Daniel is a genius. I have a lot of respect for his music, his music inspires me a lot.
These songs touch me, not in a sexual-way of understatement, but a chair-moving way.
6:47 I like how he's just hitting a key on his computer keyboard for percussion.
Spitfire Audio (a sample library company) actually released a sample library called Media Toolkit and one of the instruments is literally a computer keyboard. I assume the purpose was, similarly, to be used as percussion.
It turns out, C418 actually brings attention to the unique choice of percussion on his website. I recommend reading his song descriptions cuz the song title choices start to make more sense.
"'surface pension' is the main theme of the hard and often unnoticed job of working developers. If you pay attention you can hear them clicking away on their keyboards."
- C418
From every artist I've ever discovered and admired in all 14 (almost 15) years of my life, I can definitely say C418 is the most unique and special of the bunch. You can immediately tell within the first few seconds of a song that C418 made it. He has a musical signature that's embedded in the music. I hope more people can admire this man's talent.
I wish he would re release old stuff like when he was still posting things on Newgrounds
Y’all the person just likes the music, there’s a difference between thinking the music is unique and thinking it has a deep message.
I’m 14 and this is deep. Stop thinking 14 is a lot especially since only 5 of that was on the internet 😂

@@band4lyfe i just realized why didnt you just opy paste the description
one is the official soundtrack to Minecraft: A Story of Mojang, which was a documentary about the development of Minecraft when things were still innocent and young.
- C418
he should score a film, i would watch just to hear his music.
an oval is a specific type of circle.
just like how an isosceles is a triangle but a triangle isn't always isosceles.
This album has a structure that makes it feel like one long story, just like, in my opinion some of his other albums line "Life changing moments seem minor in pictures" and maybe "Dief". However, I find this One, despite the many pretty cheerful tracks, hiddenly very melancholic as if it was trying to tell a long story that has many sad moments and a general gloomy ambience in which there are blended periods with happiness. Eventually everything seems to end at least mostly happily, however, still leaving some traces of the past melancholy in mind.
In my mind, it is these things which make happy music. If a song does not address my feelings of sadness then it's not happy for me because I can't relate to it. It is because of this, perhaps, that I find a melancholy album like this one to be intensely happy, whereas a bubbly album is just boring and emotionally vacant.
I'm not going to lie, I like bubbly, happy music. It''s energetic. But I like this kind of music because it calms down the mind. It gives me time to think. Time to reflect. Time to try to change. It's motivating in the sense that it gives you a creative feeling, a feeling that it was time to start anew.
Well, this track was used for a Minecraft documentary about the story and development of Minecraft.
Most of his albums are made to be listened to in one sitting. In the Minecraft tracks, he added more songs that weren't in-game into the soundtracks to give people a reason to buy a copy, but also to give the tracks better flow. Also studies show that songs you hear multiple times are liked more. That is what this track is based off of. That's why there are the same songs playing on the radio now.
I mean Fifflas exist here. I have no idea how to interpret it even though I've listened to it multiple times.
This is the sound of sleep deprivation.
I like it.
doesn't make any sense... this helps me sleep (c418 music and oither soft music)
Mhm, it says "I'm so very tired, but enjoy doing this." so heavily that it makes listeners want to sleep as well.
X'D OMG, that's true. It's 12:00 in the afternoon right now, and my eyes are dry af right now.
I always feel this sense of bliss passing over me when I listen to C418. This album in particular gives me this feeling as if I were living in a city in the sky. You could almost feel a clouds' cooling mist brush over you, as the city floats by...
I had to revise my response, because I think I was on cloud 9 listening intently to the tracks...
For me, this album is like a journey.
It starts with happy and adventurous songs (until Certitudes).
Then it drops, giving this not quite sadness feeling. Melancholy, maybe?
The songs are all similar, and get more complex or develop as they go on, symbolizing the learning progress.
The last song is the perfect clousure to the album: whatever happens, you'll always find the way to overcome your problems.
I hope you can undertsand what I'm saying by listening to it.
This is one of the first albums I have actually bought as apposed to torrenting it. It's gorgeous and deserves it
+Prof. Killionare Someone generously got me the Minecraft documentary and this album in physical release a couple Christmases ago.
And it is just glorious holding this album in my hands.
Excursions was my first to actually buy, followed closely by Close to the Edge by Yes, Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson, and Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix.
no words can describe how happy I am to have found C418.
I stumbled across this when I was searching You Tube for picture discs.
This Mine Craft disc came up, then I started listening to other stuff & found this album.

c418 is so underrated honestly
naa he got mad respect, every one knows that his songs have special place in our heart
@@one1drboy9472 I mean if its anything Minecraft yea. But his other tracks are not that well recognized.
is music addiction unhealthy? Because that's about 25th time am listening to this album...
***** Yep, it's unhealthy. But, you know what I say? WHO GIVES A SHIT! If you like doing something, so long as it's not like cutting yourself or something like that, DO IT ANYWAYS! FUCK DOCTORS AND THEIR"What's healthy? Nothing!" B.S., THEY SUCK ANYWAYS!
music addiction is very real, brain patterns when listening to music is similar to the patterns the brain creates while on drugs. it is unhealthy if it affects how you operate, example: at school not allowed to listen to music during class but you cant help it and listen any ways, ending in trouble. some times the brain relys on music to cheer it self up, this is bad. but anyways...
tldr listen to music in moderation.
One of my favorite pieces!
Also I hear Minecraft doors being closed and opened when I have my headphones in the piece The First Million. Does anyone else hear it?
Firestar Gaming i hear the walking through the sand, heading to a nearby village ready to steal villagers wheats and sell it back to them
hOLY MOLYYY THAT'S MINECRAFT NOTE BLOCK AND A BUTTON- AAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I LOVE THIS ONE- pwp
This seriously so freakin' beautiful. I write to this, it truly gets me inspired after listening to this! It's almost as if this song is one long story!
Wow, I'm 5 years late to the party lol
I recently discovered this, and write to it as well
(Just marking my place for my next visit )

Haha, how dare you stop there... I listened to the whole thing at once! :D
Cliffside Hinson, Drunken Carboni, Surface Pension, Independent Accident... these are just a few among the many tracks in the album that remind me how meaningful music can be. Bravo to Daniel for making such a kickass album.

Really love the fact that Laura Shigihara is in Tsuki no Koibumi . She’s one of my favorite composers ever, she’s in a good chunk of everything music-related I like
A piece of music doesn't need lyrics to make you feel.
omg i just LUV *Certitudes* it just hits me in the feels.
its beautiful
Same! It's actually the first song that really got my attention in this album
I listened to this album so much around 8 years ago. I remember every song, but the tones of each note leave an impression anew. It's like I'm listening to this beauty for the first time.
I feel like I'm on the other end for when people say that they wish they could forget, so they can experience the magic again. It's like that here.
this album makes me so peaceful and makes me feel that someday my life wont be so terrible and ill be happy :)
I find each of C418's albums to be a journey; through lush, weird, and spectacular worlds. This one in particular always gets me. I like a variety of artists, experimental or otherwise; but Rosenfeld's music is always something to come back to, and a joy every time.
You really know when you are listening to good music if every single time you listen it gets better and better. :)
I think in truth that proves that you are good giving to the song a meaning.
1:00:11 "This Doesn't Work" is my favorite on the album. It's really grown on me, and it's such a fun song! It's also a one-off, not really fitting in its place in the album, but it's a pleasant surprise with a totally unique sound.
no ONE can hate this man
Once the universe is barren and dead, it would be great if his continued to play in it.
A perfect album to listen during new year.Happy New Year, everyone.
@@elynox1730 glad to see my 5 y/o comment is still gaining traction lol, happy new year to you too.
I did not expect vocals at the last song, gave me chills when I heard it.
listening to this album feels like reliving a memory from my childhood. not one that shaped my life or was necessarily exciting, just a quiet moment where i felt content, at peace with myself and the world. fleeting but immortalized
About a third of the way through the album and why didn’t anyone tell me certitudes was an absolute bop
It's so amazing how he plays around with just a few musical motifs throughout the whole album!
omfg love this guy
perfection in sound
Whenever I listen to Lawyer cage fight, I imagine a bunch of suited men in a ring punching each other, with the song playing over it
I think my favorite track off of this album is Tsuki No Koibumi because it's a wonderful little collab between C418, and Laura Shigihara, the composer for plants VS. Zombies, and To The Moon!
Beautiful. Especially independent accident, it sounds like an adventure taking place that ends in an ultimate sacrifice for the greater good.
tsuki no koibumi is a song i listen to a lot on my own and getting to it on this made me feel really accomplished - this entire album is incredible
_certitudes_ and _lost_ _cousins_ always tug at my heart...
20:37 & 37:41
It's so amazing how he managed to show us through his life and how his work at Mojang impacted him, all through his music.
it changed my life...
best music in every game
C418 is a composing genius just saying
Aged like the finest wine.
Beautiful
sounds like a soundtrack of a blocky game from an alternate universe...
When I was 16, I would listen to this album on the walk home from school
I’m 23 now, and I’m sitting here reminiscing and crying wondering where the years went. My life has changed so much.
@@Jumperbumper247 I try telling myself that every time I feel this way. Although it makes me sad given I’d do it all differently
@@eric.waffles Our progression our output and outcome are all made from thoughts. We are made up of thoughts. If you cant forgive yourself for not being able to change the past mistakes a portion of yourself is gonna only hate yourself. which will break you dwon mentally, and physically and one day youll be finding yourself hovering over a kitchen sink with blood in the sink with a box cutter in your hand and cut mark marks on your neck wondering if you cut deeper cuz you dont want to forgive yourself. Because I went through that. Its easy to find things to loathe about yourself but you try to find things you love about yourself and say why you love yourself because of those reasons and keep finding and making reasons. Eventually you'll become more happier, and make others happier too.
@@zyoh4311 Thank you for sharing your story. I'm definitely trying to stop struggling with my past. I'm making progress but I'm only halfway there.
All these would fit minecraft
As much as I like these songs, I think they stand better alone, not in Minecraft. They just don't feel the same... (Not in a bad way)
It is so easy to hear the endless beauty and complexity of this music, and it makes me wonder how the cliché-robbing, dubstep-strapping, idiotic twerking pop stars get all the fame. C418 has done far more to deserve their wealth and appreciation.
levin tibax well c418s music is more complex, and something that you probably would not want to really dance to. I guess that's the kids want, something they can dance to and also 420 blaze it at the same time.
different people like different music. I love C418. I also love rap music, as well as techno, dubstep, j-pop, classic rock, indie, and folk. You wanna know what I love most, though? Swing music. Music that your grandparents probs listened to. These are all very different music genres, but they all have some really good songs in each category. Also, some days I'll want to listen to music with little background music and a lot of strong lyrics, and others, I'll just listen to instrumentals. Some days I want to hear songs about crying, and others I wanna jam out to a song about hardcore sex. None of it- lyrics, meanings- none of that matters as long as its not hurting anyone. And you say "C418 has done far more" but how do you know? Songwriters elsewhere have battled through abuse, poverty, sexism, and being shamed for existing. Maybe that songwriter worked months or getting their lyrics right so they could find the right ones to express their feelings. You don't know. I love C418 so much, but saying "X is so much better than Y. Y just sucks!" is not praise, and most artists do not take that as a compliment. Praise doesn't put ANYTHING down. Instead, next time try "C418 makes such cool music. I love how layered the soundtrack is. (song) is my favorite." See? It praises the artist's work without putting anyone down.
Tl;Dr: Just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad. Don't try to make someone feel good by putting someone else down.
margierules Yeah, I kind of agree with you, my opinions have changed since I posted that. I still have the same taste in music, but I realise I was being a bit close-minded and discriminate. I respect other people's taste in music (even if I think they're completely wrong).
This just makes me feel happy...Idk why
This is genius, I should have known it sooner.
I usually listen to C418 when I'm not in a good mood, and It helps a lot. The music is really nice, happy, and different. There isn't much like it.
Wonderful soundtrack for work and programming ^_^
Thanks to The Mc Albums for bringing me to C418's music! I'm in love with this dude's music, not just the Minecraft music.
(14.04.20) still loving it a lot, coming back to listening it always makes me emotional, but I just love this album so much.
I love so much this music, when you are working on a game and you hear "all" this album you got tons of motivation..
Just amazing!
I have to say, this album is my favorite out of all of his!
Coming back to this comment a few years later, for me it's been dethroned by Excursions.
Awesome album.

Why does it feel like i heard this before
the vibe i get from c418's music outside of minecraft is audible abstract art
C418 does make some really beautiful music, I love his work so much
so much freaking feels in Cliffside hinson for no reason
+diego andrade YOU UNDERSTAND ME SO MUCH OH MY GOD! IT'S SO SIMPLE, BUT THIS SONG HITS ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS.

This is like an emotion roller coaster.

C418 - One [full album] : MUSIC INTENSIFIE
I like how in 0:25:52 it kinda sounds like one of the chords from Taswell.
Yeah, Daniel uses a lot of the same instruments. It really gives his music there own identity
love this album to play in the background while doing some uni stuff
Thank you for posting this. I have a listen every few days.
I used to listen to this all the time early in middle school. Im listening to it again now that im about to graduate high school and getting even more emotional about it than i used to 💔 c418 makes the most beautiful music. It always makes me feel like im in another place.
I think I had it on loop once for 15 hours on a plane ride when I was in middle school. Listening to it now, it's still my favorite album ever.
