The actor playing the priest has good comedic instincts! His delivery his hilarious!
Seinfeld's extras are always great actors. Some of them might only have one scene but their delivery would be flawless.
He was brought back to counsel Elaine and Puddy over her concerns about his lack of concern about her going to hell, and his feeling that she's too bossy.

When Jerry sat down on the kneeler...pure comedic genius! There have been some really good sitcoms past and present but nothing has or will beat Seinfeld.

Notice how the sign next to the church at the very beginning says “st. Luke’s Lutheran church” despite FATHER Curtis being catholic. Very poor editing

I find "No, it offends me as a comedian!" one of funniest lines in Seinfeld, with that great two-line set up: "I have a suspicion he converted to Judaism solely for the jokes," followed by "And, this offends you as a Jew?"

One of the funniest, most clever scenes in this show’s history.
I wonder why the video was shortened. Jerry's knocking on the confessional wall is missing, which was extremely funny. And the priest's line ”That's funny!” after "Newer magazines".

The joke is that dentist offices are notorious for having very dated magazines (some several years old, even), while the average person tosses out maganizes and replaces them with new ones within a month or two. So the joke is that the only difference between a dentist and sadist is that one has extremely dated maganizes while the other doesn't.

I still don't get how Seinfeld is offended by his dentist as a comedian? Big Whoop about it, If he had truly said it offends him as a Jewish then i would understand that. Still Seinfield should be given a head slap for offending the priest with that Dentist and sadist joke.

Seinfeld also should not have been upset about Puddy using his move, dating a girl Newman previously dated (and dumped), his Pony remark, getting a gift that has been re-gifted, whether his girlfriend's breasts are real or not, his date not taking a bite of his apple pie, and so on, and so on.
You would not have a show without Jerry getting upset about anything.
Better three years late to this than never! Jerry once said that a big key to his humour was to get a few laughs during the telling, but that the end of a part-scene or joke had to have the biggest laugh. One way that he did it was to give a completely unexpected and funny punch line, or twist. The "No, it offends me as a comedian!" response is just that.
That was NOT a funny joke. At least I didn't find it funny.
