That has to be the most perfect line to come up with when getting dumped, "oh that's ok Ill meet someone else… it's been nice dating you."
Thomas Beaudry that's actually how mine usually sound! ha ha "OK! You're the one that's missing out! Not me!" lol
+Jay Mills Seinfeld's response is superior to yours because it displays absolutely no bitterness.
i would be the same way!
I'm not
yours is bitter, jerrys is nice.
After seeing Jason Alexander's audition, Larry David said:
HIRE THIS MAN😂😂
Jason Alexander is hands down the most skilled actor on the show.
Hasan A. Kramer excellent as well.
Hands down?? That's a bit of a
S-t--r--e--t--c--h. Elaine is awesome also.
Yes, his "acting without acting" is masterful.
They struck gold with all actors. Very skilled and extremely funny.
He was on Broadway before Seinfeld. Him and Jerry Stiller
George " I got fired for having sex with the cleaning woman"
Interviewer : " Go on..."
LMAO
Honesty goes a long way I guess lol
Id be pretty interested in whatever a guy had to say next if I was interviewing him and he said that
Was that wrong? I tell ya, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing
"I didn't know it was frowned upon here" 😂😂😂
One thing I never really noticed through all these years is how dressed down George is for a job interview. Definitely fits with the concept of "The Opposite."
Instead of shirt and blazer, t-shirt and raincoat
Except when he had that suit that went whoosh
Also super wrinkled clothes 😂
The Watch

2:37 - Jerry stirs coffee: watch.
It'll be coming 'round the mountain when it comes...

Hire this man.
“Hire this man!”
He knows a straight shooter when he sees one.
Well he got that one dead wrong
@@blakemortellaro He's too senile to care.
I was very confused I guess people love confidence regardless of what was said
@@nesdes8363 Or he is thinking, "alright! finally someone with the guts to offer constructive criticism".
That Jerry Breakup was so clean , it killed 100% of the germs
This has got to be one of the most honest and brilliant shows ever created.
The way he says good luck to her is such a power move
No-one who's any good at speaking talks about 'power moves'. Just drop it. It's sad.
@@thesprawl2361 No one who`s any good at jumping stops at a fence. Just hop it. It`s rad.
@@PumperKrickel Well, at least you can rhyme, that's a surefire way to attract the ladies
*Should've been 'speaking to women'.
@@thesprawl2361 Almost as good as trying to start a pointless argument in the youtube comments, right? I bet the girls just swoon when you tell them about this in your imagination.
I always loved the little bit at the end where Jerry is singing "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes"...another minor but genius moment in the show about nothing...
Why is that genius? Please elaborate.
@George...the writing was pure genius...if you don't recognize that with elaboration, well I can't help ya dude.
Because he told that woman that he is totally confident that he'll meet another woman.
Just because it's "genius" doesn't make it funny
Hate to mix categories but I had a job once where I didn't really like it, and had found another job already but was waiting a couple of more days to put in my notice and the boss called me and told me he was changing my schedule. I told him I couldn't accept that and he said we're going to have to lay you off. I acted all hurt feelings and told him whatever you have to do, while at the same time laughing my head off at the guy. That job sucked anyway and the new one was WAY better.
When I was younger and up until just a few years ago I use to think Kramer ‘made’ the show and as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that George was actually the best thing about the show
All of them have there moments
@@malachiwarner5699 **THEY'RE moments
@@Soxruleyanksdrool Actually it's their moments. U forgot the period and it's not they're as they are. It's their.
@@Soxruleyanksdrool So there.... I appreciate the correction but get it right if ur gonna be the spelling police.
@malachiwarner5699 Duly noted. I apologize and I hope I didn't offend. Peace.
Jerry’s breakup reaction is exactly how everyone should react when it occurs to them.
absolutely.crazy thing is that as seen here when a woman breaks up with a guy and he takes it in the stride with a smile like Jerry does women do infact get lowkey pissed cos they want the guy to be crying and begging to stay cos thats more power to the womans ego. u can even see the disbelief and saltyness on her in this scene cos they suddenly feel like they never meant anything to the guy since he can just move on so easy. u can even make the woman regret it and have her come back to u after a while when she cant stop obsess over the strong confident move showed by a guy who does that. A bluepilled move by Jerry here ;D
@@enednas801 All one needs to do is when they sense it or the 'talk' takes place, just get up, turn and walk away, don't look back, don't call, don't text, say nothing. Emotion is what destroys, intelligence is what wins every time. Guaranteed you will hear from the person again and then you are in the drivers seat, if you don't hear from them then they were not worth it and you made the right decision to walk away..
@@TimTheMusicMan my thought also, emotions are fleeting, intelligence are solid and can be trusted😎
Would be a good line after getting fired too.
"Oh that's Ok, I'll get a job somewhere else. It's been nice working here"
If I ever do get fired from a place I'll use that line, and then proceed to break into song, singing "She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes" as I walk out the door.
Hate to make this political, but when Trump loses his job as President, his final tweet should be:
"It's been nice being your president for a bit. I've had a lot of fun but I understand your decision. Good Luck with everything! #shellbecominaroundthemountain"
BlueJay88 of you hate make it political then you would not have made it political. Admit it, you love making it political, you absolutely love it. (Seinfeld voice).
I can't get fired...(George voice)
I dunno- a job and a relationship are way different. Kinda hard to hurt a job by not caring- that’s kinda the default.
Also- I hate to make this political, but it doesn’t look like a certain president has been fired or anything yet lol.
Well, this show is absolutely the greatest.
Nothing comes close
Indeed!
What about Friends? Ha! Ha! Yuck! Yuck! Schnark...
At a job interview I did something similar and got the job. I was completely under qualified and didn’t think I had a snowballs chance in hell of getting it. Thinking about it now I realize I have a lot in common with George.
I remember you...you're that guy we hired. The one who burned down the building while trying to microwave a breakfast burrito.
I've never done this myself, but someone I knew who was getting pressured by the unemployment office to find a job deliberately went out of his way to apply for jobs that he knew he wasn't qualified for in any way. He did so with the idea that he could show that he was at least trying to find a job, but they kept turning him down. It worked for a long time. Until it didn't. He finally got a job offer that he was pretty much forced to take, if he didn't want to lose his unemployment pay. He still works at that company to this day, although they did have to bunk him down to a position that was lower on the pay and hours, but more suited to his qualifications.
@@Xylarxcode tbh that's badass
@@mistertheking If you're talking about applying for jobs because the unemployment office forces them to, I feel it's actually really common. People interview who clearly have no interest in the position all the time.
@@howard2liu it's more of a guy who decided to apply for jobs he KNEW he WASN'T going to get, not people applying to jobs they have no interest in

"She'll be comin' round the mountain.." If only my divorse was that easy.
2020 and still the best show, has beaten them all, can never get tired of the re runs.
I actually got a job I didnt want by being honest. I didnt want it, so I was honest about my weak points, they found my honesty and selfreflection refreshing. So I got the job, I said I had to think about it, they threw in 400 a month extra, so I took it.
I think you should look for a job you really want before that job kills your ego.
If you don't want to do this job anymore someday in future, you know what to do to get fired.
Are you still at that job?
That's pretty rare my dude. But congratulations.
BimmerM5e39 not everyone has that luxury
How did I never think of the wardrobe thing???
Are you gay?
Not that there’s anything wrong with it haha
@@amongstthepigeons1020 Hahahahahahaha!
It may not even be true. Many people, both gay and straight, are very possessive about their clothes and wouldn’t want anyone, not even a significant other, to wear them.
I am not gay , but nobody touch my belongings.
Is it just me or does she seem unhappy she didn't ruin jerry's day?
Excactly their goal when they pull that crap off
starcrafter13terran She’s probably upset that Jerry really never cared about her.
starcrafter13terran most of the time, it's what they live for, that kind of response may end up driving them insane....if they aren't already.
She played the part perfectly, attractive but seems like a b*tch. The kind you sleep with for a while then dump. Jerry had the right attitude!

George is actually very brave and comfortable with himself a lot of the time. I find it a bit baffling when he acts like he is a broken man.
Brave in front of his friends but not in real situations lol
"Buzzed up some Jehova witness and they couldn't get them out of the building" 🤣

Kinda funny, isn’t this about the time the Yanks started becoming the best team in the league again?
There's "The Wink" episode from season 7 which ends with George taking another person's position after getting fired. Steinbrenner names all the people getting fired during his tenure. Among them is Buck Showalter, to which Steinbrenner adds, "You didn't hear that from me!" Because Showalter was still manager in 1995 when the particular episode aired. Season 8 was probably when the Yankees won the World Series.

Easily one of my top 3 favorite episodes!!!
That scene gets me a laughing every time for years now.
Jerry = SAVAGE...
He's not the opposite he's just being George lol
Simple yet subtle....
george's job interview is great lol
George Steinbrenner is probably thinking, "finally, someone with the guts to give me constructive criticism and not just tell me what they think I want to hear."
She'll be comin' round the moutain
I should honestly apply for a job just to troll at the interview. Hahahahah.
I want to become as carefree, successful and jolly as Jerry but I suspect deep down I am a George. Not the opposite one though...
Like a boss
"the opposite" episode ❤️
02:42 wish I was that confident haha
You doubled your wardrobe 😂
Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?
Personal bathroom use ia always a deal breaker.
Summed up perfectly
That's the principal in "The Breakfast Club"
Also the police chief in Die Hard
This episode was top-ten for me
It's a good and subtle way to show that being honest at a job interview never works. It's as if you were expected to lie.
I really miss this kind of sitcoms. With all the sad news of the coronavirus nowadays, it's good to have a good laugh to keep myself sane
THE ABSOLUTE CAST IRON BALLS ON MR SEINFELD
The best way handling getting dumped I have ever seen. I will remember that!

It works to a point. You have to know when to quit.

I want to meet someone to just breakup like this. lol.
that right there was my first ever Seinfeld episode. before i even knew that they are big. Things always even out - that's what has stuck with me for 25 years :-)
