Third time trying to reply to this post, Y-T wont post my response. If you are really interested in the ARC, watch Hornady's Thursday nite podcasts. They give a good rundown on the history of the development of the round. The 22 Coyote. Looking for 22-250 ballistics from the AR 15 platform. Then working on a V-Max type bullet with long for caliber high BC target performance. Necked down a cartridge that already fit in a AR15 mag-- that held +/- 8gr more powder than the 223/5.56 and stayed below the 52,000PSI limit on the AR15 platform, and pushed the 62gr ELD-VT to something like 3,400 FPS. To me, it's a AR round. I have not looked into the PSI limit for a bolt gun, but there are rounds out there that will hold a lot more than 34gr of powder. But on the other hand, what the hell. The worst you will do is have fun.
Thankyou for the persistence in response! It's certainly an interesting round, in the hilly wooded terrain here it's pretty rare for anything more than a 350-400 yard shot so the bigger rounds don't have much real advantage. But thankyou for your input it's much appreciated.
@@jazzflounder67 Right, but the rifle has to be capable of living up to the marksman and ARs aren't usually quite that good. That rifle appears be shooting well under MOA and ARs that can do that are not that common. That one might just be a real gem.
@@cavedweller1959 That's kinda hard to believe, that 350 yard shot was dead nuts on a prairie dog so it was either luck or 1/2 minute accuracy. I custom built a 20" AR with Aero Precision upper/lower and a Faxon Match Series barrel that gives me 3/4 MOA. I'm gonna work up a load with the new Hornady 62gr ELD-VTs to see if I can better it but a 350 yard shot on a p-diddy with an AR is still one hell of a shot.
l hope you enjoyed your trip thanks for the ride along
nice to see you put this on YT, I am used to having to go to patreon to see the good stuff :)
Those quick follow up shots are money! I built a 20P AR, hardley moves, cant wait to try it out in the fields. E
Whose barrel did you use, or did you make your own?

@@jazzflounder67 Thanks, I'll check them out!

How fast those bullets moving?
What bullets?
Hornady factory, 62gr ELD-VT
That's damned good accuracy for an AR.
@@CplSkiUSMC that guy behind the trigger is pretty good also. E

This is the least accurate AR that I own. All others are Rock River barrels.
