect? Sonya was able to beat Geras in MK11. Meanwhile, Shang Tsung, Night Wolf, Fujin, all three deemed as very strong characters in the MK verse, couldn’t beat him even when they were doing a 3v1.

Idek I only brought mk11 for spawn dlc because I hated the slowed gameplay compared to mk9 shit the last storyline I completed was MK10 when the power of family beat shinnok after that I checked out fr. I didn’t even watch the story for mk1 I was hoping things changed with the potential of chaos havik. Now I feel lik a fool I almost brought the game

Also its not like he got a chance, right after he brang the amulet back, the tournament started and he died.
@@raptormage2209 That is a retcon, the ending said he was pay by a wealthy enemy of tsung while in mythologies he is invited by tsung himself.
So there isnt much sync between the two.

Even if we didnt get him as playable, seeing him as a Kameo and perhaps him being one of the main protagonists along side Liu and the rest would have been way better.

I still strongly believed they did MK1 dirty . I like the story but I think it would have been better if we got to see the great kung Lao and his allies. All new characters and the first MK tournament 🏟️ finally witnessed.
Guys if your planning on buying this game, i would highly suggest waiting a year or 2.
Mk11 and all of its dlc got as low as 7 dollars once.
Mkx even more cheap an for some more fun
