Just taken your advice and watched one of Rick's videos. A ride out to Matlock which is one of my old haunts. Back in the day venturing there on a scooter was interesting and often resulted in a public order offence! It was a haven for rockers back then and they didn't like people turning up on hair driers! 😄
With my rear brake I put masking tape on the shoes to find high spots then filed them off. The brake design is very basic but works well enough. I'm now waiting for my reed conversion to clear Spanish customs so I can get my engine back together. Could be a long wait, nothing happens quickly over here.
Talking about grease and brake shoes. When I bought my Serveta last year it came with a brand new ITV. When I took the engine apart I found the rear seal had blown and the shoes were covered in oil!
Definitely. It's quite expensive for what it is and although it takes off the high spots, we won't know how well it works before we get the scooter out on the road.
That skimming good looks hard work and not very accurate compared to the original type , as you know it's not just about removing a high spot it's about making sure both shoes expand out equally and touch the hub at the same time . I have used an old hub with Emery paper glued in as a shoe skimmer for 35 years and costs nothing Great informative video though
You can find the loose translation here. I say loose because they sing in local northern Norwegian slang. www.google.com/search?q=majesteten+sn%C3%B6+lyrics&oq=Sn%C3%B6+-+Majesteten&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i22i30j69i61.2700j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

A nice tool for the brakes, something to look forward to when I get to work on mine. Keep the videos coming and Thank You for sharing.
The tool does nothing more than a piece of sandpaper would do and for a hundredth of the price 😂

That's pretty normal.

Problem here is that method would cost the owner a spare octipus hub.
